How to check how many points a ship have? Some web side? Also, me and my friend are enjoying Rebelion the board game, should we get Legion on Armada first?
welll im an armada player but in malaysia so even a cr90 will cos me 50 rm
When ever I see/hear about the MC30c, I have flash backs to the Star Wars Empire at War series, and running entire battles with only MC30cs, and dominating the match.
Check amazon from time to time and watch for price drops. I was lucky enough to get 2 CR90 expansions for 7$ each.

Good Idea with helping out new players, great initiative.
That said - I Highly disagree with the order of the suggestions. MC80 - Liberty for one, is properly the most '1-way street' rebel ship - And none of the cards it comes with are 'must have'.
As you mention that this is a list for people on budget I would HIGHLY suggest following (Always get base game first)
1) Assault Frigate MK - II Jack of all traits as mentioned and the B version is one of the best if not the best Rebel carrier for the price.
2) MC30 - Agree it will be really interesting for new players to play around with the duplicity of glass canon / bruiser. + it gives the turbolaser reroute card that is amazing on the CR90 that people already have in the base game
3) Rebel Squadron pack 1 this is an absolut must have to get the feeling with squadrons.
4) The Transport gives a whole new layer to the game
5) Rogues & Villains pack.
This list will allow people set up really good, diverse lists. you will have CR90, Nebulon B, AF MK-II, MC30 and a transport + enough squadrons to play around with. both MC80's are very expensive and have very specific usages where the whole build needs to be situated around what they bring to the table. Rest of the game add that little by little as you figure out what kind of playstyle you like.:
AF MK-II + Neb B (Yavaris) + Transport for Sqd play // CR90, AF MK-II, MC30, Neb B (Salvation) for direct damage -
you will also have two of the most versatile Admirals available Reeikan (with MC30) and Dodonna (with core). A very alternative view to the video - but i guess it just goes to show that there is a lot of possibilities in Armada, and a lot of opinions even amongst veteran players. Happy Admiral'ing :)
Great suggestions! You are absolutely right there are many ways to approach the game. I remember when first starting X-Wing I was first looking to simply fill up a 100 point list... and after I could physically meet the 100 point requirement I THEN was interested in branching out and being more diverse.
I just picked up my first lot of Armada today following this buy order. I was able to get everything except for the Rogues & Villians pack. I just finished assembling everything and organizing all the tokens. Now to read the rules and make my first fleet! Thanks for the input!

This will definitely be my faction. I love Crix Madine and Ackbar so the Liberty and Home One will definitely be my first purchases. Any ship featured on Rebels I'll probably pick up too. I really hope General Raddus' ship from Rogue One comes out for this game. Great video again. I really appreciate you taking the time to walk through all of this. I don't know when I'll break down and finally dive into Armada. I love the idea of large fleet combat but the Rebellion board game is currently meeting my need for galaxy wide conquest and fleet combat. But the models for Armada are just so damn beautiful. I'm sure it won't be long till I start playing.
Funnecessary I bet we will get Raddus' ship as well as the hammerheads. I want General Merrick as a pilot for X-wing miniatures as well as a T-65 fix.
Merrick was awesome in the movie and it would be awesome to get another X-Wing and Y-Wing expansion with all of the cool new pilots we had in Rogue One.
Great video! Noticed you have all the "Thunder Cats" figures... I remember that video series as well as many others... "LoneStar", etc. . Would love to see your X-Wing series.

I think the squadrons should be spaced out in intervals before you get all the ships. Rebels II after the Neb B, Rebes I after the Transport. Scum and Villainy and Corellian Conflict at the end.
I never could figure out where the bridge on the assault frigate Mk. II was.
How would Mon Calmari Home One combined with multiple MC-30 frigates sound like ?

Okay, time to pick the brain of our awesome host here:
I'm just starting out, and I'm in the process of assembling a Rebel build. In addition to the Core Set, I have the Rogues and Villains pack (hey, when I see it for FIVE BUCKS, I don't say no!), and a Liberty on the way. I know about dropping TRC's onto CR-90's from watching your video and seeing some builds out there. Initially, I was debating the MC 30 (in order to get a TRC), BUT a buddy of mine has extra TRC's to where I won't need a MC-30. The question: should I SKIP the MC-30 and go for a couple (or more) CR-90's instead *OR* still get the MC-30 and maybe not so many CR-90's?
Tapper Dan I'd still highly recommend getting at least 1 MC30c. The TRC's are great, but they're not the only reason to pick up the expansion. The ship comes with a ton of other good upgrades, as well as a great commander. Plus the MC30 has amazing titles and is a lot of fun to fly.
In between my looking up stuff here on RUclips, and posting on the FFG forums, I think that's the safe play. Gonna get one and go from there.
Best Rebels ships in terms of points per $ spent: Neb, MC80, then Liberty
Worst: Flotilla (by far), Pelta, then Assault Frigate.
Both of these videos are GREAT! One concern that I do have is the amount of table space used to play this. My thought: would it be possible to play the game on a 3x3 surface? I'm not talking for organized play or tournaments of course, I'm talking just my wife and I throwing down an playmat from X-Wing and going at it. Think it would work?
Tapper Dan You can definitely make a 3x3 work, just maybe not with full 400pt lists. The standard size for the game is 3x6 (two of the X-Wing mats put side-by-side), so it'll be a lot more crowded if you cut that area in half. It limits the maneuverability of the faster ships, and gives a huge advantage to things that need to get close, simultaneously neutering lists that like to stay at long range. You might also run into trouble with obstacles, as well as playing certain objectives.
That being said; lessening the # of points for the fleets or finding ways to adapt to the smaller board state is entirely possible. As long as you're able to enjoy this awesome game :)
Oh I plan on doing 3x6 eventually. I was just looking at space considerations in Casa de Tapper Dan. As long as it's workable, I'm content. It doesn't have to set the world on fire, it just has to work. I'm watching for a good folding table that is big enough to do 6x3. The 6 foot part is EASY......it's finding the 3 foot part that gets tricky!
Tapper Dan Tell me about it. I have to set two 6'x2.5' tables up just to have room. The extra space on the edges allows plenty of room for the cards and tokens though, which is nice. Just have the move my stuff to be able to fit that much table space in :P
But I'd say 3x3 is totally fine until you figure the larger space out
One thought was two 3x3 card tables put side by side. Just throw a 6x3 playmat across the whole thing! It doesn't go jack for the cards and tokens, but at least the playing area is good to go.
Tapper Dan Yeah, something like that could work. I was thinking of doing the same, but in the end wanted the extra space. It wouldn't be too hard to either have a small surface to put the cards on, or even put them in the spots on the play area that aren't occupied/less likely to be used for the current battle.

Where would you rank the Hammerhead on the list?
too early to tell. It's nice though. One one hand the upgrades they come with are good, but on the other hand they work best in larger groups so buying only one box might not be enough to really showcase their strengths.
Anyone know how big the executor would be in comparison to these other ships? i know they use a logarithmic scaling.
TeensierPython - I think that it would be the size of an Imperial Raider from X-Wing miniatures.But I’m not too sure about that.

If you have a cr90 a with spinal armament, it has the same long range frontal power as a vanilla victory 2
When and where is the list of upcoming tourneys? I live in Northern Indiana, love the game but looking to go against others but I cant find any lists or schedules of upcoming events?

Have you had much luck with Hera? Played against her and she was easy to lock up with TIEs. Her Rogue ability has no effect when engaged (normally) whereas the Lambda's Relay still lets you shoot in the ship phase giving you a slight advantage in the attrition battle.
You could add Intel but now you're talking about 40 points.
Pair her with Luke and Jan, the Intel ability will help. Or you could pair her with some A-Wings, Tycho for example, would be able to use the Rogue ability regardless of being tie'd up.
