I have just subscribed. We have a larger van, but I prefer my minivan for trips. I can’t off road on the forest roads, but I have been to some out of the way places by going slow and careful. The high top van we have is long and just parking it to me is a challenge. And when your on a road with heavy winds the high top is just not fun to drive. Overall these small vans are the best. I love my minivan. And I find that is very true. The more space you have the more stuff you carry. 🤣
It's amazing how important and handy items like bungee cords, cable ties, duct tape, velcro help in keeping one's van (any vehicle really) organized . I rented a small storage unit to store things I don't presently need. When it' s time to travel I plan where I'm going, what I need and how to store them for travel. I love how well organized you are and it helps us to think of our own needs and how we can more easily access our possessions. Every couple of weeks I evaluate my situation and if necessary make changes to make my work flow easier. Thanks for all of your wonderful ideas that make van life more pleasurable.

Good tips. The “secret” storage places in my medium-size SUV have been crafted by full or partial removal of interior panels. A huge space-sucker: the center console. Think outside the box. I know many people prefer the “no-build build” but in a small space, livability comes with the extra space you find by removing all the plastic waste inside.

😂 was just in the middle of organizing since I am at the WRTR and have only been on the road since April 6th. Amazing what I THOUGHT I would need and found nope! I was one of those solo women who had bought so much of what other’s recommended before getting on the road. Now when other newbies ask what is the best thing to buy, I say wait till you actually say to yourself, “I need to find a way to make Xyz happen and then buy it.

Always such great tips. I’m still trying to figure out how to minimize and I have much more space than you. 😚. I think if I was in my van more it would be easier but since I’m mostly in my sticks and bricks home it’s not as big a priority. I want to keep the van ready as a zombie apocalypse bug out rig in case I ever have to evacuate, so I’m still determining what’s essential and what’s not. I am considering getting a tiny van now because I’m constantly road tripping to get from A to B and not really smelling the roses but rather needing to get business done on each end. When my life settles down after moving I’ll have time to smell the roses and I can’t wait. Happy and safe travels always 🐞🚐👍🏼♥️

Missy, my amazon cart is getting full😁. I'm enjoying your videos, living van life through them and day dreaming that I will be there someday. Then I wake up to 4 kiddos and a husband🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and 1 is special needs that will always need me.
Have you tried GSI cookware, their cooking ladle, spatula etc are foldable and lightweight for backpacking, for spices y use plastic test tubes with caps, I mark them with permanent marker, they take little space but hold pretty good amount. I don’t have my van yet, this fall I will but lots of my camping gear will come handy. Great tips as usual.
Smaller salad dressings/hot sauce/really any condiment means that you usually have fresher items in your kitchen too. My problem is waiting until I run out of something before buying a new one-then you've got 2 in the space. But I'm getting better. Thanks for all the tips!

Great ideas here. I call it the paradox of preparedness. We are self sufficient and traveling but can bury ourselves in so much gear that we start to lose track of stuff. That's actually worse than not having it! So yes, constantly reassessing. Plus gear changes depending on what you're doing, so like on a boat, something comes on board, something's got to go overboard! Also, liked your soft touch.😉 Soft fabric organizers are lightweight! Cabinetry looks all fancy but in a small van too much creates hard edges, takes a lot of space and adds lots of weight. You can do a lot with grommets, glue, fabric and Paracord. I use small cargo net bags in my boat and van. Versatile, cheap, washable, adaptable. Soft storage also adds insulation. Bonus! Nice creativity and functionality Ladybug. Thanks for sharing. Charles.

Hi again DEE It's really true and I found the info on studies that being organized helps people's blood pressure and stress levels! I have always been that way as long as I can remember I'm quite sure because it was faster easier and yes less stressful lol! Honestly living in a small space that's the only way because if not I would think it could be really terrible going through everything for just one thing!! As always you've created updated and organized spaces that work great for you. One super tip was to let go of things you haven't used for a year or more! Thanks for sharing this helpful storage hints. Im in the process of doing away with a bulky three drawer chest I have in the van. I also want to cut out my overhead tv cabinet so I can put my blankets coat and back pack there. But that is down the road.

Yes a mini john bucket, 2 1/2 gal. With kitty litter,and a hunters urinal. I got those items for the back of my 2008 ford ranger no build build.

Great ideas here. I call it the paradox of preparedness. We are self sufficient and traveling but can bury ourselves in so much gear that we start to lose track of stuff. That's actually worse than not having it! So yes, constantly reassessing. Plus gear changes depending on what you're doing, so like on a boat, something comes on board, something's got to go overboard! Also, liked your soft touch.😉 Soft fabric organizers are lightweight! Cabinetry looks all fancy but in a small van too much creates hard edges, takes a lot of space and adds lots of weight. You can do a lot with grommets, glue, fabric and Paracord. I use small cargo net bags in my boat and van. Versatile, cheap, washable, adaptable. Soft storage also adds insulation. Bonus! Nice creativity and functionality Ladybug. Thanks for sharing. Charles.

It's really true and I found the info on studies that being organized helps people's blood pressure and stress
levels! I have always been that way as long as I can remember I'm quite sure because it was faster easier and yes less stressful lol! Honestly living in a small space that's the only way because if not I would think it could be really terrible going through everything for just one thing!!
As always you've created updated and organized spaces that work great for you. One super tip was to let go of things you haven't used for a year or more! Your "1-2 moves" tip is very important as I realize that I won't do something if it feels like its more struggle than is worth. Thanks for sharing this helpful storage hints. Im in the process of doing away with a bulky three drawer chest I have in the van. I also want to cut out my overhead tv cabinet so I can put my blankets coat and back pack there. But that is down the road.
