My God I can't believe it never even occurred to me to try split-screen rather than jumping back and forth all over the place. Thank you for alerting me to my complete madness, this may be 2 years old but could make editing and sequencing samples when not at the computer hugely more productive.
I'm brand new to ios music production and only picked up audioshare to easily add tracks into SAMPLR... just picked up Koala and love it but the chopping and cutting in other apps was adding extra steps I wasn't happy with... wow this is a game changer!!! I had no idea audioshare even had features like that... Makes wonder what else Audioshare can do that I have been missing out on... I wonder if this will work with SAMPLR too... Great tip my friend!!!

But there’s something with the experience of using the Novation Circuit that is way better and faster to me. One, it does not bug on me. The iPad with multiple instances of Audiobus apps ou AUM, can be quite buggy.The tactile interface, knobs, pads and the interface design makes it on of the quickest song generation on the go. I have never stumbled on anything that fast on the iPad. I think they both can work together with a small portable setup for live gigs or bedroom studios.

Do I need audiobus or AUM to sync the midi? Ideally I’d like the mpc to play some samples as the same time koalas running other samples and while the mpc controls koala
@@brownbubbletheory camera connection kit with a usb to midi cable. Map the pads from the MPC to Koala pads. Route the outputs of the MPC to your original or interface and enable monitoring in Koala - boom!
Great tutorial, thank you! I purchased Audioshare, but when I do this the audio I record into Koala sounds fine, but if he try any pitch or effects it distorts lots. Any ideas what would cause this? I have tried every setting and cannot solve this.
That mast comment really made this for me as I play many acoustic instruments. And I love to have background music that I make to improvise over. So this is very vary cool. I bought audiobus 3 years ago but never used it because I just starting using AUM etc. But I like this idea very much as I still get a little daunted with AUM. Thank you so much ! I've encountered a problem with split-screen and my iPad 7; i.e, it doesn't work. But, having checked on the Apple help forums, I found the problem is probably with some apps, not the iPad. Good to know Koala and Audioshare do work together in split-screen, though.
The audiobus seems like a great workflow, very well explained too. Did you experience Koala not changing to inter app audio If I click inside Audiobus, the. Koala works but only inside the Audiobus app, so no split screen. Any idea what can solve this?

Great youtube sampling workflow! But Tube AU is like 10 euros and requires iOS 12.2 minimum.latest iOS downloadable from Apple today is iOS 14. I m still on iOS 11. Is it worth upgrading to iOS 14 , do all your audio apps work well under iOS 14 ?
This was done on an iPad Air2 running 13.7. I would say to at least upgrade to 13 for now and wait awhile for the developers to update their apps to 14.

I'm trying to use the Audiobus + Sunrizer + Koala splitscreen setup like what you have but it won't let me launch sunrizer in splitscreen like this. It just shows the app icon with a "Z Z Z" animation going out of it as if it were sleeping and when I click on it, it goes fullscreen. Any ideas what might be going on and how I can get it running like what you have? I'm using a 3rd gen 12.9 inch iPad Pro so I can't image it being a hardware limitation.

Mine turned into inerapp audio but didn’t record any sound, I exit out and go back in and it doesn’t change back to IAA, but I hold down a pad and push keys from an app and it records a sound but the audio sounds different

I’ve never ran into this before - I can’t even replicate the problem. My guess would be to go to those sounds in your files app and download them to your iPad into AudioShare.

No you don’t need to purchase AUv3 for Koala. In Audiobus, only AUv3 synths will work with this method. So just stick to the Audio Units menu. In AUM, you can route whatever you want into koala
Open the Files app and navigate to the AudioShare folder. You can drag and drop your audio files from there. It’s not the best for previewing a ton of short one shots samples BUT it GETS THE JOB DONE!!
hi, thanks for this! But having problems though as I can't sequence in Koala when it is still tagged as Effect in Audiobus. So is there a better way than removing Koala as effect and putting it as input before I can sequence? Because I'm thinking of doing this on-the-fly workflow but changing inputs is not efficient. I opened up audioshare and followed the steps in this vid to get koala app to get into iaa mode. Then I went back to audio bus 3 and when I dragged koala into split screen it opened up with iaa already on.
@@SamFillippo you can koala on android with no problems. You won’t be able to do the split screen trick because you can’t route audio from one app to another on android.

@@bocard80 I think android has split screen built in. But, directing the audio into koala is a different issue. There’s no Audiobus or AUM equivalent in android. Best thing to do is screen record RUclips and use the “samples” tab

Try adding Samplr as an effect in Audioshare . If you can, then it’ll work with this method.

Yes. I love using hardware with Koala. I use my MPC 2000 all of the time with it

These days, I’m using AUM the most. Audio us is the easiest to use, but AUM has greater routing capabilities.

If you’re using Audiobus, make sure your midi is routed in the midi section to your synths. AUM is a little more straightforward with this.
Are those vst synths also on koala?
Those are separate synths sampled directly into koala. No synth sound in koala - it’s just a sampler

You can do this in AudioShare. Audiobus and Koala are not working together at the moment.

Koala isn’t really the app to do this with. I’d suggest beatmaker3 or iMPC pro for that.
