    One thing you might want to cover, which isn't really covered properly in the Owner's Manual, is that if you ever need to replace one tire and it's more than 2/32" difference than the others, you'll need the new tire shaved down so you don't potentially mess up the AWD system or you can just buy 4 new tires. You'll think you're going to spend $250 and end up walking out with $1200 after all the additional fees. DiscountTire doesn't shave tires.

    I just picked up a new 2024 Subaru Legacy Premium. I think I will really enjoy it. Very comfortable. One thing that puzzled me was the radio presets. I could not figure out why when I switched to SiriusXm (which I listen to most of the time), it was still showing the four or five FM radio stations I had programmed in. I think I was assuming that were 18 presets for each radio mode, AM, FM or SiriusXM. Almost by accident, I started experimenting saving a SiriusXM channel over an FM selection. That worked - you could mix them up. So…. Now I am thinking that you get 18 Total presets. You use them as you like with AM, FM or Sirius. I now have 12 SiriusXM presets (my favorite channels) and 6 FM presets (for local and sports stuff). That works for me. This is probably true for all of the 2024 models that have this 11in touch screen. If anyone has any different thoughts I would like to hear them.
    Now all I have to figure out is a way, when I am playing music from USB drive, to have the music start from the same place it was when I shut the car off. Right now, it always goes back to the very first song on my flash drive. Every time I restart car using the USB drive.

    Hi, I just purchased a New Forester. I got a Starlink subscription to have remote control including climate. The first week I had a problem with the heat not working. I took the car to the dealer and they found the problem, which is something not working on the control knob, but they didn't have the part. They ordered the part and scheduled it for a few days later to replace it. I went there today and they fixed it however I don't have the climate remote control even though I purchased the correct package to have the remote control and it shows up on my Subaru app. They told me that I can't control the climate because I have manual knobs and not digital, but I'm not convinced. I am almost certain that it was working the first few days I got it but I am not sure if I was leaving the heat in on position when I leave my car. I also called starlink customer service and they checked it out and said it should work and if it doesn't it won't show up in your app. So my question is, will the remote climate control work on a Forester Premium if I buy the right starlink package?

    Hey Alex, thanks for your vids, very helpful & professional. I have a 22 Outback Touring & love the turbo (I had a 18 Outback and it was underpowered). What about the valve of the Subaru extended warranty? I have 18,000 miles on it.

    I have a 2022 Outback. I just noticed my backup camera is only showing on half the display screen recently. How do I restore it to the full screen display? I stopped by my dealer who told me I couldn’t fix it. Unacceptable. I appreciate your knowledge. Can you help with instruction to reset it back to full screen?

    I had an issue one time when I was bringing a friend some place. I had plugged in my iPhone which started CarPlay on my 2019 Forester's display. Then some work related text messages came in and displayed on the console as well. I'm sure the friend was able to read the messages. I disabled CarPlay on my phone after that to keep my incoming text messages private. I'm not sure if I can selectively mute text messages so they do not show up on the Forester's console. In any case, I no longer use CarPlay. If I wish to charge my phone, I run a charging cable from one of the USB ports in the passenger row to the driver's cup holder in the center, and plug that into the phone.

    I also love these videos and every time they make me hate the place where I bought my Crosstrek. I keep discovering things the car I ordered had but the one I got not. I am totally lost on how to connect the phone wirelessly to the android auto. I can never get the voice activated feature to work either and they don't know at the Subaru dealer either. Can you help?

    I Alex, I have a new 2024 Subaru Forester and the camera which shows the front of the car and the left hand side. The yellow line on the side is not lining up as actual, can this line be edited. I also have a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport that does the same thing but there is a special menu that allows you to edit these lines to suit the situation. Cheers Ray R

    Thoughts?

    Can you do a video on Subaru recommended maintenance schedule & the costs? We have been looking at the 2023 Subaru Forester but the salesman said the maintenance costs run approx $800-$900 for scheduled maintenance every 30,000 miles. This in additional to regular oil changes. Is that correct and is it because of CVT? We have never owned a CVT.

    Hi Alex, I find your videos extremely informative and thank you for these videos.
    I currently own a 2023 Outback XT and live in Canada. My question is do you know if Sabaru will becoming out the a Hybrid version in the future for the Outback's?
    Also, on my My Subaru app i"Quick Start" how do I increase the engine running time from 10 minutes to 20 minutes?

    • @alexpmo
      @alexpmo  10 месяцев назад

      Hey Steve! I expect to see an Outback hybrid in the next couple of years, but nothing certain has been said. As far as I am aware, there isn’t a way to run the engine longer than 10 minutes with remote start. My guess is this could be a safety feature. In the event someone starts their car in the garage with the door closed. That and maybe an epa issue for idle time? Not sure.
