We have a Norcold in our 2004 Lance camper and honestly it's the best rv fridge I ever used. Freezes rock hard and stuff in the fridge is cold but not frozen. It's perfect.
I have the same fridge freezer and I two thousand nine Jayco And It works great. I don't want a newer camper just because of these problems.
Note the attach info on a great screen room. We have used for couple years camping. Very very easy to set up and take down. Plus super price.
I've come to the conclusion it's better to just stay in a VRBO when traveling LOL 🤣
You’re so right. Wife and I have done both. Traveling the country in an RV is extremely expensive, a lot of work and stressful.We learned buying the RV even brand new was the cheap part. We now travel in a Lexus ES350. We stay in VRBO’S and various hotels and lodging around the country. More comfortable and better accommodations and save a ton of money. Not knocking RV’ing, It’s a great life style. We did it for 18 months and loved it.
I've have a Newmar motorhome. It had a NorCold refrigerator. We called it a NotCold! After many attempts (control board, new cooling units) to get the unit to cool down properly where we didn't have to constantly worry about our food spoiling, I eventually put in a residential style unit connected to an inverter. It was the best decision ever to go with the residential style.
We had one in our Jayco Seneca. It went bad in 6 months!

We had frig problems with our Class A coach. Bought a battery operated fan placed it in the refrigerator and voila’ problem solved.

Shower head: I've seen some use the Command Broom and Mop gripper to hold the shower head to the ceiling so that it falls downward. The other option is the Oxygenics shower head. We use the High Sierra shower head (Amazon, made in USA, metal, with the trickle valve and foam handle) which has a completely adjustable shower head. Both the Oxygenics and the High Sierra are 1.5 gpm heads. I've never used the Oxygenics but we have the High Sierra in both our house and the rig for years and have been very pleased with their performance.
Slide topper: I picked up, from Sam's Club, the large diameter pool noodles (four of them) and, when there's rain in the forecast, I put them under the slide topper to keep it from sagging. It works pretty good. There are a number of other solutions as well. Just remember to take them out before retracting the slide.

On the sway, you might want to get the blue Sumo Springs for the rig. Night and day difference in the ride.
I shut off power to my rig for a day and my ever chill fridge stopped working I had to unhook the battery and unhook the solar panel and let it reboot. It works now so far.
I tied the four corners of valve gaskets with sewing thread. Happy travels!

Home Depot has a suction cup shower head holder with a small arm to point it more downward.
It's too late now, but if it ever happens again, look into "unique" fridges. I did a video on the 290L I believe and it's pretty much the same size as the original rv fridge.
You picked the perfect name for the channel, wish I had thought of that, lol. Now that I own an rv, I totally get it. I bought mine May 2023, and have been irritated many times since, lol. I’m really hoping the initial issues are mostly fixed and I’ll actually get to camp some without having the tanks not dump, or something not shaking loose, lol. I think if I had been through what you and your wife have, I think I’d give up with factory RV’s and build my own, lol.

I got a brand new Rockwood and the TVs weren’t even smart. Picked up some $100 TVs at Wally and they are working out nice. Threw the garbage that came with the coach away.

You need to get a screen house so you can hang outside! Some awnings have screens that can attach . . . Have fun at the airshow. We always put a fridge fax in ours to help circulate the air . . .

I know it is a silly question, but why not mount the shower head on the wall the faucet is on, so it will point away from the door/curtain? Please forgive me but it seems obvious but surely more to it than I am seeing?

Might try a battery powered fridge fan to help distribute the cold...about 20 bucks at Camping World.
You can rent one, but they’re still the same rv’s you buy, just abused. A friend rented a $120,000 motor home to go to Disney and had to spend $1,200 on the awning and think he had other issues too. I didn’t want to rent because one bad experience would kill any future hope to camp, but in hindsight, that may have been a blessing, lol
Tiffin for the win. Can’t compare a Tiffin motor coach to a pull behind travel trailer. 🤣🤣

Scandvik sells a shower wand mount the swivels up and down. As far a the fridge goes. Ditch it and get a household one and run it off an inverter.
You touched on it last time when you had the fridge out. There isn't anywhere for the heat to go from the condenser. Is there a way to cut a hole back there to allow the heat to escape?
You can use plumbers seal grease to hold the seals in place.
The fridge in our RV regulates colder the higher the number.
Delete the shower door completely. Add curved shower rod and curtains for less headaches. 30 yr RV living here.

Check out the Hensley Hitch it eliminates trailer sway completely. It also adds length so you might be able to keep your tailgate down. We have a Hensley and love it.
We bring a bug zapper with us when we travel in bug season.
You guys should get a Hensley or Propride. I put about 10,000 miles on Hensley Arrow and loved it. Just got a Fifth Wheel.

I had a norcold in a winabago, it would work just fine setting in the driveway. Once you hit the road never fail it would not cool . After several attempts to find problems I decided heck with it and sold the unit . No more rvs for me. RV---- Runined Vacation

May I suggest you have a custom bespoke travel trailer made to your measurements and specifications. It will be the only way you will ever be happy with an RV.

i feel your pain with the feet hanging off the edge of the recliner the dont make recliners for tall people, to compensate for it i sit in it at an angle so my feet dont hang off but it puts stress on the rest of the body
The newer toyhaulers are a bit more comfy the older ones were the version 1 not much comfort the newer ones are more solar ready and they have the soft start modules for the air conditioning that make it able to run 2 ac units on a 30 amp and 3 ac units on a 50 amp

Have you ever thought of ebikes to get around? I've got a Jasion EB7 2.0 I use when I go camping/tailgating, etc. It's not like my motorcycle, but it's fun for tooling around camping/events. RV's equipment aren't what they used to be, unfortunately. I had a 40 ft prowler park model from 95' to 15' and never had an issue except replacing an awning that got jacked in a wind storm.
Take the tailgate off if you want to put stuff in the bed that is a little long for it.
You should have purchased a Keystone Cougar. There are different levels of campers. Unfortunately, you are going to deal with issues with your purchase.
Have you considered a pre def class a? I'm sure there's a great deal somewhere with probably minimal repairs needed.

have you thought about getting a 3/4 or 1ton truck with duallys for the extra stability and getting a 5th wheel for more room? also if you did you could prob get a 5th wheel toy hauler with more living space then this current tag behind.

The Tiffin you compare your Hawk to is not in the same league. Yes kitchen overhead is smaller. Yes, recliner is smaller and not built as well. Yes, fridge has a known issue. But thinking you can fix what is wrong to make it more like your Tiffin class A is Ludacris.

Here's a trick on your seals. Gray and black
When replacing the seals. Put vasonie on the seals ,that will keep the seals in place during installation.
I do it when replacing seals for year now. Keep them in place.
Plus it lubricant the seals. Keep them from dying out.
