She gave to my niece and my niece used a bit and now 3 years later my niece is not interested anymore in the Ipad and gave to me to put in the recycle bin. Instead I am trying to sell it but she doesn't remember her "passcode". And she lives in another country, so, in order that I follow your instructions I have to use my MacBook Air. My questions is: is this process going to compromise my data, since is not her computer? All I want is erase and restore the Ipad for selling it. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

I would hazard the guess that fewer than 25% of folks have backed up their iPad. Coming from an IT environment, I’m all too familiar with the look I got after asking when they last backed up their device. Glad to see this video. I can link to it instead of seeing the disappointment on the faces of those who are about to lose everything that hadn’t been backed up.
