Even if your doctor might tell you the opposite. It's worth getting your acid levels in the stomach measured. If so, then drink some diluted apple cider vinegar before each meal and chew well. It fixed it for some. Other associated symptoms on top of chest burns are: bloated, burps, feeling full quickly but still hungry

No no. I use it up to date. It should help with that feeling of something stuck in your throat.

Take Gaviscon when you need it. There is no prescription. I take it whenever I start getting cough.. Which in my case is usually after breakfast.
