The room looked as if the hotel manager went round and either bought mismatched furniture from Charity stores or collected furniture from nature strips on hardwaste collection night.
Another wonderful review video !! I am subbed to your channel now !! 😀 I loved the views from this hotel & nostalgic atmosphere & some of the room's floor plan ,because of that old European classic hotel vibe it provides in photos I've seen !! But,the reviews scared me ( roaches & rats !! ) ! So, when I traveled to England/ Wales in 2022 summer for my 2nd time ,I chose Point A in Olympia/ Kensington instead & I was very ,very happy for my decision !! I highly recommend that hotel !! As for this Britannia hotel ,the views are amazing & the vibes & staff are seemingly very friendly, so hoping that they'll refurbish decors & furniture & fix the issues & broken lamps ,etc !! Then,I believe that they've got so much potentials !! As for roaches & rats ,I have natural solutions that work w/ o killing ( well ,it kills if they contact it ,but also prevents 'em as these are natural predators ) ! Geranium essential oil ( fragrant geranium, not those ordinal geranium ! ) for roaches ! I got rid of 'em for years now w tge essential oil !! And peppermint ESSENTIAL oil ,not cooking kind ,for rats as they're allergic to it ! It deters rats . I really hope they'll improve their health codes & qualities !! Then,I'll stay there or visit for tea !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💕💞
Oh you’re a brave man Roger. I dunno, I think I’d feel quite depressed staying there! Crazy prices at the moment though eh? Similar in Edinburgh when I tried to get a room the other night.
@@RogEdwardsTV We got one of these "run down" Britannia Hotels in Bournemouth, I stayed at one near Newcastle Airport a while back and it was actually good! Might have to give this a go shortly!
Hi Roger. Hope ok after the "bed test!" Yes, parts of the room could be better & agree about the cups! Breakfast looked fine, good choices. For the price, not bad, but you've reviewed better London hotels! Good views though! Glasgow still at the top! Thanks for sharing. 😊 👍 🍷
Hi Roger.... I'm afraid that this hotel would be rated a big let down in my opinion..... hope your well my friend....Richard Turnbull in Newcastle upon Tyne 😀
Have you ever tried The Old Waverley in Edinburgh? Although it is right across from the train station, I don't think it can (or should) be considered a "grand British transport hotel". I stayed there in May and was so disappointed, especially for how expensive it was. I'm curious what your opinion is of that place and if any of your followers have also stayed there. Perhaps you need to do an episode on it!! 🙏
The two official BTHs in Edinburgh are The Balmoral and The Waldorf Astoria (Caledonian), so the Old Waverley hasn’t been on my radar. As I live in Edinburgh, I’ve not stayed there in the past either. Maybe worth doing a review at some point as a hotel that’s “almost” a railway hotel? Thanks for watching.
Britannia PLC is a strange chain and on you should try is the one in the centre of Birmingham as even Steptoe and Son would turn their noses up at it infact even Hercules their horse would!I get the impression that they are into the land value and run them as functional hotels but don't invest as they are mainly interested in the value of the land underneath them.On an astronomical note nice pictures of our star approaching sunset through thin Cirrus clouds.
The place doesnt look any diffeerent to when I stayed there about 20 years ago🤣. Was there still a big green skip under the entrance area by the door? It was still there the last time I saw the Brittannia reviewed on YT
I think I’ll stick to the British Transport Hotels for the time being, thanks! 😂 That said, the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool is a BTH and owned by Britannia so I’ll have to do that one eventually! 😵💫
Glutton for punishment staying there Rog . Carpets look as if the rooms have had evidence of livestock. Can you nip over to Heathrow and cast your eyes over their hotels?

That’s dead right! 😂😂

Yeah, there’s some eye-watering prices about at the moment. Especially from the chains I would expect to be “low-cost”.

Go for it, Jett! 😂

Thanks Alan. Given my expectations were rock bottom, it was okay. Not a patch on some of the BTHs we’ve stayed in though. 🤔
Haha, ropey! I'll have to think about that word next time I come down for breakfast on my future hotel stays :) Pooooke!!!
🙏🏻 Thanks Red!
Thank you so much for wonderful review. Next time I will definitely stay there because of the price.🎉❤
You’re welcome 😊 Hope you enjoy your stay! 👌
Thanks Rog for putting your life 'on the line'
…and thank you for watching! 😀
My god for London, that is incredible price, even including breakfast.. will keep an eye on that hotel if ever find myself in London
Thanks Walter. It definitely needs some TLC despite the price! 😀
I totally agree 👍 They just have to improve the health concerns & codes & refurbish their furniture, etc !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

Definitely not the best! 😂

Thanks for watching. I might give the Brum Hotel a miss! 😂 Yes the sunset and sky was stunning.

The skip was there (though I thought it was a shipping container). Thanks for watching! ☺️
Doesn't make sense such an amazing place and a hotel of that standard. What did it cost for the night ?
Skip to 09:50 for the price discussion! 😀
Should be £120 dodgy carpet reminding me of a hotel I booked in Toronto. I felt like I had entered a Alfred Hitchcock murder film.
Yep - very Hitchcock! Or the Overlook from The Shining! 😂
where your youtube on saturday at 12pm rog edwards tv?
🤔😉
For roaches & rats ,they've gotta clog / block all the cracks & gaps & holes 1st !! Then, use FRAGRANT geranium essential oil to get rid of roaches & ESSENTIAL peppermint oil ,not cooking oil ,for rats .Rats are allergic to essential peppermint oil. 😩
Is this the beginning of a staying at all the Britannia Hotels series? The bravest UK travel challenge.
I think I’ll stick to the British Transport Hotels for the time being, thanks! 😂

The room has the 60/70s vibes
All it needs is a Lava Lamp! 😂
Their weird objects & statues are turn off ,though ! Lol. 😅
You booked a twible room 😆
😂
Ripoff
Glutton for punishment staying there Rog . Carpets look as if the rooms have had evidence of livestock.
Can you nip over to Heathrow and cast your eyes over their hotels?
"Evidence of livestock". 😂😂I'm going to steal that for a future video!
