I personally like the shots on the XR better and the wide shots are A+.
The XR is my favourite iPhone I've ever purchased.
yah bro even in low light you can even see the pictures on there it's much more improvement than on the Xs and on Portrait mode instead of the other iphones being so much upclose , on the Xr it's much more open space and you'll still get the bokeh on point. I feel like the Xs is overrated highkey if you ask me

I’ve Xs Max and it was amazing. A life changer for me because I really love taking photos. Low light and zoom are superb. Love the smart HDR feature 👍

Am I the only one who likes the pictures form the XR better? I just love the look of it and the colors, idk for some reason it looks more real to me on that phone than the other X models. The photos from the XS to me look like its just "trying too hard" to look good lol

I maybe years late to comment, but I would like to point out why XR's portrait shots look brighter than the XS'. Since XR has single camera with f/1.8 aperture, the software does the blur. The XS, on the other hand, uses its telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture when taking portrait photos.
I love XR than XS
Very attracted to the XS zoom, but I already have a Moment telephoto lens, so I can get a good zoom with the $30 or so it will cost for a Moment case vs. $250 extra for XS. It's definitely not as convenient as just clicking the button on the screen, but I usually know in advance when I'm going to want to use the telephoto. Bottom line: I'm ready to upgrade, and it looks like XR has almost everything I want.
These kinds of video comparison test between two phones are interesting to me and that dog in the video is cute

One extra camera doesn't cost $250 more, XS has much more to offer: better OLED display with higher resolution, narrower bezels, 3D touch, 4GB ram, IP68 rating, more premium stainless steel build, portrait mode for objects. The question should be, does all of these combinedly worth the extra $250.
I got the XR in November & I can honestly say , this phone is great ‼️. But they could add more features for the portrait mode tho .
I feel that dual camera setup is worth it. 😄

Vo Le Zoom for me was never that good. And I can still zoom, but not as much. It’s all digital instead of manipulated by the camera. And I love the color. 😁
Xs for nerds, Xr for everyone else. Also when taking portraits for the Xr it doesn’t mean it was meant to stand back as far as the Xs due to their being no telephoto lens. stand closer next time. Know how to use a camera if you’re going to do reviews.

Actually, you can use the front camera on the iPhone XR for portrait shot of inanimate objects.

I dunno if it's my XS phone but it seems to take worse pictures than my dad's XR. Specifically, I took a picture of the tv on its stand with the windows behind it. It rendered the cabinet i shadowy blob (poor dynamic range). Then I had my dad take the same pic with his XR. It showed what I've long suspected...better dynamic range as the tv stand was a bit visible and both phones were in the same position when the shots were taken.
No "BACKSHOT" ! LOL 😂🤣

Why would anyone want to take portrait pictures on a phone. I want the nice background in my picture too.
Jay Arfa you can have the nice background if you want. But some people want the more professional looking studio photos anywhere at anytime.

Telephoto second camera has always been garbage on iPhones. 1 micron pixel size leaves out way too much. Better off not having it. Get Halide app to take bokeh portraits of anything.

@@iamsrf007 I think considering it already does when when there's a human + pet in the shot, it's a very real possibility. It would just be a matter of training the AI to detect other subjects. Maybe iOS 13?
