Worked as a flight deck troubleshooter/final checker, AMH3, VA-87,USS America, CV66, 1977-78, can honestly say it was the best work I've ever done; watching this brings tears to my eyes.
USS Kitty Hawk, 2005-2007, VFA-27, AME2(AW), Trouble Shooter, loved working on deck! Night check was my FAV!, Launching aircraft at night, full AB.....never got old, miss it terribly, not the same on the outside😢😢😢😢
My last cruise was on the Connie, class mate of the Hawk. Loved every minute being in the tail hook Navy form 1965 to 1977. (there were bad times of course, lost friends in Vietnam, ect. but on the outside, given time I am starting to move those hard times to the long term parking lot in my mined).
When I flew off the Forrestal , 1968-9 there was only JP4. Only the Air Force used JP5. The USAF always gets the good stuff. They also hoarded explosive head 20mm rounds. (#@$&!)
That was awesome, was CAT ONE petty officer on USS KITTY HAWK during Vietnam war. Wild and crazy 71 72. Greatest experience in my life, hats off to all who served and those who gave all.
THANK YOU BUDDY. I was CV64 Constellation (77-81) didn't see anything on CV64 on your video, however, saw 62, 63, 65, 68, 70 which was cool. Yes they were around when I was in the Navy. BOTTOM LINE: WE SERVED.
As a roof worker I appreciate very much looking back on time for the things we do on the roof, really miss it, adan t/s launch & recovery A6-E TRAM VA-128 GOLDEN INTRUDERS, West coast training squadron for the fleet, 85-89, ranger, connie & carl vinson roofs I have worked. Fly navy, 👍⚓️🇺🇲
Bravo Zulu to the deck crews keeping'em flying and Ship's Company for providing the Steam. Our United States Navy 🇺🇸: Steam on, Fly on, Fight on, Win on, Press on! We ain't giving up without a fears FIGHT! YAHWEH bless the USA 🇺🇸

Tanks for a great video, it bought a tear to the eye of this old salt Aviator.
Yep lost a few every cruse. I was a black shoe, but went up to the 010 a lot to watch flight ops, and from DC Central via the cameras.
The song is just so right......
