  • Chocolate cake forms on top and hot fudge on the bottom and all you have to do is add ice cream. A classic recipe, just like Grandma use to make!
NOTE: In the video I say 3/4 cup of hot water and it should be 1 1/2 cups hot water.
Hot Fudge Sundae Cake is a warm gooey brownie and hot fudge sauce all in one. Everything is mixed up together and magic happens as it bakes.
    Find the printable recipe here:www.yourhomebasedmom.com/hot-...
    Hot Fudge Sundae Cake:
    1 cup flour
    3/4 cup granulated sugar
    2 Tbsp cocoa
    2 Tbsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 cup milk
    2 Tbsp canola oil
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups hot or boiling water
    Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In an ungreased 8 x 8 square pan, stir together flour, sugar 2 Tbsp cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Mix in milk, oil and vanilla and stir with fork until smooth. Spread evenly in the pan.
Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa.
Pour hot water over batter. Let it sit on top, do not stir in.
    Bake for 35 minutes.
Let stand 10-15 minutes and then spoon into dessert dishes and top with ice cream.

@@LeighAnneWilkes ..In the Description text box, (Show More), "2 Tbsp baking powder" is listed. Might that much have the cake pouring out into the floor of the oven?
I did that once, myself.🤔 😳Never again. I had the prettiest yellow flame burning inside my oven...

It's very similar to my Mom's hot pudding cake but she uses far less sugar.

I've made this cake several times over the years but it's been a minute so I had to look it up. The only difference is I add a smidge of cinnamon to the dry ingredients.

Why would u put oil in it when the original recipe calls for melted butter which is not only better for you but tastes sooooo much better...

    • @LeighAnneWilkes
      @LeighAnneWilkes  Год назад +2

Feel free to add butter if you prefer, the recipe that I got from my mother has always called for oil.
