Hot Fudge Brownie Pudding Cake
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups sugar (3/4 + 1/2 for topping)
1 cup flour
7 tablespoons cocoa (3 + 4 for topping)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup melted butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 hot water
Directions:
-Preheat oven to 350º
-Mix 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt.
-Blend the milk, butter and vanilla into the flour mixture. Combine thoroughly.
-Pour into a lightly greased 8”x8” or 9”x9” baking dish.
-Mix 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and 4 tablespoons cocoa together. Sprinkle over batter.
-Pour hot water over top - do not stir!
-Bake for 40 minutes. Allow to sit for about 15 minutes. Serve warm.

That is a very old recipe my granny made as far back as the early 1960's. the recipe may be older than that. we pour boiling water over, not just hot. We call it Lava cake. A family favorite.

I am going to have to try this, memories of Mom's. But since hubby isn't a chocolate lover, I'm going to cut the recipe down by 1/4 and make it in a 4"x4" cake pan for myself. Will just have to watch the baking time! thanks for the download!

Can we substitute brown sugar with white sugar?
you may notice a difference in the texture of your baked goods - brown sugar is naturally moist, so using it will result in baked goods that are softer and moister.
i tried this and it turned out good (except i put it in the oven for 30 mins)
