Tobin man, stop being too sensitive I am not Ghanaian or Kenyan but I want all my African brothers and sisters to come to anywhere in Africa they feel comfortable. They are running away from a country where they do not belong, when they come home we have to help them and later we will benefit. Thanks so much for this platform African tigress. Thanks so much brother for supporting African businesses. We lack industries and this is the root of flourishing economies.
This has to be one of the best and least bias pov of a Black American’s experience in Africa. 🆗 Now!!!! He's right about the lack of support... Likewise when you hit the ground on African soil 1) try to make connections before you head out 2) be prepared to work insolation where necessary until good networks can be formed. 3) Mingle with the locals and don't depend to much on the expats groups... Great video. Thanks for sharing. One thing I wanna share is the fact that 75% of African American people living in the States, forefathers were taken from West Africa. This is something well documented and historically accurate. Hence, African Americans leaving the States and matriculating to the West African Coast is essentially coming back to their roots. Obviously they may know very little about their individual and collective African background (Heritage), nevertheless, gravitating to the West coast to resettle is a step in the right direction. Thank you African Tigress for your channel. It is enjoyable and informative. I had originally thought living in West Africa, but more and more I am leaning towards Uganda or Kenya especially Kenya. I am slowly teaching myself Kiswahili. Continue the great content!
Hi, I put Kiswahili on the back burner. Thanks for asking. Me resua Twi (I am studying). I will be marrying a Ghanaian soon. After I have a solid foundation in Twi, I will resume Kiswahili study.
The East African Community (a regional cooperation arrangement for Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda DR Congo, Burundi and South Sudan) is steadily becoming a reality. So relocation to any of these countries effectively means having 100% access to the biggest and economically viable region of East and Central Africa ❤ ❤
Yeah we need more processing factories in Kenya.Kenyan raw materials are of high quality but the few processing factories limit production of raw materials
@Mahera Biz Exactly,I wonder why the interview did not focus upon how expensive Kenya is ????Especially, the areas where people would most like to live.
@Mahera Biz With all this in your head then why hate on KE. The interviewee stated clear on what budgetary expectations any new comer could work with in their first few months in KE as they find comfort. You went on to pick Kibera just to poke fun! Remember those Americans are just humans and can survive just like all persons do! You keep yelling KE is expensive, not fit for American returnees as though you're footing their bills, nonsense! Let them make their own choice, the guy went to GH and finally found comfort in KE and is sharing his experience. Go advertise your country somewhere else and stop hating on KE!
Stay tight Warrior! I'm Kofi too, from Kenya by way of Detroit Michigan, left Kenya at 19 yrs old... now about to retire, I hope I meet you when I get home. Keep Humble like you are. Mo Tep! AMEN.
Great interview, I like the diverse view point and experience from all the different expats it give us a better sampling to make as good of a decision in picking a country to relocate.
I plan on coming to Africa this year and I feel like I want to visit east africa instead of west africa because of the reasons this brother spoke of plus flights to Kenya from Boston or New York are around $700 dollars round trip during certain parts of the year.
My dear don't just dwell on an individual's experience because to each and their expectations and what makes them happy. So I will say visit east Africa, west Africa, southern Africa and central Africa to feel the vibe and the right country will choose you. Because I have also seen a lot of AA's who visited Kenya liked it but didn't connect to the vibe so do your research.
This is so good. Thank you for the comparisons. I have wanted to visit Africa, and entertaining the idea of relocating one day, but I need to learn more about the different countries and which would be best suited for me.
Let's not sugar coat the experiences. I hear a lot of hedging on pro's and con's of living in African cities. We ain't thinned skinned. We know the struggle is real. As well, we don't want a lot of unskilled expats littering a continent that needs so much infrastructure. This ain't the place to come to play. WE got work to put in!
I LOVE that you need to learn the language and integrate into society properly for citizenship. Ninasema Kiswahili....kidogo....sivizuri sana! But I am going to Rwanda so I need to work on my Kinyarwanda!
@@stanleymureithimukara6714 Not much of it. I think she needs French and kinyarwanda more than kiswahili. I would put learning kiswahili last, when you're settled. But Rwanda and Burundi French is more essential.
Anonymous I don’t know about Rwanda but in Kenya I know you can definitely get it, I’ve seen some British, Americans with Kenyan passports, the former ceo of Safaricom Michael Joseph also has a Kenyan passport though he was born in South Africa, doesn’t mean that after submitting your citizenship application that you will get it immediately, I’ve heard people say that the process can drag on for years because of a backlog of applications, but eventually seems you’ll get it based on the number of foreigners with Kenyan passports
Oh, and for the record. The town/city that I was reared in came very close to being named "Little Nairobi", back in the later 60's, the town is East Palo Alto, Ca.
I disagree with her when she said, "Well, maybe we expect when you come here you'll drop the American and you'll just be Kenyan..." That's a very nice sentiment, but moving to Africa, or any country for that matter, is a huge undertaking and can be intimidating. When many foreigners move to the U.S. they either have family, friends or perhaps they at least know where their particular ethnic/cultural group is located, so they are able to connect with people with whom they're familiar and they can learn the in's and out's of the new culture from them. I feel the brother is correct in that each African country that is welcoming African-Americans to their country should have an African-American Association. It would make the process and transition much easier. It will also help safeguard the newcomers, to a degree, from being taken advantage of. Assimilation classes could be offered to help the newly arrived learn about and adjust to the culture, learn the language, learn where to go to take care of certain necessities like getting a vehicle, renting a house or apartment, healthcare, education, etc. I just think such an organization would be very beneficial and contact could be made before people leave their home countries. It would be a great business venture for anyone interested! Just think, one day you could have offices in every country in Africa, maybe even multiple offices in each country.
You have talk like 10000000 people we need to help our people moving back home thy need our love and we need them to so let join together and build back our kingdoms.
Hello, there’s this American guy in Dakar, Senegal name RJ Mahdi. Him and his team established an organization that does everything that you wrote about. It would be dope if more cities in the continent have organizations as such. Much love from NYC ✊🏿
Other major reasons why African Americans, African Caribbeans and African Latin-Americans etc. go to West Africa is that they have stronger genetic and cultural links to West Africa. They can trace their lineage to West Africa through historical records, genealogy tests and cultural links because that is where the Transatlantic slave trade took place. Everybody already knows that enslaved Africans were taken from many West African tribes to the Americas. The descendants of those enslaved Africans have always been able to trace remnants of West African cultural links in their food, song, dance, music, culture, words, phrases, attitudes, behaviors, stories and proverbs. It is so fascinating and interesting to learn about this history, to find your roots and to see the genealogical and cultural similarities. Also, many West African migrants have been living permanently and studying in America and in Europe for generations. There are African migrants from other parts of Africa who also live and study in America and Europe but the majority of the Africans come from West African countries. Huge numbers of West Africans migrate to the Americas and to Europe where they meet, make friends with and marry the descendants of enslaved Africans in those countries. By travelling back to West Africa, the story has become a full circle for many of these descendants. This amazing man in your video is doing a great job. It's rewarding and fulfilling to get to know your West African roots and also to travel and get to know other parts of Africa. Thank you African Tigress for this interview!
I enjoyed that conversation. Great to see brother Bahari founded a home in Kenya. Karibu Afrika! It is very sad to see a huge number of African Americans completely miseducated about Africa. Many more of them need to be just as BOLD as Bahari to take a trip to Mama Afrika to debunk the lies and fears they have been fed for generations in order to avoid the truth. Brother Bahari clearly did his homework and he was vastly informed about Kenyan immigration requirements. For the African American brothers and sisters planning to visit or settle in Kenya, here is a ton of advice. I am elated to see these brothers and sisters re-connecting to their roots.
Kenya is the best place to live if you have something small in your pocket yoi can easy multiple it into a huge amount and enjoy the land of Kenya. Currently I am in the US but I am soon retiring to my beloved country. Love you Jamhuri. Coming soon
I really enjoyed this video and I’m very excited with the thoughts of visiting Africa soon also Kenya was my first choice then some how I was told Ghana is better some how but your comments have made my understanding much easier and I’m more so attracted to the Kenya sceneries so I’m looking 👀 forward to maybe visiting Kenya soon
East africa is better as a whole especially kenya when you buy land its yours in your name no crap about other parties being on your deed. When buyimg land dont take shorts locals with try to entice you to do so follow the correct proceedures and all eill be ok. Its about using your due dilligence.
It seems as though the military vets can handle Africa due military discipline sort of like Africans have been in boarding School can take on the world .The experience is quite similar.
@Cart K funny you should mention military Veterans. I just explained to someone why I was moving to Ghana alone, using my military experience as to why it is so easy for me to move around and assimilate into different cultures.

Welcome to Kenya! You'll be surprised how much Jamaica is loved over here. Shout-out to my Jamaican colleagues I have met abroad! One love!
This guys is very informative. Great work African Tigress...love from 🇺🇬
The best place to retire is Kenya where you feel very happy and also classic infructratures
Ghana is also good for retirement.
Wherever resonates with your spirit
A good video. From my research I choose Kenya to re-locate as well. Thank you for confirming my decision.😊
welcome.
Karibu Kenya...we love you already
Watching this a year later. Did you make the move?
Welcome(karibu).
Kenya is beautiful and the people are friendly
Very nice interview sister, this brother seems very humble.
Excellent interview. Thank you!
Great interview, I like the diverse view point and experience from all the different expats it give us a better sampling to make as good of a decision in picking a country to relocate.
You are welcome
I plan on coming to Africa this year and I feel like I want to visit east africa instead of west africa because of the reasons this brother spoke of plus flights to Kenya from Boston or New York are around $700 dollars round trip during certain parts of the year.
My dear don't just dwell on an individual's experience because to each and their expectations and what makes them happy. So I will say visit east Africa, west Africa, southern Africa and central Africa to feel the vibe and the right country will choose you. Because I have also seen a lot of AA's who visited Kenya liked it but didn't connect to the vibe so do your research.
You are welcome to come to Kenya....
Karibu Kenya.
This is so good. Thank you for the comparisons. I have wanted to visit Africa, and entertaining the idea of relocating one day, but I need to learn more about the different countries and which would be best suited for me.
Kenya is a good choice plz
I would also recommend Uganda & Rwanda
Let's not sugar coat the experiences. I hear a lot of hedging on pro's and con's of living in African cities. We ain't thinned skinned. We know the struggle is real. As well, we don't want a lot of unskilled expats littering a continent that needs so much infrastructure. This ain't the place to come to play. WE got work to put in!
Very true fam....
I agree. We need to support African innovations even if the aesthetics are not the best. Africa for African
I LOVE that you need to learn the language and integrate into society properly for citizenship. Ninasema Kiswahili....kidogo....sivizuri sana! But I am going to Rwanda so I need to work on my Kinyarwanda!
They also speak swahili in rwanda
@@stanleymureithimukara6714 Not much of it. I think she needs French and kinyarwanda more than kiswahili. I would put learning kiswahili last, when you're settled. But Rwanda and Burundi French is more essential.
@@stanleymureithimukara6714 not enough, makes more sense to learn Kinyarwanda but because we will travel about Swahili will be useful.
The town/city that I was reared in came very close to being named "Little Nairobi", back in the later 60's, the town is East Palo Alto, Ca.
what was the reason for that choice of name? Many Kenyans or just the love for Kenya?

I appreciate this REAL TALK so much. Thank you!
Totally agree with him. Kenya is the place to be
I love the music. It's so African!
The first thing I will eat when I’m going to Ghana will be fufu and light soup, and peanut soup!
It's soooo nice.
The journey from Ghana to Kenya.
A story of cultural synthesis, entrepreneurial acumen, and a celebration of the best that both worlds have to offer.
@Wonder Boy exactly!
@Wonder Boy you need to change your mindset
Hello, there’s this American guy in Dakar, Senegal name RJ Mahdi. Him and his team established an organization that does everything that you wrote about. It would be dope if more cities in the continent have organizations as such. Much love from NYC ✊🏿
She was just joking my dear, she didn't mean it
I think Kenya is straight forward in some things.
Its because most of the govt processes s are digitised so it is hard for government workers to be corrupt
@@berylotieno276 Government workers are the Most Corrupt. They want you to Bribe them just so they can start attending to you.

Kenyan beaches are warm rather than cold depending on the season.
So true . Learning language is helpful. I love African Americans❤ May God protect them and hep them get comfort in any African country.
Kenya is the best place to live if you have something small in your pocket yoi can easy multiple it into a huge amount and enjoy the land of Kenya. Currently I am in the US but I am soon retiring to my beloved country. Love you Jamhuri. Coming soon

@Queen Of Sheba I tell every veteran that I meet to go get their money.
