The stupid justification for the no-sitting rule is that if you allow people to sit, they will desire to keep sitting even when they should get up and move to do their job--the way your parents or grandparents will sit down, and then call you from across the house to give them the remote, because they don't want to get up to even cross the room. Yeah sometimes people are lazy, sometimes they're just exhausted from standing all day and they'd be much more energetic if you'd stop being a jerk and let them sit when they can work while sitting. Sometimes they have injuries in their joints, bones, and tissues from standing all damn day when they don't have to. My feet, my knees, my hips, and my varicose veins would like a word with the boomers who think sitting looks lazy.

This is why the United States is not the greatest country in the world. A woman, single or otherwise, with no children should be able to live off of the minimum wage. She doesn't have a dependent yet, thus falls exactly into the category of workers that the federal minimum wage was meant to apply to: single people without dependents. The minimum wage was meant to be sufficient enough to allow someone who meets those criteria to feed and house themselves and themselves alone. It's important to remember that no two pregnancies are the same. Some people have easy pregnancies and don't require much, if any, accommodations. Other people may experience life-threatening pregnancy complications and need lots of support. And most pregnancies are somewhere in between the two extremes.

When I was a manager of a small boutique my staff was sitting since wee had no one in the store. Someone comes in sees they’re were sitting and felt like complaining to me about how lazy they were. There was no one in there why would they need to be standing?

On applications they ask: Can you do the job with or without reasonable accommodation?
If you DO need reasonable accommodation and say yes, they don't hire you.
If you need it and say no, then latter ask for the accommodation they FIRE you for lieing on the application.
Is there anyway to combat this. Corporate stunt?

If you cannot afford an attorney, you can file a complaint with the EEOC under the auspices of being disabled IF you are eligible.
It is a simple form and it helps if you can have a physicians note to validate your claims that it is always helpful. Remember you must let them know that you are disabled (there are requirements to fulfill this requirement) and request a reasonable accommodation. They should offer to meet to confer with you, BUT NEVER GO by yourself. Try to get a representative or shop steward or other person that has knowledge of this subject and discuss your situation ahead of time. BUT if you can get an attorney, at least talk to one and get their help. It is a process, but no matter how they seems to act, the employer or HR is NOT your friend.

I dont know how to phrase this question, but i was a manager at a BK and i found out i was pregnant with my second child. During the pandemic, the store is only allowed for 2 people to work at a time unless its our busy days: usually Fridays and Saturdays. About a month into my pregnancy I was getting sick every few minutes to the point where they were forced to send me home. One day, i called in letting the opening manager know that i can't come in because i couldn't hold anything - both food and liquids - down long enough to get me through my shift. In response, later that day i was fired for "not wanting to work"... So I'm wondering, am I in the wrong in this situation and if not, what can I do? Its been a couple of years and the same crew that i worked with don't work in that location anymore, so I don't even know if there's anything I can do.
