    Thanks for sharing this. I am in my trimester, contemplating to quit my current job because it is more straining, not getting enough rest, underpaid, and indeed frustrated.

    Hi, I just wanted to say that I found video very helpful! Along with reading articles, I always like watching visuals about what I'm researching. I'm 26 going into 27 weeks pregnant and my partner and I are very excited to bring my little girl earthside! However, I've been working at a place for about a year and want to transition into something new. I've been so nervous to make this huge step, but I figured I'd leave the job anyway most likely after my baby is here. Anyway, I won't write a whole story but thank you for this video to help me with my decision. I'm going to apply for some places and see what happens! :) Congrats on your bundle joy!

    I am having a really difficult time with this issue. I have a long history of recurrent miscarriage and loss. I've been at my current position for 4 years, and have been "stuck" here for at least 2 of those years because I'm really trying to have my second child, and it's not working out. However, I've been pregnant at least once per year that I've been here, I have 1 child, and I just can't let my family planning hold me back any longer.
    But how do I ensure that I will be eligible for maternity leave or FMLA leave when I haven't been in my position for a year? It's terrifying. I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant with my 10th child, and our last loss was twins that we lost at 22 weeks. My employer was fully aware of that pregnancy.
    What are folks like us to do?

    So some companies will offer maternity leave packages even if you don't qualify for FMLA ?? I'm 13 weeks & really wanting to switch jobs but scared i wont be allowed any leave after birth.

      Hello Ember! You can find more info in the corresponding blog post:
      www.cultivitae.com/how-to-job-hunt-while-pregnant/
      I recommend you check out Fairy God Boss and do some research to target companies that are proven to already have great policies for pregnant women in place, even if not FMLA specifically.

      Teachers get pregnant all the time and do just fine. Staff is usually super on board and very helpful. However, I would not recommend starting teaching if you have not done so before as there is a lot to learn and it is VERY stressful at first! (elementary - high school)

    • @SammMackey
      @SammMackey 3 года назад

      By Law yes. Maternity leave doesnt depend on the job, it depends on your governement/laws. I think its usually about 3 months or so?

    • @yumi7411
      @yumi7411 3 года назад

      @@SammMackey To be eligible, mothers need to work 1250 hours and a year. Then, they are covered by FMLA.
