My light was dimmer than I realized now that I see it in the video. On the way down it was getting pretty bad, but I have a backup for these occasions. Bring 2 lights! And I had my bivvy just in case. I always bring it now, Mt Whitney taught me that one. It got cold on this hike but I had an extra jacket too. Now that I'm thinking about it....things I always have in my pack: - more water than I should need - bivvy - light - basic first aid kit - extra food (bar, a tuna pouch and usually trail mix) - S.O.S. device for longer or more remote areas - extra jacket depending on weather
Great video on night hiking! Didn’t expect it to become a comedy near the end. 😂 We couldn’t stop laughing @ 4:24. Even we were shocked to hear the random voice. Thanks for sharing hiking content!
Ya that was funny, I never saw who it was, just a silhouette for a second or two. I was thinking "Oh great this person heard me talking to my camera the whole time!" Was a fun little hike, thanks for the comment!
I never even saw her was so funny. She was right below me on the rocks. I felt like a dork talking to my camera but I'm used to it now. Being a dork I mean. Hah. Ya the kids were great. I saw 2 other women with 3 very young girls about 10 minutes earlier, all bundled up with lights on their heads. So cute! Having fun. I saw a lot of people on their way down. Very popular hike.
I love night hiking, I do it often but it is wise to do a night hike with a partner not do it alone, depends on the environment you are in, in my case in swamp Florida night hikes should not be done solo..lol
Ya I hear that! I saw so many people until I got close to the top. This hike is very popular always full of people. There may be a mountain lion or two, mostly deer and cows.

Very cool. That's hilarious running into that group. I should try some night hiking sometime. Nice pics at the end.
Thanks man. I ran into a few coyotes up close today...next vid! Couldn't believe it.
I suppose it is good to get some night treks in. The kids were cute 😅 Nice night views! 😊 OMG!! That voice scared me, too 😂
