- Phew this one took a while to pull together! This video is the 4th in my series on the history of Casio and covers both their digital watches and analog watches between the years 2000-2009. Highlights along the way are the WMP-1 MP3 player watch, the WQV wrist camera series, various iterations of wave captor - including the Antman , the Mission Impossible 3 watch - watches that do magic tricks for you (the MGC-10) , polygon tough , active dial , tough movement , Oceanus and all sorts of colours and materials - with the highlight for being being the G-7800 square - and possibly the speed pass collaboration - so cool! (I bought one... whoops). . Some real diamonds amongst the rough so I hope you enjoy the video.

11:23 I've got one of these in 2019, didn't know they were this old. Gread vid by the way, I'm watching the whole series :)
Ah yes - the polygon tough - very cool. Hope you are enjoying the series!
I really missed out on these Casio and G-Shock watches of the 90s and 2000s, and I don't know what they look like. I wish I could travel back in time.
2000s and Casio.
Two of my favorite things.
Absolutely. Two great things!
As usual your research are perfects, this episode was amazing, thanks for hosting this !
Glad you enjoyed it! Must admit this one took me a while! Sooooo many modules!
As always, absolutely brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. It was like a roller coaster ride through my childhood obsession with Casio's and G-Shocks.
Thankyou sir! Too kind!!
Awesome informative video again. I look forward to seeing the 2010's next.
Don’t worry plenty more casio and digital content!
I can watch you channel for hours.
That’s so kind of you to say. I’m just finishing up my next video on racing digitals that I’m really pleased with. Plenty of casio!
Thank you! Amazing episode!
First time seeing a lot of these watches 😮
Really love your channel mate. Top notch content and information
That’s really kind of you to say. Thanks so much!
@@IlluminatingWatches no worries mate. I can tell you enjoy making these videos too :)
Fantastic video! Gshock Antman!
I know right! Super cool. I love the spinning numbers display
Very nice look back great video didn't realize half those watches were even ever around good work
Thankyou! 2000-2010 a period that doesn’t come up so much as it’s between vintage and modern
Great content! i was upset at the end it seems there are no videos on Casio EF-516D-4AV. Red Dial. i just bought me one. hate to see not many know about it ! great watch
Oh cool!! Sorry for the omission. I’ve always struggled to get my head around the full edifice catalog!
@@IlluminatingWatches Amazing job bro! very informative
Casios are unique, they created a total different categories, so not only technical innovation but also marketing/product wise.
I know - there are so many different aspects to their history that it’s a topic I keep coming back to.
Very interesting & very well researched as always.
Thoroughly enjoyable.👍
Thankyou!!
If you have a WQV camera-watch, do NOT lose the rubber O-ring that's used to hold the battery cover firmly. Seeing this vdeo reminded me of a friend's Casio camera-watch, and he lost the battery cover O-ring. I can still remember in 2003 going to the Casio Service Centre on the North Circular Road in London. replacement not available t, even after they enquired with Casio HQ in Tokyo.
Oh dear that’s not good. That is such a little piece of history. I didn’t know casio had a service centre in the UK. Assume not there anymore?
So happy to see you do the 2000s! Some really nice looking models I wasn’t aware of previously. The call of that all digital Edifice is almost too much to bare 💸😂
Awesome video as always 👏👏👏👏
Thanks man! I finally got to it. Yeh tell me about it. That’s the problem with doing these videos - too many cool watches I want!
Outstanding video and research, as usual, and spot on for us casio fans out there. Those outgears and duro200 are amazing, and the oceanus is my grail watch as a diehard casio fan. Thank you so much for sharing your work, I hope that you get the subscribers and likes that you very well deserve. Greetings!
Thankyou! Good to have an analog Casio fan in the subscribers! I’m not so worried about loads of subscribers etc - I’ll carry on making anyway!
Looking forward to watching this later in the day; thank you for your labor, excellent videos, and the research to make them. :)
I really hope you enjoy and thanks so much as always !!
@@IlluminatingWatches I just finished a first watch thru, and have it saved with my watch history content. You are very valuable to those who appreciate watches and their history. Thank you again for your work. :)
Another great video
Thanks! I hope you are enjoying the series!
Another excellent video, I noticed a few of my watches in there. There's quite a few in your list I'd like but I guess they are very hard to find (and expensive)🤔🙂
Looking forward to your next one 👍
You can see why I kept commenting on your IG posts now!! You influenced the W-96 inclusion
@@IlluminatingWatches thanks, it's a bit standard/boring compared to some of the other examples but is well designed for being just a really useful watch 👍
@@timtimecollector9808 there’s beauty in all the different types!
@@IlluminatingWatches yes agreed 👍
At this point you might as well do the 2010s, right? Well, I'd like to see it either way. :D
Admittedly, I haven't had a new Casio watch since probably the '80s or early '90s. I had Timex ones since then, but I'm about to remedy that in short order with an A700W-1ACF (it looks so stunning and vintage I couldn't resists) and probably a new F-91W. Cheers.
Ha ha yes it’s in the list. These Casio videos are the ones that take the longest so need to pick the right week to dive in. I’m a fan of Timex and Casio - so much fun to be had with digitals.
You showned the referee timer with "Phys" it is another casio release series that are mostly jdm only,,,
I have the stw-1000 which features solar, mb6
Apologies if I’ve misrepresented! Oh that’s cool!
Where have you been? Was waiting for your video
Ha ha my apologies! This one took a while. Hopefully worth the wait!!
@@IlluminatingWatches it was definitely worth the wait. Spotted some Casio's that I own. I also have a Dw3000 but cannot find videos on that one. Love Casio's.
Really glad you enjoyed it!!!
Just bought a GW-9101K
Oh nice! I’ve never owned a gulfman
Hey,you forgot the G2000!
Really missed the GW-M5600/5610.
Casio 80-90😊😊😊casio 2000-2023😢😢😢
True but there is the occasional good one!
Push ⬆️
You skipped so many models, many databanks, touch screen models etc :( all g-shocks :(
Sorry I know I couldn’t cover everything !! I had a huge excel of all the watches and had to make some judgement calls to keep the video at a reasonable length
SO many pieces I've never seen before! Your deep dives are SOO great! Keep 'em coming!
Thanks Norman ! There was a looooot of rubbish too though. About 80 modules per year X 9 years! That’s without the different colours and variants!
@@IlluminatingWatches wow! Yeah
Oooo I LOVE the Polygon Tough!! Nice!
Yes right! The negative display isn’t super duper legible , but it looks cool
@@IlluminatingWatches Oh yes - I've owned a neg display and can second that.
