Greetings from Chilly Wisconsin. I sold my 2018 Gold Wing and purchased the 2024 edition, so I lucked out there. Hopefully, this repair will go well for you and others so the stress can disappear! Kind regards.
Hey Mark, Great to hear from ya- Congrats on that 2024 Wing 🪽 May luck always be at your back! We just watched your Africa Twin stop sale video - Yeah, we’re really good at whining- but we our Goldwing was the first in the US to report engine shut down issues at 400 miles, which turned into a giant software recall for the 2021 manual wings… But Honda always steps up! Have a great holiday- Stay warm
We feel the love and joy all the way here! You’re the best! Thank you as always for helping support our channel- Have a blessed holiday season and a prosperous new year
Thanks Team. Always appreciate your commentary and PSA’s. Yeah it’s a bummer. I’m real good with my 22. No hiccups thankfully. Hoping you guys come up with a plan you can be happiest with. Life is way too short. Ya gotta ride what makes you smile for many miles. Peace
We agree with your sentiment - life is way too short to be unhappy with what you ride! We soooo appreciate your good vibes and support- You’re the best! Happy Holidays to you and yours and tell the same to the breakfast crew over there 👉
Waiting for your decision on the upcoming 2025 Goldwing. Max will solve the day, but one mistake would call for a complete engine rebuild.... Nope. Bike would go to the dealership. Get that 2025 whenever it comes out. Good update guys.
Hey there ! Thanks for checking out the video! We can’t imagine have any nails left, bringing this bike to the dealership as we would be too nervous! Definitely waiting to see what’s up with year 2025 - Grateful for your time and support of our channel.
Yep - we figured folks may freeze graze the video and dove deeper if they feel so inclined to learn more- Thx for sharing this heads up with our community- And for taking to write in-
@@MiddleAgeRoadRage I'm kidding, I'm not stressed but that engine diagram was like "WOW!" LOL Outreach will be great this season! I hope you both have an amazing Christmas and holiday season!!!! Much love to you and all the middle-aged road ragers!!!!
We appreciate your confident point of view. Let’s hope it’s easy for everyone involved. Will you be handling your own maintenance on this issue? Or taking it in? Thx for watching and writing.
@@MiddleAgeRoadRage I was going to replace the UBS bolt myself. It's not a bad job. I had bought the bolt. washer and clutch cover gasket. Then the rumblings of a recall started. So I haven't messed with it. Needs to have the fuel pump recall done. So I will let my dealer take care of it. What issues have you had with your bike? I haven't put a lot of miles on mine because it's boring as hell to ride solo. So I'm on my Yam MT-09 having a good time. Wings a two up mile eater...
Im stressed to do a ton of these recalls and lose my ass… lol flat rate times dont pay…. I should do a how to video when i do a few….. at least honda did it to the dealers in slow season
Wow- sounds like you’re a pro. That would be very helpful actually- And by the looks of yer channel, if you drop the bolt, You can recover it quickly! 🤣 Thanks for watching and writing in …
No, it does not- in the engine would have to be pulled is if the bolt did eject, however with the tool there is no need to pull the motor unless and this is a big unless the tack were to accidentally drop the tool into the motor and then it would have to be pulled to be retrieved so if all goes well, nobody should have any worries. Yeah, hold on to your current year model. You’ve got many more miles and smiles to go with your ride. Thank you for taking time to view the video and connect with us. We appreciate hearing from members of the Goldwing community.
@MiddleAgeRoadRage Yeah my '07 is barely broken in but the Gen 6 I've had my eye on,, the newer ones are obviously nice and what I like is the new gearbox 6-speed with quieter gears.. it's nice to know if I pull the trigger it will have to be at least a '22 now to avoid this whole Monkey Business...
Hey- happy to hear at least something moving along…
And we are happy to hear from you
Hey guys thank you for sharing this update.

@@newyorkerinvegas glad you’re doing beautiful community work/play-
And…yeah that thing is like a schematic from the Enterprise!
The conn rod bearing is what you make the tool with. Just pack the open areas off with towels and replace the bolt..... It wont be a bad job.....

I'll keep my '07 w/ only 15k miles 😅.. So this new tool that needs to be fabricated does the engine still need to be removed even with that tool?
No, it does not- in the engine would have to be pulled is if the bolt did eject, however with the tool there is no need to pull the motor unless and this is a big unless the tack were to accidentally drop the tool into the motor and then it would have to be pulled to be retrieved so if all goes well, nobody should have any worries.

The solution is get an Indian 😎
If I didn’t know any better, I might think that you are biased towards Indian Motorcycles. 🏍️
