I didn’t know you have a second channel! Sarah, I love your artwork, and it inspires me, too. Now I can appreciate your artful life! Thank you for hanging out and sharing; I was smiling this entire video. Subscribed. ❤
I am new to your channel and I wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying it. I am home sick with a cold at the moment, and watching your channel is so relaxing and beautiful. I particularly appreciate the background music you use. It is calm, relaxing, and non-intrusive. Happily, it isn't louder than the dialogue. I am a Canadian, married to an English husband from Lancashire. He spent 9 years in the British army and was stationed often in Scotland. He loves it and says if he won the lottery that is where we would move. I spent 10 days in Aberdeenshire at Castle of Park at a writing retreat/course near the village of Cornhill. The course was held in the fall and I totally understand your comments about the beauty of that region in the autumn. I am looking forward to watching all of your vlogs. Your art is stunning. I love watercolours. Cheers.
You have no idea how relaxing is watching you do your gardening. I live in a condo in Florida, where we’re not allowed to even have one pot with a plant in it. I truly miss getting my hands in my garden and enjoying the smells of the fresh spring air, and the dirtand the birds chirping and the bees buzzing. So watching this video is very relaxing.
Love the amount of care and consideration given to introducing Akira to Floki; it’s a huge change for both of them. They’ve really hit the feline jackpot, being included in your household! Also: now I want a power washer, and a courtyard to use it on. :)
The nice thing about a free standing umbrella as opposed to a table one is that you can move it around for shade in different spaces and working in the garden. I've always thought it was a charming little patio. Looking forward to what you do with it for this growing season.
I love the caring way you introduced Floki to your new kitten! May they enjoy each others’ company in a short time. Love that cat tree - and so does Floki - wow!! ❤
Thank you for sharing the first days and weeks with Akira and Floki ... so heartwarming to see the family coming together!! I am with you on the satisfaction of a pressure washer! Like @GrandmaMuggy ... I am a bit overwhelmed with acreage and envious of your courtyard space!! *** 2nd in cleaning satisfaction for me is a steamer. I was introduced to steam cleaning somewhere ??? a few years ago and game changer for kitchen, bathroom and my wood floors (not solid wood) ... clean with no chem! Happy Spring to you, Wolfie, Floki and Akira!!
Ohh a steamer sounds great for the bathroom. I hate chemicals and it really bothers me so I typically use less powerful stuff which often means I'm cleaning more often. I need to look into a steamer now!
@@sarahinscotland Steamers "eat dirt and scum" ... srsly. Now, I have had 4. First (cheap) I used until it died. 2nd I went big as in pressure washer sized as my thinking was that I could fill and do the whole house. BUT, what happened is I put off getting it out as it was a bit of a production. 3rd and 4th: small hand held for quick cleanups and a steam mop. Both 3 & 4 easy to get out and do one room or even just counters, etc.
Powerwash Simulator is SO satisfying! Also super relaxing. Which is what makes it so dangerous. You get almost hypnotized by the soothing "psssssssshhhhhhhhhhh" of the washer, and the next thing you know it's 4 hours later. 😂 Akira has quite the motor on him! Loud purrs are best purrs. 😍 Can't wait to see what sorts of troub...I mean adventures he and Floki end up getting into together. ❤
It was so lovely to watch you guys introduce the two cats and when I thought it couldn't get any better you brought out the gardening and power washing 🤩. There are channels on you tube dedicated just to clearing overgrown gardens and/or power washing pavements and driveways. I never thought that could become my guilty pleasure (together with endless cat videos :D )
Hi Sarah, thank you for sharing bits of your life. Isn’t it funny how people, who are total strangers, like to watch what other people do. And of course we all have opinions. Haha! I’ll share mine but I think it’s more of a suggestion about patio furniture. I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest (USA) and outdoor wood furniture just doesn’t hold up to our weather unless it is covered. I’ve resorted to using metal outdoor furniture because it doesn’t rot. Anyway, it’s something to think about. Enjoy the day!
You're right, and as much as I love wood furniture it's just not going to last here. I really wanted some plush rattan chairs and bench but the higher quality ones are out of my budget (even used)
lovely fur baby. I had my grandkids in my craft room and their choice was to paint, so of course we did. One of our 3 cats, aptly named Trouble, entered into the fun, insisting on some petting between brush strokes. After the kids went home, I noticed mysterious blue pawprints on a few of our masterpieces and further exam of Trouble found her sporting blue paw pads along with random blotches of blue on her back compliments of loving pats from our young artists. We have a log home built by my husband with open rafters and basically it is a big cat climber.
Your courtyard looks amazing, I've been watching that Japanese quince blossom for several springs now, such an elegant plant! As soon as I get to doing the front garden I gonna get some for me, for sure ! New fur baby 😍...I mean, how much more adorable can you get! It looks like they are going to be the best friends in no time at all, no cat is going to groom another one if they disliked each other! That would be counterproductive and totally not "cat". I love your videos because I always learn something new, this time it was your embroidery, never seen anything like that before. I know Chinese embroiderers do landscapes, basically, painting with threads, but yours is totally different and so you, love it! Amazing work! P.S.: a little bit worried about that plan of making a table with, basically, a hammer and nothing else, but, on the other hand, I have faith in you and am pretty sure, that you are capable of doing anything you envision and do it well!
Isn't the red stunning? It really brings life back into the courtyard in early spring and makes me so happy! I can't wait until the Welsh poppies bloom- each year they seem to come back in greater abundance

Sarah, here in the Pacific Northwest, USA, I run into problems with pottery cracking during the winter.. and it has to do with water ..and freezing. Here’s what I do. I empty out the pot and bag up the dirt ..if there’s a plant I need to save, I bag up the dirt around it and put the plant in the shed where it can still get light. I then clean out the container and turn it upside down. I let it drain ..and completely dry out..and cover the drain hole with saran wrap and then turn it right side up ..and fill it with newspaper ( you could fill it with Styrofoam peanuts or any of those kinds of things as well) . I seal the top with some more saran wrap and a bit of twine and then turn it upside down again and set it in the shed…if you leave it outside, you’ll need to wrap it in burlap with a few more layers of newspaper around it. If your shed freezes, I would say put more newspaper underneath the pot. This should save the ceramic/pottery container. My temperatures here range from 15° to 30°F and sometimes we get a little lower than that. ❤️

Thanks for a very enjoyable video. What a lovely addition Akira is to your family. And it looks like your process of introducing Floki and Akira is a success. Well done! The garden is looking very nice. Looking forward to seeing its progress. We were losing our snow but unfortunately we are now expecting 14” tonight & tomorrow. Ugh!😩. I am so done with winter!!
Everyone tells us how smart they are, and very "trainable." I can tell..he is already playing fetch, knows how the doors work, and how to get our attention by pawing things we use all the time (computer, tv, mugs, remotes, phones, etc)
Cat videos. Always fun. I found a guy awhile ago that made videos about power washing cemetery markers and monuments. Like you said, it was very satisfying to watch. LOL Weird! LOL
Who knew we were getting a bonus power washing video? 😄 Have you seen the channels on RUclips that are dedicated to watching someone power wash? It is kind of addicted to watch. I love watching your videos. I'm in Dallas, and you are living out one of my fantasies. Moving to Scotland is one of them. You have beautiful cats.
Have eventually caught up with your video. I’m sure the way you say kitten has a bit of a Scottish twang about it now. You will be speaking teuchter in no time 😂. Also when you come down this way if you want some company honestly just give me a shout. I would be more than happy to tour you around the unusual little spots.
I LOVE the new kitten and how puffy Floki was, haha! We have our new kitten who is almost a year old now and we are thinking of getting her a baby sister. We have Norman who is almost 13, Nellie will be 1 and baby on the way??? :)
Floki is only 4, and still has kitten-like tendencies, especially when he's outside. So having a playmate will be really good for him. Even though it will take a while we know he is social. He even befriended the neighborhood cats. They sit together outside, it's so cute!
This was strangely satisfying to watch you power wash. 😊Rab
I knew some people would get it!
I love that you honored Floki so lovingly throughout this process ❤

Loved everything about this video. Prayers for your growing family, to have a very blessed and peaceful weekend, and Spring season! 😽🍃✝️
Love your new wee cat!!
Well done on clearing and cleaning the yard! Satisfying to watch 😊
Your embroideries are beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! 😊
Blue pt Siamese are so sweet and smart I have had 2 in the past they are such characters
LOL Weird! LOL
Ha! There's a video about everything isn't there...
Yea after posting this video RUclips started recommending those videos to me 😂
I didn’t know you had a second channel! I loved watching your cats introduction.
Welcome!
You inspired me to get a go with our dirt in the backyard
Have eventually caught up with your video. I’m sure the way you say kitten has a bit of a Scottish twang about it now. You will be speaking teuchter in no time 😂. Also when you come down this way if you want some company honestly just give me a shout. I would be more than happy to tour you around the unusual little spots.
your courtyard looks amazing ❤
I LOVE the new kitten and how puffy Floki was, haha! We have our new kitten who is almost a year old now and we are thinking of getting her a baby sister. We have Norman who is almost 13, Nellie will be 1 and baby on the way??? :)
Good idea, I think young cats have a much easier time adjusting
Why did you get a second cat? Just interested in the cat dynamics when an older cat has a new cat to live with in an indoors situation.
Floki is only 4, and still has kitten-like tendencies, especially when he's outside. So having a playmate will be really good for him. Even though it will take a while we know he is social. He even befriended the neighborhood cats. They sit together outside, it's so cute!
Male cats will fight and mark territory unless one is fixed.
I’m curious about income taxes, do you have to pay in both countries?
