I'm amazed at what an impact long-term stress can cause (even short term). I am learning to recognise when it's happening. In a way it feels like being slowly poisoned.
Oh my word, my husband and I also had to do life in the UK tests, so we feel your pain! We also had to do English exams though, as we’re from South Africa - which is so funny as everyone can speak English there! I understand exactly what you mean about stress relating to visas! Sarah, I had a nervous breakdown in 2021, coz they made a mistake on my naturalisation certificate and I couldn’t get my passport, I cannot even tell you the stress I went through, and when dealing with anything bureaucratic, you can’t get any updates and you just have to wait! It’s dreadful, I really feel for you, but what I can say is this: you have done everything legally, and there is no reason for you to not be approved. You’ve done everything the right way, and you’ll be fine!❤

I can’t believe how challenging and expensive it is for you to go through this whole visa process. Talk about stress!!! I look forward to you sharing your ideas on how to get through the winter months. Every year I find it harder and harder to get through the cold, wet of west coast Canada winters. I keep busy with teaching drawing and painting classes locally to get out of the house and motivates me to work in the studio more. Maybe the Scotland tourist bureau should be paying you to do these fabulous videos of Scotland! Enjoyed this Vlog immensely. Look forward to the next one. By the way, Wolfie is such a perfect partner for you…tell him how special he is every day!
I think one of my biggest struggles with winter is that my usual routine of staying healthy (cardio/workout) is hiking and cycling, but there are so many bitterly cold/wet days in winter that make me dread going outside. So I feel less healthy for lack of exercise. Last winter I hired a personal trainer which helped tremendously but it's a huge expense. I am still figuring out what I want to do this winter

The Visa process in Scotland sounds incredibly daunting! At least you’re done all the work at this point, so you don’t have to be thinking about more “to do” list items and you’re in the final waiting period (although, at least to-do’s are distracting 😅). Will be thinking positive thoughts and hope that you’ll hear the results soon so the worrying can be done!! Loved seeing all the beautiful footage and gorgeous scenery as always! The bike course sounds like a great idea for the types of terrain you encounter 😊

Oh boy That visa process do seem super stressful. I’m living in my partner’s country on a temporary visa so I really relate to the feeling that the life I know here could be taking away any day. I’m also trying to enjoy every moment and make the most of it! Beautiful and interesting vlog as usual!
Its a very uneasy feeling. Funny thing is my friends who have been coming to Scotland for over 2 decades said that they knew people who just showed up and got residency without an issue. The system has changed a lot and now in many countries it's a case of proving you're not evil and can support yourself..then maybe you'll be welcome.

I can only imagine what joy floods your being as you make your way around whilst the heather is in bloom!!! Is it as fragrant as I am imagining? You and Wolfie are so good together!!! Sarah where do you store all your photos? Do you just use a hard drive or do you use Google? It’s a big problem for me. You just keep buying storage space and hope that the company doesn’t cave one day?
I store everything on hard drives (physical backup), plus I upload a 'web size' version to my google drive (I have the upgraded 2 TB plan), plus I upload ALL my videos/photos to my dropbox business account. I've lost hard drives before and now I am very careful.
Can I ask what visas you have had? We are trying to move over there but don’t know where to start on which visa! We assume trying to find a sponsor for work but is there an easier way?
