    Robbie I have a couple young fruit trees and am using the two bucket system for both feeding and watering them. I have buckets with holes around the bottom then I added kitchen scraps and garden waste. I put another bucket on top with herbs and just water the top bucket, it drips down into the bottom bucket and waters and feeds the fruit trees at the same time. This two bucket system is amazing I love it.

      I think Gary does that in his garden, so the bottom bucket is always feeding the plants around them, I do that too, Love it, THANKS

    Thank you for sharing your ideas and how to set up the systems you created for watering and feeding your plants. 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
    So far this year I have harvested tomatoes, zuchinni, cucumbers, onions, bell peppers, and cubanelle peppers. I am making fajitas tonight with my home grown organic vegetables. I am so thankful I found your channel! Thank you for the work you put into the videos to help us get growing. I have adopted you. Lol. You're my RUclips Aunt. 😁
    Whenever anyone asks me how I got started or how I figured out how to do stuff, I just say Aunt Robbie taught me. (Because your accent reminds me of my aunt from LA Mesa. I hope you are always as happy as your videos make me feel.

    I love this ideal with the hose, sometimes I remove the buckets underneath my tote with tomatoes plants & dump that “tea” in with my newly planted zucchini; yep I put the two system in there. We don’t unfortunately garden all year here in Indiana bc the winters R too cold.

    I really like your system. I do a much more simple version with just the tote with a lid and a bucket to catch water. Once or twice a month I add food scraps and cover with a layer of leaves. Whenever I want to fertilize, I pour a bucket of water and catch the liquid. I usually dilute with 3 parts water. My plants love it!

    It's funny because my compost spinner that I got BEFORE I started watching your compost in place videos, seems to have a couple of leaks. I put a couple of containers under it in those spots to catch the compost tea coming from there. Talk about getting lemonade from lemons - that's what those leaks are to me! :)

    Thank you for that new information about turmeric. No wonder I could not find my turmeric at harvest time. I have to go back and do another search at the bottom of the container.

    Neat way to fertilize your vegetables. Do you and Gary have fruit trees that you fertilize? I hear that Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia diversifolia) is a good one for fruit trees and pound for pound as good as chicken fertilizer. You grow it and chop it and put under your trees. It grows fast and comes back after a freeze.

    I started a container with yard waste and kitchen scraps after the mulch on the bottom. Bought some very marked down torn bags to make soil. Added perlite, some 10-10-10 with minors fertilizer. It's all cooking in the Florida heat & humidity and rains. Will plant next month under tulle.
    Do you still attach the metal stakes to the tote?

    Grass clippings generally count as green matter, right? Do they qualify as brown if left to dry out for a few weeks?

    • @Gallasl666
      @Gallasl666 2 года назад +1

      From my understanding. Green matter is what adds nitrogen. Browns add carbon. So Id say no to that.

    I have flowers that I gather leaves that fall off or I prune. These are poisonous. Does it matter if I use it for compost? Or for making compost “tea”? I want to do the double pot method and add these leaves to that.
