Because they say so. sorry to say. I hate it too having had 4 major eye surgeries I need to keep 'glare of lights' out of my eyes but, every time I am ON SET or Audition, TAKE GLASSES OFF. I also worked with Al Pacino on a movie and kept my SUNGLASSES (prescription) ON in a Night-scene. A No-No. But, the LIGHTS and 5 cameras were killing my eyes but, director walked over and asked, 'How long you had those sunglasses on ?' Response; 40 MINUTES lol He was upset but, left me on set and IN THE SCENE. Many are not so lucky. They get thrown off set. It's the game. The business. THEY SAY WHAT THEY WANT. Not us. Good luck. Pacino once told me, Preparation and LUCK made him a Legend. period. nuff said.
