That’s sorta what jazz is. Good to see modern musicians are still bringing that genre to today’s listeners. A little Coltrane type shifting between melodies.
@@littlelamb2112 jazz is going back into the mainstream slowly. With some people adding jazz improv in their music like Charlie Puth and some doing bossa nova nowadays like the song "Girl From Brazil" which was huge which samples "The Girl From Ipanema" It's here, people are slowly starting to appreciate it in the mainstream and using it to make pop lmao, it's all good tho, music is varied and that's why it's fun.😅

I had to cut it off at 0:46, WWAAAAAY too much syrup in this boy's playing. The Doctor told me to cut down on the sugar intake, and Cory was just gonna throw me into the most insane BINGE!! MY GOD THIS BOY CAN PLAY A PIANO!
A Letter to Cory Henry: I hear you Cory! And I want to whole world to hear you! Your music truly comes from the Soul! It is cleansing and healing and what the entire world needs right now! I am an older lady who had been following your career for many years! So, when I finally heard you would be in Chicago, performing at Millenium Park, I went downtown! The crowd consisted of every kind of people! They were all vibing together on one accord. It's like the entire Chicago stopped the violence, and all the other negativity during your performance! Your music brought our segregated city together like I have never seen before! I offered to take you and your band to dinner sometime and you said you would hold me to it! We will surely be anticipating your return to Chicago someday! You were so gracious and even took a picture with me, as we lined up to buy your album! Thanks and God Speed to you, your band the Funk Apostles, and your entire listening audience!
This man has got to be named a national treasure. Really, an International treasure, but the world is hardly ready to get organized for that. And arguing against that international recognition thing, the travel might just wear him out sooner. Better that he should get to live comfortably and go where he wants to go, and continue playing. Stay healthy and carry on, Mr. Henry.
Simply anointed! He plays with such passion that 'it seems' that he brings tears to his own eyes. Always keep God first and remember that only what you do for Christ will last. Love ya DOC :-)
Funny you say this because I saw Cory live and he did get moved to tears by the end of the performance. He brings the spirit to this world strongly, no doubt!
I got mad respect for this guy Cory is simply incredible. New York's got it going on with all of these stellar first class musicians. Great musicality, perfect pitch, great timing, approach, discipline, & just pure enthusiasim makes a great musician.

Amazing grace;how sweet the sound. This is where we church folks came from.this is the heart and soul of the church; where God brought us from,Amen somebody.
Sam Cooke Lol that’s literally the only thing he’s doing that isn’t genius. I’m pretty sure tapping your foot while playing isn’t very challenging or even innovative.
He makes it look simple, but there is so much knowledge and skill! And, of course, feeling and control - he always knows exactly where he is and where he is heading to. Of course, he does not go a straight line, he may spontaneously sway, or even change the destination but always staying in control. He just breathes and sings, not plays.
Boy I wish I could play like him for real for real! I've started playing when I was nine years old. And I kinda lost track as I got older. So y'all pray for me that I be as good as cory henry on the piano, organ ,and keyboard.
He’s crying at the end because he truly played unto the One who gave him the gift. Jesus Molina does the same. Both are Christians. AMAZING talent and skill.
Cory is such an amazingly talented musician that he leaves you delightfully shaking your head from the disbelief of how good he really is. Such an incredible talent.
Man I watch so much of Cory video I'm obsessed lol. Brother your parents would be proud of you. God bless you Cory Henry. I pray I can play half as good as you one day
I think the phrase pure genius gets thrown around a lot, and it now has not enough meaning to convey how I feel about what I just heard. Bravo, Cory Henry. You are a true master of your craft.
I truly believe some people just come on youtube or social media sites just to hit the "dislike" button. How can anyone seriously hear this & dislike it? This guy is beyond amazing & humble. Dislike or hate on people who suck or are overjoyed, not on great artists. Cory is already in his short life one of the GREATEST to ever do it. A true prodigy. Let's celebrate & appreciate this musical genius.
One other thing! I read some of the other commnets. They were finding it difficult with trying to describe what they heard while listening to Cory. Basically what he does is "indescribably other worldly and anointed. I read somewhere that both his parents are deceased! I think they both died when he was quite young. They were both in the church and I thought I also read his mom was a pianist. Apparently, he was raised by his grandmother! There is a video of him sitting at the organ at about 5 or 6 years old! I think his mother is shone standing near him in the background. I have never met his parents, but somehow I imagine both his parents still watching and protecting him! There was an unusual aura hovering over Millenium Park as I heard him perform with his band, The Funk Apostles! The entire world should have been listening! That concert brought a lot of different types of people together in the segregated and violent City of Chicago, Illinois! I hope the world will continue listen to and support all the concerts of Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles. We anticipate his return to Chicago Someday! God Speed, Cory!
Here's the thing: It is difficult enough to play the piano that well, and with such dynamic range. But Cory also plays organ---which is entirely different in so many ways. To master both is beyond incredible--and he does it like its nothing. Pure, undeniable genius.
The piano sounds in the hands of Cory like it doesn't in any other person's hands. There's something about this style of articulating music that piano trained players don't explore. It's the fluidity of chord transitions that prepares complex runs to explode with immense dexterity, it's where words don't describe the whole package he's able to deliver!
Corey is a master at staying inside the song while exploring the fringes!
Well said!
