I loved it. Is it derivative and full of comic book movie tropes, but it was hilarious, heartwarming, & a total blast.
I'm probably gonna see this either Saturday or Sunday. Hope it's really as good as everyone says it is. Also to avoid spoilers goodbye Internet. I'll come back after I see this movie.

It did not feel like 2 hours and 7 and if I really invested in the story and I really love it the time flies
great review, and i really do hope that so many people can go out and support this movie, the DC Universe as a whole hasn't had many wins in a very long time, and considering that the DCEU is finished, i hope this can be a success opening weekend so that more blue beetle movies can happen in James Gunn's DCU
will be watching this!
As a Hispanic male i definitely saw this Thursday evening
I definitely got all the if you grew up Hispanic in the 70’s or 80’s references like Chapulín Colorado, the novelas, the music, the Mexican slag words that doesn’t get the same feeling if u just read the subtexts, there are certain words that doesn’t quite translate well, in Spanish it has more feeling due the pronunciation and how it’s said but if you just read it and don’t understand the culture or language it will come across flat and uninteresting. I’m sure it will alienate a lot of people since the family say Spanish dialogue and doesn’t get translated on screen so yeah sorry not sorry
I'm mexican but white washed and I got every reference I teared up three times...
I grew up around the same time and got all the references to Maria la del Barrio, Chapulin Colorado, etc.
really enjoyed this film…and yeah, sorry not sorry too 😊
The slang, the references to Latino culture, the action, and family dynamic made this movie great!

Just saw it and I kinda wish the dceu had started off with these kinds of popcorn flix. My only person grip was I wish Ted Kord could have been here. But maybe it would have felt like a Keaton Batman situation. Still I loved this iron Spider/ power ranger/ venom kinda superhero.
Popcorn flick’s 🤮 sounds like a waste of money. I go to the movies to watch a great movie not a popcorn flick.

nice that it's really good, i think the hate it recieves online is too much and most of it coming from people who hasn't even seen or plan on seeing the movie. i'll be seeing it this weekend and i'm so excited.

Under Ángel Manuel Soto’s direction, Blue Beetle is a superhero movie that sets itself apart within the bloated genre through the deeply connected bonds of Jaime and the Reyes family. Xolo Maridueña is wonderfully cast, able to convey Jaime’s reluctance toward superhero-dom and the fierce protectiveness he feels for his family and community. His Mexican-American identity isn’t just set-dressing, it’s vital to the character and the plot of the film. Though genre cliches and the villain’s relatively uninteresting motivation impede the momentum of the third act, the emotional force behind the movie is enough to make it worth a watch.
It’ll be awesome ❤

She was God awful in this movie.
This movie was fire as fuck. This was DC’s best movie in the past five-ish years imo. Yeah it’s not anything revolutionary that I’ve never seen before, but damn was it so much fun. Hate that it’s flopping :/
It is not a perfect movie, but it is fun and entertaining.
I am still interested in watching this movie! As a DC and Karate Kid Fan, the reason why I’m mostly excited for Blue Beetle this year is because of Xolo Mariduena from Cobra Kai.
I keep telling people it's Coco/Encanto (without the music) meets Spider-man/Iron Man. I loved it!!

slights spoilers but you can retcon the mid credit scene we got with an already introduced character from superman legacy and have the two know each other from the past. Thus connecting Superman and Blue Beetle worlds.

But the Villianess in the Movie turns out to be his Sister, and She's Still Keeping his Beetle Ship in Her House for Some Reason.

It's still not going to perform well though. If you look at imax seats there are only four or three people who purchased the seats. Doesn't say much for blue beetles success
word of mouth will have people go see it a second week. it'll build up.

Aside from the obvious , the visuals , this is something that could have been released in the 80s and have been right at home in that time period , it's sense of humor , tone , and ensemble cast dynamics kept on bringing me back to that era , and that was a good thing .
I feel it's something people are missing , it's an homage to those films not so much a derivative offering that borrows from recent comic book hero films , even the lead character's personality is a carbon copy of a hero you would see in that era .
This is an excellent film , i feel 17 minutes could have been shaved off the run time as some parts became redundant but even though i was burnt out from work , and the gym , and it was a long day , i caught a later showing and didn't fade out once , and that's a compliment as in that scenario in normally take some mini naps , not this time , i was engaged and having fun , yes , actual fun , you are allowed to do that , all the way through .
It essentially becomes a bigger budget version of Spy Kids and that's not a bad thing , it's a good thing , and man , it's unapologetic in it's earnestness and positivity , even the derivative aspects seem fresh and inspired .
I give this one a 7.5 out of 10 , i take points off because sometimes it does not satisfy it's ambitions , the villain is mediocre , and that run time i mentioned but it's a very strong 7.5 , i give it a strong recommendation

I'll just be briefed I don't really have any interest in this film I'm not going to take away from the Latino population who will surely be grateful to have another hero that they can relate to but as for me I just don't have any interest in the character nor do I really have any interest in DC as a hole right now but I am happy to know that it has a good story and I honestly hope it does well not for me but I hope it'll please other people

Blue Beetle is better than the first Thor movie. Granted, that was the least of the Marvel Phase 1 movies, but it is not the least of the Thor movies. It seems like every serious critic has said that the DCEU failed because they failed to take their time and match the MCU in world building. I guess it's too late for that. This film could be a stepping stone if audiences recognized the appeal. A couple of legitimate criticisms show it's not equal to the first Iron Man, but it pulls off most of what it's supposed to.
Thor was WAY better than blue beetle. Bb rips scene after scene off other cbms. Thor was original, but still had his basic origin coupled with mcu tie-ins from SHIELD and Hawkeye.

It doesn't say much to say that it is the best DC film since The Batman. And I have to disagree with you - Black Adam is FAR worse than Shazam FOTG. Not saying the latter was great by any stretch, but the Rock gave his worst acting performance ever in Black Adam. It would have been a better film without him and focused on the Justice Society. I think your love of wrestling blinds you to how wooden and monotone Dwayne was throughout that film.

@@dariuschisholm7317 he usually does, but in Black Adam, he had NONE of his personality, and his voice was very monotone. I would have preferred it if he was more like how he is in other films. At least he would have seemed like he was interested in being there after developing the film for a decade and then seeming like he was only there due to contractual obligations.

Blue Beetle was introduced way before mostly all marvel characters including mentioned iron man and spider man, so it doesn't matter if it felt like those iron man or spider man movies coz those characters are inspired from blue beetle.
I watched and I thought it was a good family action movie, I would give it a 8/10.

As somebody who has ZERO nostalgia for Smallville, I find it to be very hit or miss. The good parts are genuinely AWESOME, there’s also a lot of plodding mellow drama that is downright cringy at times. I don’t think Superman and Lois reached the heights of Smallville, but it’s much more consistent IMO

Armin, it might be a good movie, but what's going to bring it down is the condescending woke bullshit where the script assumes most of the audience doesn't know that Mexican-Americans have loving, funny, endearing families just as like people of non-color. It's going to be Bud Light at the office box, and deservedly so.
The one joke in it that pretty much dosent happen in real life is when he goes to the blonde chick in the building and she gets his name wrong
