Hi! I wanted to let you guys know that after I've applied the eyeshadow from ABH called FAWN, I did apply another one, also from ABH, called Hot Chocolate. I forgot to click "record" so I don't have that part filmed. But Hot Chocolate I've applied exactly the same way I did with Fawn. with the same MAC 221 brush. I just wanted to make the look a bit darker, but you don't necessarily have to do that. On the lower lash line I've applied the same colors I did on the mobile lid, in the exact same order. Very sorry for the inconvenience! Hope you guys like the video and that you find it helpful. ❤️

Thank you for getting back to basics. Could you perhaps do a video on what colours suit different eye colours best ie what makes them pop. I always stay neutral which can be a bit boring sometimes. Also blusher, what colour for skin tone and also when wearing different shades of lipstick ie when wearing a red lip what colour blush is best? 😊
Yes I agree with all of the above. Sometimes I'll do my eyes really well then apply blusher and the blusher clashes with my eyes which is very frustrating!
I watched so many tutorials from different youtubers and I nearly gave up until I tried this. I feel I made so much progress from the first try. Next time I won't bother with other make up artists and I'll come straight here. Thank you so much xx

This is exactly my everyday makeup look. I don't have much time in the morning right before going to work so I do this whenever in doubt. You can never fail with this kind of makeup. You look gorgeous and fresh as always :)

I have problems doing my outer corner. I have hooded eyes and I try to follow your advice to go more up instead of down to keep the eyes open. When I try, it just looks like I failed trying to doing a smokey eye. Even with the lightest colors. I love watching your videos!!! And listening to you! I just wish I could do my outer corner better.
Hi Andreea! I have trouble with the outer corners. Sometimes I see people create sort of a sideways “v” shape and I always have trouble with that. I also have trouble finding out how to choose color combinations and whether to put the bright (standout) color on the crease or the lid. Lindsay Stukey It really deppends. There is no rule, really. If I have a model I would use one single eyeshadow with bright color all iver her eyelid. On me that looks horrible! Don't be affraid to try!

That is way I always tend to use just one eyeshadow over a lid and that is it usually a neutral one like cream and no eyeliner I suck at eyeliner it never looks good on me,so J gave up on it.
colour matching is my problem too, especially when you add lipstick in the equation! a friend just told me that eye and cheeks where working together, bit the lipstick was not working with them at all. so. my luck is having true frinds, but still I have no clue why those colours where not going together!
@@caterinapuddu6679 I got the point yes me too I have the same problem if I find a blush then it clashes with the lipstick or with eyes and vice and versa the best is not to use make up at all haha ,well I try some matte light bronzers I think that guerlain has some ...I can not seem to find it at drugstore but I think that light bronzer goes with everything which is not the case with a blush ...also for eyes use some neutral bronzey colours or sth with an eyeliner for instance and for lips personally I like mauve and pinks sth like that.
@@caterinapuddu6679, if you're having a problem with blush and lipstick not going well with eyeshadow, just use neutral eyeshadow colors. And NO dark lipstick. If you want more dramatic colors, just make sure the undertones are the same and everything should look great together.

So I'm 41 and just bought my very first eyeshadow palettes (Naked 2 & LORAC neutral). I have zero idea what I'm doing heheheh I try to be safe with my makeup so I just use concealer, blush mascara and BOLD lipsticks! So scared guys I am! Trying eyeshadow at this age, anything can happen! Watching this video put things into perspective for me so thank you for showing me the basics hehehehe

Yes! I finally know what I am doing wrong! I am one of those that try to open their eyes wider to get in the crease and I am glad you said it takes you longer because I am trying to get it done in a few minutes like the tutorials, getting frustrated because you ladies make it look so easy! Great video! I always struggle with the outer corner-getting that nice < > with the shadow. It always ends up more broad/diffused, and I wonder if it's just the shape of my eyes that lend themselves to that.
I just discovered I love cream eye shadow vs. powder. The eyes look so blended, I have a hard time with my left eye it is wrinkled a little more than right. Throws off my baby wing every time! Bite and Maybelline tattoo cream eye shadows looks great! Tough as Taupe and Bad to the Bronze are my favorite!

Amazing, your suggestion on using a brown pencil instead of black really changed my look, i have big round eyes and i would use black pencil all on my water lid, black never suited me as i have brown eyes but i still wanted to give my eyes shape,

I like my eyes and feel pretty confident applying makeup with exception to eyeshadow. I have no crease, so I really struggle applying the darker shade at the corners and mostly end up just using the same colour all over. This was a great help. Thank you!

Mercie beaucoup for taking the time to explain us step by step how to do this basic look. Please make a second part explaining how do you blend one eyeshadow into the other without leaving harsh lines, but please don't cut off the blending process that's what we want to see, all beauty gurus assume that we know what to do, but I don't know when should stop blending until my eyeshadow looks muddy, please show us how to fix mistakes like over blending or harsh lines,how to do the outer V, what techniques are better to people with hooded eyes, droopy eyes, small eyes, etc. I'd love if you to do a third one for a night look step by step, please.

Andrea! I’m so happy i found your channel. I’ve been watching your videos the entire quarantine. I struggle applying eye shadow in my under eye to make it look like an eye liner but with eye shadow. I have almond eyes and it usually looks dirty. Also, i feel like my makeup looks empty if i don’t “highlight” my eyes somehow. Hope to see a video on how to accentuate almond eyes with eye shadow 😃

Beautiful! I struggle with knowing which brush to use per application area or color, and fallout even with very nice designer shadows. Since I have fine lines, I dont like using a lot of white powder under the eye to protect the area from fallout. And how do you get a smooth finish? How can mature ladies avoid lids looking crepy? I always struggle with my eyeshadow looking smudgy. I am a natural redhead and my face is not so defined in comparison to yours and a even a light color can really stand out. Uuh, why i found you just right now^^ I'm searching for months now, for a Mua with a similar eye shape and the style i enjoy, with my very prominent, very round, way to huge eyes , i have now with 37y really a damn hard time, to refind my eye shape and i totally lost my skill to apply my shadows as a none pro, with a lot of loose skin etc; and although im using highly potent skin care (and very $$$🤦♀️;), the UD primer Potion in anti age, i thought that i never could do a nice and well placed order corner, and a beautyfull transition/blend for my eye shape now... With this first tutorial i watched from you and made my eyelook per watching every step with a close look, i got my eye look the first time since at least 6 months, finally in a way i really, really enjoy it and im also really happy about that, THANK YOU FOR THAT❣🤗❣😘❣😚And of course my immediate sub and👍😘glG from the rainy, tiny austria in middle of Europe, katharina👋😘

The eye makeup will work without the shadow on the bottom, but it looks SO much better if you add to the bottom. It makes a HUGE difference.
She explains just so well while giving both pros and construction. Best make up artist ever!!

That is way I always tend to use just one eyeshadow over a lid and that is it usually a neutral one like cream and no eyeliner I suck at eyeliner it never looks good on me,so J gave up on it.
colour matching is my problem too, especially when you add lipstick in the equation! a friend just told me that eye and cheeks where working together, bit the lipstick was not working with them at all. so. my luck is having true frinds, but still I have no clue why those colours where not going together!
@@caterinapuddu6679 I got the point yes me too I have the same problem if I find a blush then it clashes with the lipstick or with eyes and vice and versa the best is not to use make up at all haha ,well I try some matte light bronzers I think that guerlain has some ...I can not seem to find it at drugstore but I think that light bronzer goes with everything which is not the case with a blush ...also for eyes use some neutral bronzey colours or sth with an eyeliner for instance and for lips personally I like mauve and pinks sth like that.
@@caterinapuddu6679, if you're having a problem with blush and lipstick not going well with eyeshadow, just use neutral eyeshadow colors. And NO dark lipstick. If you want more dramatic colors, just make sure the undertones are the same and everything should look great together.
I asked myself after this video, "what else WOULD someone use other than a BRUSH to apply eyeshadow??" Your videos are so informative. I hope someday I can find MY shade of foundation and concealer

So I'm 41 and just bought my very first eyeshadow palettes (Naked 2 & LORAC neutral). I have zero idea what I'm doing heheheh I try to be safe with my makeup so I just use concealer, blush mascara and BOLD lipsticks! So scared guys I am! Trying eyeshadow at this age, anything can happen! Watching this video put things into perspective for me so thank you for showing me the basics hehehehe

Yes! I finally know what I am doing wrong! I am one of those that try to open their eyes wider to get in the crease and I am glad you said it takes you longer because I am trying to get it done in a few minutes like the tutorials, getting frustrated because you ladies make it look so easy! Great look and video!
Great video! I always struggle with the outer corner-getting that nice < > with the shadow. It always ends up more broad/diffused, and I wonder if it's just the shape of my eyes that lend themselves to that.

I just discovered I love cream eye shadow vs. powder. The eyes look so blended, I have a hard time with my left eye it is wrinkled a little more than right. Throws off my baby wing

You match the shadow color with the eye color. Not so much with skin color..

Amazing, your suggestion on using a brown pencil instead of black really changed my look, i have big round eyes and i would use black pencil all on my water lid, black never suited me as i have brown eyes but i still wanted to give my eyes shape,

I like my eyes and feel pretty confident applying makeup with exception to eyeshadow. I have no crease, so I really struggle applying the darker shade at the corners and mostly end up just using the same colour all over. This was a great help. Thank you!

I'm good with makeup like this, soft natural, earth tones well blended. but winged eyeshadow and liner, and smokey eyes sometimes can be hard. you are really great teacher, i started following you on instagram because we have similar face shape, hair, skin and eye color, and now i really appreciate your lessons and teaching skills

Mercie beaucoup for taking the time to explain us step by step how to do this basic look. Please make a second part explaining how do you blend one eyeshadow into the other without leaving harsh lines, but please don't cut off the blending process that's what we want to see, all beauty gurus assume that we know what to do, but I don't know when should stop blending until my eyeshadow looks muddy, please show us how to fix mistakes like over blending or harsh lines,how to do the outer V, what techniques are better to people with hooded eyes, droopy eyes, small eyes, etc. I'd love if you to do a third one for a night look step by step, please.

Andrea! I’m so happy i found your channel. I’ve been watching your videos the entire quarantine. I struggle applying eye shadow in my under eye to make it look like an eye liner but with eye shadow. I have almond eyes and it usually looks dirty. Also, i feel like my makeup looks empty if i don’t “highlight” my eyes somehow. Hope to see a video on how to accentuate almond eyes with eye shadow 😃

Beautiful! I struggle with knowing which brush to use per application area or color, and fallout even with very nice designer shadows. Since I have fine lines, I dont like using a lot of white powder under the eye to protect the area from fallout. And how do you get a smooth finish? How can mature ladies avoid lids looking crepy? I always struggle with my eyeshadow looking smudgy. I am a natural redhead and my face is not so defined in comparison to yours and a even a light color can really stand out. Thank you for the tutorial! As always fantastic. I struggle finding eye shadow colors that fit blue eyes and does not make my skin look reddish. Would love to hear your suggestion on what transition color etc. you could recommend. I am not so much into the brown colors....
Me, too. Many of the browns have too much red and it just makes me look tired.
Uuh, why i found you just right now^^ I'm searching for months now, for a Mua with a similar eye shape and the style i enjoy, with my very prominent, very round, way to huge eyes , i have now with 37y really a damn hard time, to refind my eye shape and i totally lost my skill to apply my shadows as a none pro, with a lot of loose skin etc; and although im using highly potent skin care (and very $$$🤦♀️;), the UD primer Potion in anti age, i thought that i never could do a nice and well placed order corner, and a beautyfull transition/blend for my eye shape now... With this first tutorial i watched from you and made my eyelook per watching every step with a close look, i got my eye look the first time since at least 6 months, finally in a way i really, really enjoy it and im also really happy about that, THANK YOU FOR THAT❣🤗❣😘❣😚And of course my immediate sub and👍😘glG from the rainy, tiny austria in middle of Europe, katharina👋😘

I realise this video was made two years ago. I have managed to purchase the eyeshadows Fawn and Hot Chocolate, however I am unable to purchase Gleam (ABH) which is a beautiful eyeshadow. I am wondering if you could suggest an eyeshadow close to the colour and texture of Gleam. I would really appreciate a suggestions or suggestions.
