Hi! I wanted to let you guys know that after I've applied the eyeshadow from ABH called FAWN, I did apply another one, also from ABH, called Hot Chocolate. I forgot to click "record" so I don't have that part filmed. But Hot Chocolate I've applied exactly the same way I did with Fawn. with the same MAC 221 brush. I just wanted to make the look a bit darker, but you don't necessarily have to do that. On the lower lash line I've applied the same colors I did on the mobile lid, in the exact same order. Very sorry for the inconvenience! Hope you guys like the video and that you find it helpful. ❤️
Thank you so much, don't worry the video still helpful and great. I always suffer with the outer corners of my eyes. But in general I'm improving because of you. I always remember everything you said while I'm doing my make up. ... love u so much

You are absolutely stunning and have changed the way I look at make up and how I feel about wearing make up now that I've hit my late 30s. You really have given me so much confidence through watching your tutorials. AMAZING!!
Thank you for getting back to basics. Could you perhaps do a video on what colours suit different eye colours best ie what makes them pop. I always stay neutral which can be a bit boring sometimes. Also blusher, what colour for skin tone and also when wearing different shades of lipstick ie when wearing a red lip what colour blush is best? 😊
Yes I agree with all of the above. Sometimes I'll do my eyes really well then apply blusher and the blusher clashes with my eyes which is very frustrating!
I watched so many tutorials from different youtubers and I nearly gave up until I tried this. I feel I made so much progress from the first try. Next time I won't bother with other make up artists and I'll come straight here. Thank you so much xx
This is so helpful since my eyes are deep set- and I tend to feel like I can’t add to much color for fear that it will make my eyes look sunken in. Thank you!
Andreea, IT has been a long time since I watched this video, but I am watching it again now. I wanted to tell you what a good thing that was for you to declare that *you want alll women to have the power --- that certain power which knowing how to apply makeup correctly, brings". Women are fictionalized as bring selfish, & being unable to appreciate or share with others, or not even deserving of being called "Heroes", and not deserving of even having this power, at all. . It's been a long time, but it seems new and fresh--- the things that you said... And the way you teach your viewers, nothing ever seems to get old --it's always inspiring😍👍
This is exactly my everyday makeup look. I don't have much time in the morning right before going to work so I do this whenever in doubt. You can never fail with this kind of makeup. You look gorgeous and fresh as always :)
This is such a good video whenever I did eyeshadow everything just blended into one weird color it never transitioned but now it looks really good. I feel like with these deep dives you learn so much
I struggle with color selection, and applicaiton. I never knew how and there are so many videos out there,, most are confusing. But You are AMAZING! I did go to buy new makeup to try an evening look that you demonstrated.
Dear Andrea! Thank u very much for this video! It's very difficult for me to do such kind of eye makeup. Today i should go to the fotosession. In the morning i thought - oh my God! What to do? And then I watched this video! It's a big gift for me! And what? I got it!! I made my own eye makeup! This is awesome! Thank u so much!
I have problems doing my outer corner. I have hooded eyes and I try to follow your advice to go more up instead of down to keep the eyes open. When I try, it just looks like I failed trying to doing a smokey eye. Even with the lightest colors. I love watching your videos!!! And listening to you! I just wish I could do my outer corner better.
Hi Andreea! I have trouble with the outer corners. Sometimes I see people create sort of a sideways “v” shape and I always have trouble with that. I also have trouble finding out how to choose color combinations and whether to put the bright (standout) color on the crease or the lid. Thank you as always for being you and sharing your knowledge, tips and tricks. You are such a beauty inside and out. 💕💕💕
Lindsay Stukey It really deppends. There is no rule, really. If I have a model I would use one single eyeshadow with bright color all iver her eyelid. On me that looks horrible! Don't be affraid to try!
Like you were reading my mind! :) I needed this video for what brushes to use. Thank you!! I love your channel, you have great tips for women of every age, I am 52 and your make-up application tips don't make me look foolish. Thank you!!
Dear Andreea, is it possible to explain the step with the eyeshadow on the lower lashline? Is it really important? Does the eye make up work without that step? Thanks ❤
I just love your tutorials. You are just so beautiful, and you really know your stuff! I’ve seen a lot of makeup tutorials, and I’ll take yours anyway over anyone else’s! Please keep posting! Thanks for all your great videos!!! 🤗
I love your tutorials, especially the eye make up. However being in my 60's, (yes we still love make up at our age), would really appreciate tips for application onto an older skin, especially the eye area. Many thanks, Caroline
Hi, Ali! Thank you so much for your videos! I am from Russia, and i’ve never seen such useful and detailed videos as yours! Thank you again so much again! Love your channel!
Hi Andrea! Its been 2-3 months that I’ve started watching your videos. You are an amazing artist and the way you talk is so subtle. Thankyou for these useful tutorials.
Your videos are delightful to watch! The humour is priceless & easy to remember steps on how up my game! Had to wait til am 39 to learn how to apply acceptable mascara! You are a life-saver!! Love your vids! Pls keep em coming, Andrea xx
I need help creating looks. I want to use all of the beautiful shadows I own but I struggle knowing what pairs well with what. I want to use color and I want to use it well!! Great video. Thank you!! 💜
That is way I always tend to use just one eyeshadow over a lid and that is it usually a neutral one like cream and no eyeliner I suck at eyeliner it never looks good on me,so J gave up on it.
colour matching is my problem too, especially when you add lipstick in the equation! a friend just told me that eye and cheeks where working together, bit the lipstick was not working with them at all. so. my luck is having true frinds, but still I have no clue why those colours where not going together!
@@caterinapuddu6679 I got the point yes me too I have the same problem if I find a blush then it clashes with the lipstick or with eyes and vice and versa the best is not to use make up at all haha ,well I try some matte light bronzers I think that guerlain has some ...I can not seem to find it at drugstore but I think that light bronzer goes with everything which is not the case with a blush ...also for eyes use some neutral bronzey colours or sth with an eyeliner for instance and for lips personally I like mauve and pinks sth like that.
@@caterinapuddu6679, if you're having a problem with blush and lipstick not going well with eyeshadow, just use neutral eyeshadow colors. And NO dark lipstick. If you want more dramatic colors, just make sure the undertones are the same and everything should look great together.
I asked myself after this video, "what else WOULD someone use other than a BRUSH to apply eyeshadow??" Your videos are so informative. I hope someday I can find MY shade of foundation and concealer
In my opinion you are the best. I love the natural beauty looks the most. This video is exactly what I needed. Also, the fact that you respond to the comments your fans leave makes me want to come back to your page. Thank you for being a sweet lady.
So I'm 41 and just bought my very first eyeshadow palettes (Naked 2 & LORAC neutral). I have zero idea what I'm doing heheheh I try to be safe with my makeup so I just use concealer, blush mascara and BOLD lipsticks! So scared guys I am! Trying eyeshadow at this age, anything can happen! Watching this video put things into perspective for me so thank you for showing me the basics hehehehe
I so like the way you do make up, nothing overdone! I like that videos do not have a lot of ads. I request you to pause, close your eyes and show how the eyelids are supposed to look after each color application. Thank you.
Yes! I finally know what I am doing wrong! I am one of those that try to open their eyes wider to get in the crease and I am glad you said it takes you longer because I am trying to get it done in a few minutes like the tutorials, getting frustrated because you ladies make it look so easy! Great look and video!
Great video! I always struggle with the outer corner-getting that nice < > with the shadow. It always ends up more broad/diffused, and I wonder if it's just the shape of my eyes that lend themselves to that.
I just discovered I love cream eye shadow vs. powder. The eyes look so blended, I have a hard time with my left eye it is wrinkled a little more than right. Throws off my baby wing every time! Bite and Maybelline tattoo cream eye shadows looks great! Tough as Taupe and Bad to the Bronze are my favorite!
This was great have these colors and will them in a 4 palette now❤️❤️would love to a video on what colors suit different skin tones like either warm or cool colors! ❤️
Hi Andreea, would you recommend other eyeshadows that would give a similar effect? I have discovered you fairly recently. Love your work! You are a true makeup educator! These eyeshadows are nowhere to be found and I love the look!
I absolutely adore how honest u r with us. Easy 2 follow. Great tips. Uve given me hope 2 master eyeshadow which has Always been a pain for me since my eyes r Very Hooded. Thanx doll!
Thank you so much Ali. I love your personality and sense of humor. My mother never taught me how to do my makeup so I had to teach myself, your tips are really helpful. Thank you!
This is the perfect eye shape. Ideal, impeccable open space without hoods, folds or anything. I’ve been struggling with hooded eyes so I’m sooo jealous! 🤗😅
Love the detailed tips you gave. This is what I wanted because I can't apply eye makeup like pro. This really build up my knowledge and confidence. Can't thank you enough 🙏❤
Amazing colours!!!! It used to be very difficult for me to mix-blend the eye shadows. My make up was «dirty»and I was looking like I am tired. Thank God I understood what suits me and I really feel great and comfortable with my look now. Your videos helped a lot! Cheers from Greece!
the crease , i have a lightly hooded eye so i struggel with this. but i've learned so much from your videos , that i'm not so affraid any more about my eyemake up. have a good weekend
I love you! I can't wait every time you post a video to watch it until the end. From you a have learned a lot. You were ,, my trainer" without knowing it. Thank you! ❤
Hi Andreea, I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and I must say that you’re my favourite RUclipsr. This video especially was excellent, finally I started to apply eyeshadow the way it should be. I was getting confused by all others because they make it seem so complicated. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work, lots of love from Canada 🇨🇦 !
Amazing, your suggestion on using a brown pencil instead of black really changed my look, i have big round eyes and i would use black pencil all on my water lid, black never suited me as i have brown eyes but i still wanted to give my eyes shape,
Absolutely love this video .... so, so helpful for learning to update style & technique .... love your videos & love you humour/personality .... thank you so much for all your time, skill & help .... 😊☀️❤️❤️❤️☀️😊 many blessings to you beautiful lady ....
Thank you for a classy down to earth video.. no heavy colours or over doing the shadow that seems to be the current trend now. . Beautifully done.. I followed your advice and for the first time I mastered it!! 😘
Hello.Fantastic explanation.Thank you so much. I do love the ABH modern reinaissance and many too faced palettes , I tend to use matte colors, not a huge fan of shimmery ones Thanks a lot!!❤
I like my eyes and feel pretty confident applying makeup with exception to eyeshadow. I have no crease, so I really struggle applying the darker shade at the corners and mostly end up just using the same colour all over. This was a great help. Thank you!
Stupenda! Grazie per questo tutorial! I must admit that when I applicate eyeshadows the result isn't the same at all. Instead, it seems that I have no make up on or I have it too much! 😗 you look so beautiful with everything! I'm obsessed of your videos
I'm good with makeup like this, soft natural, earth tones well blended. but winged eyeshadow and liner, and smokey eyes sometimes can be hard. you are really great teacher, i started following you on instagram because we have similar face shape, hair, skin and eye color, and now i really appreciate your lessons and teaching skills
Thank you for this. I always struggle with the lower lash line ...i never seem to get it right. An in depth tutorial about matching it with the lid make up and how to not make it look like u got punched in the eye would be amazing. Xx keep up the good work! You re gorgeous
Such an excellent, detailed video - thank you! Wondering if you would consider showing us videos in other ES application techniques: cream as base, just creams, creams and powders, eyeliner base, adding glitters.....etc. An eyeshadow techniques series. I would love to see these!!! Especially cream applications, as summer is coming and I love creams in warmer weathers...💖
This was helpful!! I'd love to see more and more of this type focussing on eyeshadow for different looks. Coz it is harder to learn, having good brushes helps! But it makes all the difference. I feel like eyeshadow is where you can get playful, creative and change it up the most. 😍 You are stunning and i love your work. Glad I found your content. 🥰
Mercie beaucoup for taking the time to explain us step by step how to do this basic look. Please make a second part explaining how do you blend one eyeshadow into the other without leaving harsh lines, but please don't cut off the blending process that's what we want to see, all beauty gurus assume that we know what to do, but I don't know when should stop blending until my eyeshadow looks muddy, please show us how to fix mistakes like over blending or harsh lines, how to do the outer V, what techniques are better to people with hooded eyes, droopy eyes, small eyes, etc. I'd love if you to do a third one for a night look step by step, please.
Ali, I just love how you do the makeup. and I love that you don't use too much product as you apply them in your face. Very natural finish. I've watched many makeup tutorials and its hard for me to just subscribed, but I just did!
Beautiful. Beautiful😊😊 Looks so easy. I still don't understand about transition colour and crease colour and blending. Could you please explain what l need in regards to eyeshadow colour. Much appreciated and thank you so much
Andrea! I’m so happy i found your channel. I’ve been watching your videos the entire quarantine. I struggle applying eye shadow in my under eye to make it look like an eye liner but with eye shadow. I have almond eyes and it usually looks dirty. Also, i feel like my makeup looks empty if i don’t “highlight” my eyes somehow. Hope to see a video on how to accentuate almond eyes with eye shadow 😃
Andreaa, can you please explain which color to put on the lower lash line? (1st, 2nd, or 3rd). I’ve never done this technique before, but would like to try it!! Thanks 😊
Beautiful! I struggle with knowing which brush to use per application area or color, and fallout even with very nice designer shadows. Since I have fine lines, I dont like using a lot of white powder under the eye to protect the area from fallout. And how do you get a smooth finish? How can mature ladies avoid lids looking crepy? Thank you for your fabulous teaching posts. Gorgeous and talented!
Gorgeous as always! Thank you for this series of “basics” like the one you did with the right way to apply mascara. I agree matte neutral eyeshadows are the best first step of every make up
Hi Ali! Could you create a video on how to apply eyeshadow on deep-set eyes? I really struggle when it comes to something more sophisticated than no-makeup makeup look. I think a lot of ladies would agree with me on this one :) Thank you!
thanks for your tutorials have been so helpful first time I write feedback, you are the most amazing makeup tutorial ever, I thought I knew how to do my makeup, thanks to one of your tutorials I've learnt how to pick the right product for my skin and how to apply my make up. massive thank you :)
I always struggle with my eyeshadow looking smudgy. I am a natural redhead and my face is not so defined in comparison to yours and a even a light color can really stand out. Practice makes perfect they say, so I will just try again. And again. And do more, because this look: perfection! Thank you so much for sharing. And for making me laugh. You often crack me up.
Hi Andreea. I am a new subscriber, love your mix of knowledge and humor. I am 53 years old, my lids are crepy and show texture. Do you have any suggestions on how to apply shadows? Maybe even a full face for those of us older girls. Thank you in advance.

Just paused the video to say thank you for acknowledging the fact that a proper eyeshadow look takes time! Now, back to the video 😉
Such a great makeup video for basics . I think your videos are so easy and simple to follow giving your expertise and comments to show what works the best. You should do a workshop and invite women to attend for day and night look. That would be awesome!
Thank you for the tutorial! As always fantastic. I struggle finding eye shadow colors that fit blue eyes and does not make my skin look reddish. Would love to hear your suggestion on what transition color etc. you could recommend. I am not so much into the brown colors....
Uuh, why i found you just right now^^ I'm searching for months now, for a Mua with a similar eye shape and the style i enjoy, with my very prominent, very round, way to huge eyes , i have now with 37y really a damn hard time, to refind my eye shape and i totally lost my skill to apply my shadows as a none pro, with a lot of loose skin etc; and although im using highly potent skin care (and very $$$🤦♀️;), the UD primer Potion in anti age, i thought that i never could do a nice and well placed order corner, and a beautyfull transition/blend for my eye shape now... With this first tutorial i watched from you and made my eyelook per watching every step with a close look, i got my eye look the first time since at least 6 months, finally in a way i really, really enjoy it and im also really happy about that, THANK YOU FOR THAT❣🤗❣😘❣😚And of course my immediate sub and👍😘glG from the rainy, tiny austria in middle of Europe, katharina👋😘
Hi Andreea Ali, I love all of your videos. You're smart and genuine. I was hoping you could post a video for eye shadows depending on the shape of the eye. I.e. Hooded eyes, protruding eyes, downward eyes, etc. Also, another idea would be contouring depending on your face shape. Just ideas! Thank you!
Hi Andreea.....Love..Love your make-up techniques and product suggestions....Can you post a video for us ladies over 40?.....It gets a bit challenging as you get older ...Would love to see your techniques/products(make-up/skincare) you use for your clients...Thank You!
Hi Ali. I just think your tutorials are awesome, very informative and ‘showcase’ a whole lot of products I would never be able to explore myself. Your comments on the products, allow me to ‘make-up’ my own mind. I realise this video was made two years ago. I have managed to purchase the eyeshadows Fawn and Hot Chocolate, however I am unable to purchase Gleam (ABH) which is a beautiful eyeshadow. I am wondering if you could suggest an eyeshadow close to the colour and texture of Gleam. I would really appreciate a suggestions or suggestions. Please keep making your wonderful tutorials. Take care of yourself, Julie
Thank you! Great tutorial and great look! I see that the new collections in clothes have a lot of green. Could you do a look that looks fab when you wear green? I know you’re not big on wearing colours and you’re fav is all black, but would love to see your take on green. 😊😊
I've watched this video several times and it's always interesting. It would be nice to expand the bit with the application of the eyeshadow under the eye.
Thank you Andrea! Awesome video again! This was awesome information and I realize I need to make more time for this and not try to slap it on in the car on the way to whatever...Ha! I struggle with PICKING out the right colors for "transition" lid, crease, etc. Red head with green eyes...so I love to use especially "plumy" colors...For example one of my favorite eye pencils from MAC has always been "Prunella"...Just me? Ok...Thank you!
You are so knowledgeable and talented! We need and love your tutorials! I loved especially the one with false eyelashes, but know I realised how much I love this one as well. Keep on going please
Thank you for this tutorial. Would also love tutorial on those with hooded lids. The makeup artist who did my wedding makeup told me I had very difficult eyes to apply eye makeup. I told her tell me about it!
Hello beautiful I’m so excited I for this eyeshadow tutorial can you please create more. And also can you create another tutorial for best make up brushes thank you so much love you
Loved this video. It would be great for you to do a video on essential beginner brushes. I need to buy some but on a budget and don’t know where to start!
thank you for such a detailed tutorial. I have a hard time with eye shadow, because I have hooded eyes, but with some tips and tweeks that you suggest, help so much !

The Curator's Lab I have the same issue!
I just discovered I love cream eye shadow vs. powder. The eyes look so blended, I have a hard time with my left eye it is wrinkled a little more than right. Throws off my baby wing
every time! Bite and Maybelline tattoo cream eye shadows looks great! Tough as Taupe and
Bad to the Bronze are my favorite!
This was great have these colors and will them in a 4 palette now❤️❤️would love to a video on what colors suit different skin tones like either warm or cool colors! ❤️
You match the shadow color with the eye color. Not so much with skin color..
I am older and have very hooded eyes. It’s very difficult to find an actual crease. What tips do you have for me?
Hi Andreea, would you recommend other eyeshadows that would give a similar effect? I have discovered you fairly recently. Love your work! You are a true makeup educator! These eyeshadows are nowhere to be found and I love the look!
I absolutely adore how honest u r with us. Easy 2 follow. Great tips. Uve given me hope 2 master eyeshadow which has Always been a pain for me since my eyes r Very Hooded. Thanx doll!
A wonderful wonderful natural makeup look 👌 very good tutorial, not just for beginners 👍 thank you my fair lady 🌹 LOVE FROM GREECE 🌞 🇬🇷
Thank you so much Ali. I love your personality and sense of humor. My mother never taught me how to do my makeup so I had to teach myself, your tips are really helpful. Thank you!
Maybe it’s a good thing our mothers didn’t teach up how to apply makeup, lol. Habits a hard to break and I’m getting the pros to teach me.
Really mam your videos are very helpful for me. Thank you so much. God bless you. Very easy step on your videos.
Stunning look! Idk what you did different to your eyebrows, but it’s amazing! Your entire look is perfection!
This is the perfect eye shape. Ideal, impeccable open space without hoods, folds or anything. I’ve been struggling with hooded eyes so I’m sooo jealous! 🤗😅
This was great and your voice is so soothing. Can't wait to try your techniques.
This is so helpful!
I was never taught by my mom anything about being a woman (feminine). Thank you.
I love you! I can't wait every time you post a video to watch it until the end. From you a have learned a lot. You were ,, my trainer" without knowing it. Thank you! ❤
Mine too 😄
Hi Andreea, I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and I must say that you’re my favourite RUclipsr. This video especially was excellent, finally I started to apply eyeshadow the way it should be. I was getting confused by all others because they make it seem so complicated. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work, lots of love from Canada 🇨🇦 !
Amazing, your suggestion on using a brown pencil instead of black really changed my look, i have big round eyes and i would use black pencil all on my water lid, black never suited me as i have brown eyes but i still wanted to give my eyes shape,
I love your videos! You are beautiful, skilled and fun to watch! I also love your videos about Paris. More shopping videos please
Absolutely love this video .... so, so helpful for learning to update style & technique .... love your videos & love you humour/personality .... thank you so much for all your time, skill & help .... 😊☀️❤️❤️❤️☀️😊 many blessings to you beautiful lady ....
I would love to hear about adding in a pencil eyeliner and how to blend that on the upper lid
Thank you for a classy down to earth video.. no heavy colours or over doing the shadow that seems to be the current trend now. . Beautifully done.. I followed your advice and for the first time I mastered it!! 😘
I like you !!! Hehe! Best tutorial 😊for me . Thank you 😊
My struggle is lack of good technique and after watching your video. I can have a try again.
Hello.Fantastic explanation.Thank you so much. I do love the ABH modern reinaissance and many too faced palettes , I tend to use matte colors, not a huge fan of shimmery ones
Thanks a lot!!❤
I like my eyes and feel pretty confident applying makeup with exception to eyeshadow. I have no crease, so I really struggle applying the darker shade at the corners and mostly end up just using the same colour all over. This was a great help. Thank you!
Stupenda! Grazie per questo tutorial! I must admit that when I applicate eyeshadows the result isn't the same at all. Instead, it seems that I have no make up on or I have it too much! 😗 you look so beautiful with everything! I'm obsessed of your videos
You're great at explaining makeup techniques. I've watched many only to become worse at applying! You make it simple and I appreciate so much
I'm good with makeup like this, soft natural, earth tones well blended. but winged eyeshadow and liner, and smokey eyes sometimes can be hard. you are really great teacher, i started following you on instagram because we have similar face shape, hair, skin and eye color, and now i really appreciate your lessons and teaching skills
Finally got the answers I was looking for and couldn't find with any other eyeshadow tutorial. Thank you! Will definitely be watching more of you :)
Love this look. Looks stunning on you. Very subtle and natural but looks amazing 😊
I feel you're very poised and down to earth at the same time ❤️ love your channel! Thanks for the tips.
How do you know what colors to use, and what colors will look the best together? Beautiful eye look!! I can't wait to do it tomrw!!!
Lovely colors. You look absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
Maitén Panella Thank you! We need to stay real! Most women that we see looking perfect they did invest time in their looks.
Me, too. Many of the browns have too much red and it just makes me look tired.
Just ideas! Thank you!
Love, love, love your videos! Love this eye look! Copied it tonight for a Christmas party and got a ton of compliments.
Hi Andreea.....Love..Love your make-up techniques and product suggestions....Can you post a video for us ladies over 40?.....It gets a bit challenging as you get older ...Would love to see your techniques/products(make-up/skincare) you use for your clients...Thank You!
Fantastic video! Thank you for repeating the same products instead of changing all the time. It’s so helpful!!! Wonderful tutorial !
The most detailed, meaningful and helpful information, always...this is what I needed 🥰
Always so beautiful and make it look so natural.
Just found your videos, love them! You are so talented and good instructor too. Can you give a eye makeup tutorial on people with puff eyes?
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Finally someone who does makeup that looks clean and not too overdone.
Love your accent and nice natural makeup look. You're beautiful...thanks for sharing!
Hi! I’m from Brazil and love your RUclips channel! Your skin is amazing! 😘😘👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
