I am so sorry this video ended a little sad. You all know I just want to bring you joy (and delicious food) with this channel. However, I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with emotions as I was donating the goods and money. I was just so hurt to see what some people have to live with. Not only that, but to feel like I could have been doing so much more to help others. I know this year has been hard on us all, but let's still take the time to count our blessings. I love you all so much for the support and love you have shown me, it still feels unreal to this day. I can’t wait to explore Vietnam more, meet more people, and help others along the way. I also want to apologize for not having a red envelope for the second home, I didn’t know until that moment that we were going to two homes. As always I hope you enjoyed this video, I know it is a little different, but sometimes different is good. Kind of like the spice of life. Ăn Tết Vui Vẻ!!!

This brought me a big smile knowing that there's still a lot of good people like you out there. And also, you don't have to be sorry. Very few, I hope. Many are quite wealthy. I watch Troy Vietnam, who goes around doing good deeds for the needy Vietnamese people, and even the poor people he and his donors help, they live in much better conditions. There are homeless people in the US, and they sleep outside in the cold and snow. There are needy people everywhere, and we all try to do our best. I cry too, whenever I visit our homeless community in California. At least, those people have a roof over their heads. Now, go and enjoy Tet. I am happy to hear you have a girlfriend. Enjoy Tet with her. And take care of yourself. When we are happy and well cared for emotionally and spiritually, we can do more good for others. Sending you light and love from California.

So heartwarming to see this Max, especially in these COVID times, when many of us are feeling sorry for ourselves with our 1st world problems. My husband and I have done similar things in Vietnam, Cambodia and Sri Lanka and I must be honest and tell you that the feeling WE get from it is amazing. It's very much a 2 way street. To us, it's only a small amount, but for them it's everything. Who would've guessed that handing a single piece of fruit to each child in a remote village would bring such joy. That's what started it for us. Also, your Vietnamese is great and it's nice to see more of your everyday life in this video. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Max ! You are so human and taking the time to help out no matter how big or small is very appreciative by the families I am sure. People are resilient and they do what they can to survive. It is hard for us to see the conditions how some live but they live within their means and often was brought up in same conditions/ environments. Giving back is the only way to give them hope and to show that there are people who cares.

Dalat was my city. I had lived there for 20+ years before immigrating to California. It’s so beautiful and it’s people are really nice. The moderate weather is unique in Vietnam as it was discovered as a resort vacation during French occupation . Thank you for helping out people in needs. I understand your feeling.
Seeing your raw emotion, it got to me too and it opened my eyes more to all the rough conditions many unfortunate people are living in and encouraged me more that I should do something for them. I think you've inspired me through this vid.
Just to change the subject to cheer up the mood (hey, it's Tet, right?!).....Seems like you're getting good at cooking Vietnamese foods after tasting so many of them, especially thịt kho. And you cook like a Vietnamese, too (cooking on the floor and outdoor, braising the eggs....) :) I used to grow up with thịt kho (one of the typical Vietnamese dishes, especially the Tet dishes. It's one of my favs, too, when I was little even though I'm vegan now). Thank you for all the sharing of your vids. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới nha! All the best to you in the new Year of the Ox.
