I have tried testing this in Dubai, one thing they have here is they provide you a Huawei smartwatch where you can control the car in terms of starting the car, opening windows, etc. The watch can be a replacement of your car key - but I am not sure if they brought this feature in the Philippines. I love all your reviews with Chinese Cars as they are all on my list - planning to get my car next couple of months. Reviews are very helpful.

It won’t. The weight will stop it
Fuel consumption suffer due to 4wd or probably too heavy for that 2.0L, but other than that yeah its a good value for money, GAC and other Chinese car company should make sure to have a good aftersales services

Personally I’d go for the GS8, but since he has a relatively new, capable, and comfortable car, still should be good for a couple more years. Too early for an upgrade.

Then you can probably switch out your car for an EV.

These Chinese cars being launched in the Philippines are, no doubt, all with a facade of quality but how about substance in the long run.
Maybe some of those who wrote their comments below have already watched that video where a frustrated Chinese customer smashed his recently-bought Hongqi because of issues every now and then.
It's hard to use terms such as "no doubt" since we all really don't know yet.
Yes, there will be people frustrated with their cars, but some established brands will just not take too much heat for it. For example, I have had many bad experiences with a very established brand myself, but even if I post it, I doubt people will take too much notice just because it's an established brand. People will simply say that I got a lemon/s.
The same is true for these Chinese cars. A few bad examples cannot be used to generalize the whole.

lol the 1st gen GS8 was launched in 2018 here in the Philippines and the samples of it is still running good still looks good too. Minor complaints from the owners.
