knight rider 2008, could have been a perfect sequel, this series had so much potential, but the show-runner really ruined everything!

Can't believe that knightrider is now classed as "vintage". 😥😢
Think of it this way: nothing beats a classic.
Show was in reruns on nbc late 80s early 90s so show is 30 to 40 years old. Cars are considered classic at like 20 to 25 years antique at 25 to 50 years trans ams I think are from the 70s so antique or nearly antique now. Even the last pontiacs made like the g6 g8 and solstice are nearly classics now, they are all from like 2006 to 2008 another five maybe 10 years they will be classic cars.
Pontiac was discarded over Buick because Buick had huge following in emerging growing market of China at the time while Pontiac was more predominant here in us which was listed as a declining market, so they kept Buick even though the public and many executives fought to keep Pontiac or find way to keep both Buick and Pontiac going
It’s a shame both Pontiac and dodge have largely gone by the wayside and no car company makes affordable cars for normal people anymore
I just got a Mazda 3 this year and they only had hatchbacks not sedans and didn’t have any base trims so I ended up having to buy a 27,500 compact car, it’s a good car but more then double what I would have wanted to pay for a car, not fond of a 7 year car loan when car loans are supposed to only be for 3 to 5 years maximum ordinarily
I wanted a g6 or g8 back in 2008 but they were 17k or more and was just out of college and starting working so settled for a Silverado work truck for 13k. Was really hoping for a Pontiac or affordable car this time around instead the Mazda 3 by time paperwork done costs like 33k with all the fees and everything that Cadillac prices or price of a normal house.
At 2:12 Jack Gill sure took that turn sharp and at high speed, and in the blind drive car
That was one hella fast turn.
I think they went normal speed and just speed up the footage.
Even slowed down he looks like he probably took that turn at like 50mph

During the shows production, definitely.
And even the toy cars caught hell. But Knight Rider was my childhood.

I do remember reading in the Knight Rider Legacy book however that during this show's run, Pontiac were supplying them with an abundance of Trans Ams for minimal cost due to the popularity of the show and the publicity the car was getting.
Kitt deserved a hell of alot better than being dismantled in the movie

I know. It blew my mind and I stared in awe every time as a kid when ever I saw KITT Turbo Boosting over and through things.

That always annoyed me how KITT could do things like magically open mechanical locks. I had no problem with the self-drive and turboboost though.

That was directed by heroes series creator they say that was a bad episode universal canceled it because filming locations were to much the guy at nbc tried to give him more money he was like no thank you

2.28 Kitt is only 3 years old and already having trouble getting the Silent Mode to stay on.
The hood-walking stunt done without any wire-work, woulld have studio insurers sweating profusely if it were done today.

You mean the one that Micheal was stuffed into the trunk of? I think a lot of shows do that, is that they'll pull the rear view off. That's most likely because of them not wanting to get a camera or 2 or more in perspective of a rearview and get it into view of the camera.

Wot makes me laugh is the fact that back in the day when we were all kids ... We really actually believed that a car could actually talk n drive by itself ..n ur thinking wow!! Amazing!! Awesome!! .... But now as adults we have noticed that the car does not drive by itself... Its a stunt man driving kitt behind the seats with special equipment etc n if you notice the driving seat is slightly different when kitt is going along by itself... U can tell there's a cover over the seat ... Cause they dress the stunt man up as a driving seat.
Plus the man who talks for kitt is in a little hole in the floorboards doing all the other stunts.
So sorry to ruin the secrets!

Your "facts" are not true, but your trolling is hilarious. The stunt driver in Camera Car #1 would lay on the floor on the passenger side and operate a set of redundant controls on that side. A female PA would usually read KITT's lines during the shoot. The actor who provided the voice of KITT was in a booth in a recording studio in Burbank or Culver City weeks after the shoot. William Daniels' voice would then be dubbed over the PA's voice in post.

In one of the knightrider books ... there's a story about kitt meeting a female version of him called KATE!! where this mad proffeser was in charge of her ... But it never explained what it stands for... .so here's my thoughts.... Perhaps ... KATE could stand for knight automated trans elite. Plus if you google it .. there's a photo somewhere of her as a pure white pontiac trans am with a red light scanner! N sunroof.... look it up!

3:05 - outside front axle and totalled.
They go from using toy models in Season 2 to Turbo Boost, to near totalling a beautiful genuine Trans Am, all because they stuffed the launch.
Oh well, it's a great scene anyway, particularly K.I.T.T.'s line about marrying the Limo if he got any closer.
Definitely seems like the nose and front axle got messed up on landing. Which is why I'm pretty sure why you didn't see s lot of landings from the outside.
For the jumps they use special jump cars that are basically dune buggies with a body shell. They're basically indestructible and even if they get wrecked it's easy to fix them back up.
That was a pretty awkward landing though!
@@fluffysheap The one in this scene wasn't the dune buggy, you can tell the dune buggy model because it doesn't really look like a real Tran Am at all, the chassis is wide and flared an looks genuinely fake.
N its like when kitt drives into the FLAG truck n opens his doors.... In a truck in real life...u just couldn't do that with a car! 🤣😂
You absolutely CAN drive a moving car into a moving truck, as Mythbusters proved. It was a practical stunt. Opening the doors afterward might swap some paint, though!

Is it just me or did anyone else notice this..... Back in the 80s ... Knightrider or Ateam the bad guys would be in the same tv show!! But different characters! 😂🤣 Recycled baddies! 😂😂.... N in the happy birthday michael episode there was a old man who was a baddy in the hovercraft who had appeared in knightrider few years before!
Cornell Decker ... Made a few appearances in knightrider aswell as Ateam .... In season 2 there was a woman who was standing next to kitt at a garage .... who a few years later appeared in airwolf.! 😃
one thing about growing up in the 70s and 80s witching this with my sister's I always said to them Michael Knight always seems to get himself in a real mess no matter if its with a female or on a crime scene he always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and after I said this my sister's as well as my Aunty's just cracked up Loughing and they couldn't understand at a very young age where I come up with these kind of questions and now I'm 49 go on 50 and my sister's are nearly in there 60s they say to me things haven't changed and just smile at me at the same time

As far as I know, all American cars must have some sort of a switch or a handle that can be used to open car's trunk from the inside. It is literally written in the law. Also, it is very convenient that the bad guys didn't put on handcuffs or used any other way to restrict Michael's movements)))

Enough of me now....but I just want to finish up with.... In season 2 of knightrider ... April gives kitt some special device that allows him to turbo boost onto the sea n hover on the sea and catch up with the bad guys.....now millions of people will agree with me now...... how come that in season 4 episode 2 or 3 can't remember now.... the episode named happy birthday michael ...the scene where a hovercraft tries to escape! (U know the one!) Kitt doesn't use the water device he was given back in season 2.... its like it's not there anymore. Most odd. 🙄🙄
At the end of the episode where April gives KITT the ability to go on water, she removes it from KITT. She explained it wasn't needed and KITT felt disappointed that the ability was removed from him.
