Operation WIngception: Whisper in Brigitte's ear while she sleeps all about how good and generous of a thing it would be to share her recipe. Repeat nightly until the recipe has been shared.
Dead f***ing set, I’ve honestly never loved two people more in my life that I’ve never actually met. You both crack me up so much and you’re just both genuinely fabulous people
Secret recipe chat: my mom’s sweet potato casserole is the staple at every turkey dinner. Everyone asks her for the recipe, and she gives it to them with one condition. They can’t bring it to any family dinners. She says she does this because recipes are made to be shared, but it’s still her’s so she can make the rules. I love that she shares the recipe, but is still able to gatekeep enough to keep it special.
That seems fair. My parents are friends with this other couple and the woman once asked my mom for the recipe of some chocolate cake. My mom would often bake this one for guests, obviously including said couple, because it’s tasty and requires little effort to make. At one point, this couple would invite my parents over and had the audacity to serve them this very cake. And it has to be said that this isn’t even some secret family recipe, but from an older recipe book. My mom was still understandably rather mad as this cake was just her thing.
When my wife and I were dating, she hyped me up to try her grandma's famous banana pudding. I had never had banana pudding before so I didn't know what to expect. I FREAKING LOVED IT! I ate sooooo much of it. A year later, her grandma died. So for the funeral my wife wanted to make her grandma's recipe. She sent me to the store to buy the ingredients. She had me get Nilla Wafers, and when I was looking at the box I noticed something... grandmas famous recipe WAS ON THE BACK OF THE BOX! Considering she was dead now, I didn't have the heart to tell her. We've been married 14 years next month, and I have never told her that Grandma was fooling everyone in the family!!
Recipes don't just fall out of the sky. Baking is especially unforgiving, so I'm gonna say most people are not creating their own thing from scratch. Doesn't make the food less good, just because the instructions aren't fully original.
I want to say that T&R has been one of my all time favorite finds on RUclips and Spotify! You are the breath of fresh air we need! Sidenote: My RUclips algorithm had 2 shorts next to each other. One was Ryan, and one was Jason Momoa! I instantly saw the resemblance and I am convinced if Ryan grew his hair they'd be twins LOL! Thanks for the laughs...love from Miami!
Can't get over the new animations, SO good! Also wing chat: agree the drumsticks are the legs...but whenever I order my fav wings, pub gives the choice of "all flats" or "all drumsticks" so who's to say really...
During the start of the episode I looked up on the TV and I totally thought Toni had a massive afro on her head but no it was just a light umbrella 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Waits to see if Ryan figures out the difference between a drumstick and a drumette! It needs to be explained! Only a slight bit (more) of humiliation but he handles it well. 😅
Hello!!!! BORN IN THE HOME OF THE CHICKEN WING!!! BUFFALO,NY. TRY SUPER CRISPY WINGS,then tossed in sauce, then flash finished on charcoal grill. They need to be crispy enough so the sauce does not create flubbery skin. Wow that sounds awful 🤢. So anyways, super fried and then thick sauced and seared until sauce charrs a little and the sauce is caramelized. Last but not least it is served with GOOD BLEU CHEESE DRESSING with a side of cold water soaked celery slices. ( The celery will be super juicy crispy and cold , which gets dipped into the Bleu cheese and compliments the hot crispy salty wing. BON APPETIT. Now I need to make some. LoL
I love this new youtube full podcast video. Thank u so much guys.. I’m new to ur podcast and been binge listening starting from ur 1st podcast. U guys r awesome..🤩
My dad had a secret recipe for strudel that was like fairy floss. He told me he would give me the recipe when I grew up. He never did and died with the secret.
The trick to good flaky light strudel is stretching the dough out see through thin on a super clean vinyl table cloth. Like seriously thin thin thin! Then with the clean vinyl table cloth put a line of filling(apple is my favorite) and roll the strudel up tightly as many times as you can. The vinyl table cloth helps with rolling so it doesn't tear. But a few rips or tears won't hurt anything. Then form into the circle/spiral in the baking dish. I do put a few steam cuts in the top. But it results in fine buttery flaky layers. My great gran and grandma were both born in Germany and brought their traditions with them
Thanks for the great laughing out loud genuine great fucking time watching lol And usually I can’t handle podcasts But you BOTH are fanfuckingtastic!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Toni repping double denim with a TS cap just hours prior to Taylor wearing double denim to the NFL game last night..... Toni the trend setter and Taylor's bestie CONFIRMED ;) 💙
I had those spoke beads in the 1980’s was a trend in my childhood hahaha I born in 1973 lol 😝 nice to see them coming back Just need bring back Bellbottom jeans ❤
Drums are technically drumettes and are the upper portion of the wing.. and the flats are the lower portion. DrumSticks are lower portion of the leg beneath the thighs. 🙂🙃🙂
Secret recipe chat-My Gran made a delicious banana cake recipe for all of her grandchildren for our birthdays. Everyone begged her for the recipe numerous times, even I did from a very young age. When I was 18 Gran was diagnosed with terminal cancer, this is when I begged her so bad for the recipe explaining I would have to pass on the recipe to the next generation. My gran (god bless her soul) had the nerve to tell me it was the women's weekly recipe with betty crocker chocolate frosting 😂😂... I still make it for my own birthday and my dad's every year even if it's just a women's weekly recipe 😂
I completely agree about staying at home(or pub) and watching the game but if you have ever experienced watching Wales (Cymru) play rugby live, nothing in this life could beat it.. even if you arnt welsh and came along for the ride you come out feeling so full of national pride. PLEASE watch Welsh fans sing during rugby games and you will feel 20% of how it is in real life xx
Having watched this episode, it confused why it's not called The Wingter Scale as they said 🤔 Love all of Toni's different laughs. And the puns 😂 I'm catching up with old one on Spotify and just listened to one where they called Denise to approve the podcast and I lost count of how many times Toni had said De-nice 😂 Also, does chewed out mean something else in 🇦🇺 because Ryan was acting like she'd said eaten out, licked out or something dirty like that. Chewed out sounds painful because it means being angrily criticised or told off, I don't know of any other meanings behind it 🤷🏻♀️
I always fell for the game ads where they allow you to play to test it out and then asks you to download it once it gets to the fun bit. And you can bet top dollar, I'd download it every time.😅
Sounds weird but I love it when Toni makes jokes about her late mother, makes me feel less of a dick for doing the same about my dead mum (died at 57 20yrs ago)- though my mum would find it all hilarious. Gallows humour is a lifesaver....not for her though 😉😆 She would've undoubtedly have been a TARPer too 😊❤ That said, I hope you get through the anniversary okay Toni, even with all the funnies it can be tough - much love ❤❤❤
has anyone ever answered the phone and been like "i can't approve this podcast as there is an astounding lack of shark facts" or something? messing around and the like haha
Ahhh secret recipes!!! My grandfather always made the best Hawaiian ribs 🤤 we asked him for the recipe when I was maybe 12 or 13 years old. He said no he had gotten the recipe from someone he was in WWll with and was sworn to secrecy. Fast forward 10 or so years and I asked again because like I said. THE BEST Hawaiian ribs ever!!! Nope took it to his grave. What I would do for that recipe now. I’m 47 now and have never had anything close to what grandpa would make. 😢
I totally understand wishing you could taste them again. Tasting them makes you feel closer to him as well as be delicious. But how amazing that he was such a man of his word to keep that secret ❤
Best easy crispy wings: put them into the air fryer on high. That's it. Just season and goes them in. Move them around periodically (ours has 3 shelf trays, so I rotate them) and the skin gets super crisp.
Also, the full wing contains the wingtip, the wing, and the drumette, which is like The bicep portion of the wing. The drumSTICK is the lower part of the leg.
About 2 days after my mom died my co-worker comes to me and says knock knock well I didn't want to hear that first but I went along with it So it went like this hymn knock me who's there him not your mom. To be honest I needed that I laughed so hard
The drums or drumettes as they are called are in fact part of the wing. The legs are also called drums... so you're both kinda wrong and right. Justice for Ryan lol

I read this in Toni’s voice saying MY WIIFFEE
I wonder how many 'secret' recipes are just someone else's totally non-secret recipe.
So you basically lived the real life version of that friends episode with the Nestle cookies 😅

the "secret" for super crispy chicken wings is cornstarch btw.
Or Wondra flour. It makes baked chicken so crispy!
Yes, I was coming to say this! Corn starch.
