The shiny head is weird, if that was a choice on their part. I ordered the re-releases of Waves 1 and 2, so hopefully the re-release versions are consistent with Wave 3. Though it's not a big deal for me if it's not 100% consistent, they still look great together.
The quality definitely dropped in this wave. Paint apps & plastic grade. Sad because the prices are going up. Metalhead is too small, Rocksteady’s weapons, April’s whole deco. Just cheaper
I saw in the interview toybro had with someone from Super7 that the small metalhead was because one of the workers at Super7 always liked that the original metalhead was the same size as the four guys. That he was like the fifth brother. I can at least respect that decision, because it came from one of the workers childhood love for the figure, but I would have liked him bigger in size.
@@razrentals8897 Maybe but why are his weapons so bland looking with a duplicate head? Why is the sewer lid & mach gun for rocksteady unpainted? Why does April look like she was dipped in pink Vaseline? Why isn’t Mike’s nails, belt accents, painted? His head is all shiny & no turtle com. The orange on the bandanna seems thin & uneven too. Maybe it’s me but this wave isn’t as detailed.
Mikey's shiny head really makes him stand out. Mikey must be using a bit too much Turtle Wax on, wax off! I would have preferred the matte to match his brothers. Waiting a year between preorder and shipment isn't too crazy compared to the old MOTUC Club Eternia subscription. Super7 especially waits a really long time to release Thundercats Ultimates! They are only at wave 3 while starting before TMNT Ultimates. Since the payoff is no sold out made to preorder, If only NECA would do the same. All those NECA exclusives are insanity to keep up with, not to mention after market "asking prices"...
@@razrentals8897 its a spray can you can get at walmart , it will dull the finish with just 1 light coat , i might end up doing that with mine lol he is shiny compared to the other 2 turtles
I almost might grab Raph at some point they did a great job upscaling along with detail articulation etc. I do appreciate this in depth review but at the same time I am already invested in so many other turtle things already almost bought the Mutagen Man.
I don’t blame you. There’s only so much everyone can afford. Super7 is so expensive too. I’d collect ultimates gi joe and power rangers too, but I’m pretty much limiting my toy collecting to Tmnt, Thundercats, silverhawks, and Ghostbusters. I sold all of my legends except for the Spider-Man characters. I need to pick up more vintage pieces I need from Tmnt, but these new releases have put everything else on hold haha.

At the moment it's too hard to pick for me haha. I mostly lean towards the original toyline over the cartoon designs so a lot of Ultimates designs will win for me, but all of the extra NECA lines really look amazing too. The movie line, mirage, and the arcade line plus the crazy obscure cartoon items kind of push NECA ahead of everyone else. Those new monster turtles look awesome as well. Super7 is doing an amazing job though and I'd definitly pick Mutagen Man, Muckman, Baxter, Bebop, Slash, and some others over how they look in the cartoon.

I haven’t got into customization yet, but I’m curious to see how that would look.
