      That is an amazing watch, bought the previous model and kept it till I bought the diver pro 49mm. Had 3 models in mind those days, yours, the 49mm and the 46mm DG. Enjoy it in good health:)

    Nooooo......I just bought an Aquis 45.5 blue dial...Not sure whether I can return it but this one is simply amazing ! Bought it from an authorized retailer and this was my 1st purchase...in fact it's my 2nd Oris after a nearly 9 years. I wish I had done some research...Great review as always, I'll rush to see if I can do something...Edit: you have a relatively small wrist, THIS 43.5 watch wears nicely on your wrist. If you remember, I said a few times that they all wear smaller. I've got a 7.5 wrist and my 49mm wears just like a PO 45.5 and perhaps smaller, definitely more comfortable. To remove the bracelet, screw on both sides, you'll need a tool or someone to help holding one end. For easy swaps I bought the tool from a depth gauge model as my 49mm came in the small package without the tool for bracelet removal. Edit2: the Aquis on your wrist looks far more balanced than your lum. edition:)

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  3 года назад +1

      Hope you're able to work something out with your AD!
      Yes I do have a small wrist but I don't mind the larger watches 😄
      You're completely right, this 43mm watch is more balanced on my wrist than the 40mm Pointer date haha

    • @mathewazzopard8100
      @mathewazzopard8100 3 года назад

      @@engineer_wannabe actually they won't do anything about it, they said to me a load of excuses including the warranty card that is filled/stamped. The watch was not sized, haven't done anything with it, still in the box with all the protective films. Of course, this is the only watch I bought from them which is why I had that response.... can't buy 2 in one day, will keep the 46mm as I've tried a friend's on and it's great on my wrist. I usually opt out of blue dials, but I've got a few with yellow/orange markers so I got this one in blue. The new cal. at 43mm will be great fit now during winter months with jackets and all that as bulky watches aren't the best, but I want one ! Edit: am sure a 46mm Aquis can fit your wrist without any probs, I did like the 43mm on you than your own watch:)

    I think there's a couple of problems Oris will face with the Oris 400.
    At a stroke they just made all the original Aquis watches a second choice "settle" option. If I'd recently bought an original, I'd be pissed.
    Secondly, would you buy a £2700 watch that looks, to all intents and purposes, exactly like a £1600 watch ??
    The mechanism isn't going to sell it to a lot of people.
    Going for a new model might have been a better move.

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  3 года назад

      Agreed, a brand new watch would have been an explosive way to launch this movement.
      I personally don't mind having a watch that looks identical to a slightly cheaper watch. I'm happy knowing how special it is. That said, I absolutely understand what you're saying.
      Thanks for watching!

    They are overpriced at $4400. So many better options within the Tudor line in the price range!

    • @DWilliam1
      @DWilliam1 3 года назад

      That’s Canadian money. Probably about $3500 in the US which is a grand less then the Tudor BB 58. I thinks it’s a bargain. ORIS has always made a top notch case and great bracelet. Nice sunburst faces and ceramic bezel. The only weak spot was the garbage Sellita movement. I own many watches from Breguet and Rolex to Omega to Breitling to ORIS. The fit and finish of my Lake Baikal ORIS is right up there. If only it has this new movement.

    • @superfast30
      @superfast30 3 года назад

      @@DWilliam1 A Tudor BB is $4330 CAD! That being said, I do think its a great watch and a crap ton better value than a eta powered Breitling diver for example.

    • @DWilliam1
      @DWilliam1 3 года назад

      @@superfast30 In the states on the gray market(Jomashop, Watchmaxx) BB58 is $4,695. I wouldn’t compare the retro looking BB because it looks terrible. Even if they were the same price I still like the ORIS better. 10 year service and warranty is no joke. I also do t under and the hate for ETA my Breitling has. COSC certifies one and keeps the time as well as my Explorer. Also, I have a 1999 Seamaster 300 professional Chronometer I bought new in 1999 that has an ETA 1122 and it’s had exactly 1 service and keeps very accurate time. I think the whole in house movement is very overrated and is mostly a selling point(I’m not talking very innovated or special movements). Companies like ETA and Valjoux make great movements that companies like Patek used to use.

    • @superfast30
      @superfast30 3 года назад

      @@DWilliam1 I’m well aware of very market. We are talking retail! Looks are subjective. I feel that most breitlings are absolute monstrosities but that means nothing to someone who really likes them.

    Can’t see how thy can justify an extra 1400 dollars for this movement . It’s an oris aquis with an alright in house movement . Tudor increase was 400 dollars when they went in-house. I like oris and own the lake baikal but the price on this is a joke .. can’t see it being a big seller unless they revisit their pricing ..

  • @Tonysoprano497
    @Tonysoprano497 3 года назад +1

    In the real world this is garnish and makes no difference to the wearing experience. 5 days is of no consequence if you use it as a daily wear or have a large collection and regularly rotate all your watches . Also there is no cosc certification and accuracy dosent appear to be fantastic so you are probably going to reset in any case . In the unlikely event a selita has problems and is out of warranty you can get it fixed locally and very cheaply . Send an in-house back to the manufacturer and expect a very lengthy wait .. oris are very much a mid tier brand and resale reflects this . I’ve no no doubt that this will absolutely tank big style on the resale market . I just can’t understand why Tudor go in-house with a 400 price hike and oris charge 1400 when they do likewise . I’m an oris fan owned 7 or 8 in the past but they are very much mid tier and don’t see how sticking quite a pedestrian in house is going to change this ..
