- Welcome back lovely people! Today's video is just a shot little tutorial on how I've been dying my sola wood flowers! You have have seen a few channels using these in their DIYs, and I love love love them! In fact, I'm doing all of my wedding florals with them!!! The easier way to mix acrylic and water is to start with the paint and thin it out with little bits of water at a time. Once it’s runny enough to “pour”, you can dump the rest of the water in and it’ll dilute instantly

@@theimpatientdiyer7445 Yes, there is, and I think there was a sale price on the subscriptions recently, too. Also, there are R.I.P. bags, where you can get 80-150 flowers....that have very minor mistakes in them. I just paid $6.99 a bag, and I am so happy that I took a chance on them.

Have you tried alcohol ink or mica pigment powders? Now I have to buy the flowers so I can try them…lol. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Mica powder is highly pigmented and you need very little.
Also, maybe if you leave them in longer, they will better take color. I think the dye they sell likely works best, but I’m going to experiment bc you inspired me!

It is the Yucca plant part of the tapioca family. They are actually ALL HAND CUT FLOWERS.
Thanks for the short tutorial! What are the other color names from the thumbnail? You mention the deep burgundy with some black, but what are the yellow and the other pinks called? Or are both lighter pinks just lighter versions of the deep burgundy? Thanks!
So cute! At what point in the drying process do you spray with the vegetable glycerin? And would you say it's more like a thorough coating or light sprits?
I did it when they were completely dry! It worked out amazingly for me :)
Has anyone used anything other than the Sola Softener? Sola sent me an incomplete order and they won’t correct the order or accept returns. So to salvage the order, what can I swap out for the sola brand softener? Thanks for any suggestions!
You just add very little vegetable glycerin. That's what I've learned so far. If you add too much, they'll dry but won't feel dry to the touch
Will the paint rub off on your hands after it dries or if you have a wet hand and accidentally touch the flowers? I'd be worried it would ruin my dress if so.

I am so sorry, I did not actually make these flowers, I purchased them so I am not sure how many you would be able to make :( I only purchase and dye flowers, sorry for the confusion!

How long roughly would you say to let them dry before spraying them with glycerin? I am making Bouttonieres and corsages from sola!
Yay they are gonna turn out so cute!!!! I usually left them to dry overnight and then sprayed them with glycerin. I let them sit again overnight after that:)

Which kind of paint do you use for this?
I just use any acrylic paint I have on hand! Doesn't have to be expensive, but I don't recommend dollar tree ones if you want good coverage :)

Both Sola Wood Flowers and Oh You're Lovely will do sales and I believe both sites do wholesale! I signed up for their emails and was able to get amazing sale prices!

Add glycerin to keep your flowers from getting crunchy
I ended up spraying them with it after and they turned out beautifully soft!!!! That stuff is awesome lol
