hello@wolferandco.com
We DIYed our flowers.. like, planted them, harvested them, arranged them. Yikes. 10/10 do NOT recommend 😂😂. They were beautiful Zinnias, though!
Too much diy lol!
Wow, that's dedication!
I thought about doing this
Definitely too much diy lol I’ll be using fake flowers
Props to you at least lol!
As a florist, please also don’t forget that you will need lots of prep space, a cool place to store your arrangements and a few extra people and a way to transport your designs to the venue.
Idk if you’ve done a video, but would love to see centerpiece ideas that you’ve seen/liked that aren’t flowers or candles.
Yes!!!
Agreed!
Yesss, thats a great idea!
Also good and awful ideas for centerpieces (for example a disgusting one is real fish in small bowls and the couple rarely seem to care what happens to said fish 😱 it's far more common than it should be)
I've been looking everywhere for this exact thing.
If you want flowers but aren't super picky, I'd highly recommend the "many small vases" look for centerpieces. It made it really easy for others to help with no stress. The bouquets we could get artsy with our bridesmaids, but for the vases we could just go "1 big flower, 1 small flower, 1 greenery, cut 'em long enough that they stick out the top and short enough that they don't fall over" and it was so easy even a dad could do it :)
Sounds like it wasn't super stressful.
We DIY'd my sister's wedding flowers and probably will for mine, too! Flowers don't matter a ton to either me or her, so she and I were/are both okay with a just a simple arrangement on each table made of grocery store flowers. For my sister's vases, we bought Ikea glasses that she and her new hubby could use afterwards. Cost us $150 total. Boquet and centerpiece making party with my bridesmaids the day before, complete with champagne and a movie!
I have a dill plant that turned into tree height. There was so much that I cut it and dried into bouquets. They are now my wedding bouquets and decor. Lol
Brilliant!
As a floral designer with over 40 years experience and literally thousands of weddings under my belt I appreciate your advice to DIY Brides. I would simply add that floral design is an art that requires talent and time to perfect. Some brides are capable of doing their own hair and makeup others hire professionals. Your wedding flowers are going to be in all the photos and that puts even more importance on getting them right. I can produce flowers for an average wedding in 15-20 labor hours. but I am 5 times faster than any novice designer, Time and experience are the major considerations.
Do an unboxing of sola flowers from Southern Blooms Co!
For my friends wedding, we diyd our bouquets on the night before the wedding for a fun thing to do together (costco brought flowers and wild greens from her aunts house) then for all the centre piece everyone planted flowers and brought them to the set up. She had three vases per table and let her family put them together (green hydrangeas and pink wildflowers). Then for the church decor her neighbor planted hundreds of gladiolus to fill the church and we used left over hydrangeas.
It was a lot of work but totally worth it. The bride didnt care as long as it was pretty and was completely surprised by how beautiful everything looked. Honestly i wouldn't change a thing if i could go back because everyone put in so much work but it was so much fun for all the grandmas and aunts and bridal party setting up and to be included.
My fiancees grandmother is a retired florist so we are going to ask her to do our flowers with us. I think it is going to be so special
I'm having my wedding in October and it was important to me that I DIY my flowers. A job I had was making Christmas wreaths for my grandfather's tree farm (so I have found memories of it) and recreationally make my own arrangements. I still wanted the help figuring out budgeting and flower recipes so I did some research and I found a local florist who provides DIY and Consultation packages. I am loving the process so far and working with the florist to help design my wedding!
I did my DIY flowers and centrepieces. It was stressful but that’s cause when people try to help (their ideas come out, becoming not your idea and then becomes stressful) hence why I did them by myself in the end.
I DIYed my fresh flowers and loved it so much too! Now, I have started my own event flower company to do others. One way to make it easier or cheaper is to do candles and greenery for some of your centerpieces (I made a video on this using all dollar tree stuff!). You can also you bridesmaid bouquets as centerpieces 😊
Wow!
My mother-in-law championed the organization of DIYing florals and we had a floral making party with my bridal party and it was super fun! I am very thankful that she was able to essentially take on all of the floral stress and they ended up looking beautiful!
I DIYed my own flowers and....IT WAS THE BEST DECISION EVER! I didn’t practice, we ran to so many grocery stores the day before, and I did it the afternoon before the wedding with all my relatives watching.
I got married July 3rd, and I wanted all white flowers with greenery. Simple, right? Wrong! They had dyed all the flowers red and blue (with some white) for 4th of July! We have a cold basement, and the flowers held up great, even in hot weather!
We didn’t use real flowers for centerpieces we used moss from the Dollar Tree, lanterns, candles, and Sola wood flowers!
Accent flowers, the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnières were so simple! Nobody could tell I DIYed it, and I did them all by myself. Took about 2ish hours?
I enjoyed the experience, was so proud, and saved so much money! Honestly, it made me want to try again for a friend and possibly go into the business.
I'll have to DIY the florals because guests like taking the centerpieces home and i don't want to end up with a fee for missing vases or items 🥲 I'm not doing favors since they're already taking the decorations home...
Omg yes! Are you Latina? It’s so common for Latinos to take the centerpieces!
@@ruthm6437 yes it really is!
Ask your florist if their fees include the vases! It was included in my package
@@ruthm6437 yes! i have to plan around the tias taking things home 😭
Unboxing pre-made bouquets would be fantastic! Always enjoy your looks including today's classic look. Thanks for all your information.
I LOVE making flower arrangements and had my heart set on DIYing the florals for our wedding, but like you said-I don’t want that stress in the days before the wedding. I settled for DIYing my bridal bouquet with faux flowers in advance and will be getting a florist to match up the centrepieces. It’s a happy middle ground, I got to have my fun without any stress!
I bought my flowers from southern bloom co already arranged! My wedding is in November and I got them in the mail about 2 weeks ago. I’m obsessed with them!! All my bridesmaids are excited that they’ll actually have something to keep.
Love your videos! I play them on background constantly almost every day to learn & plan as we get near our wedding weekend in April! Would love to see a review video of buying premade pieces from those sellers! This video is great, I enjoy hearing your thought process & range of ideas. I am DIY my bouquet with silk flowers and I wish I saw this video months ago, lol.
I would love to see an unboxing on pre packaged fresh flowers! Thanks Jaime you rock!!
Yes, please, please show us the premise options from these companies! That would be tremendously helpful. I’m trying to sort out florals and it’s a little overwhelming.
Yes to the unboxing because I've been looking into the Sola wood flowers for such a long time!
Dying my sola wood flowers while watching this video lol. They're super easy to do and 200 flowers took me an hour to Dye. Plus I'm not getting married until October but I wanted to have time to make mistakes. But.... these are super fool proof and there are a ton of videos on RUclips to help.
Flowers were the one of the most important parts of my wedding. My mom and I ordered from a wholesaler and they came out amazing. Also, I only had 15 people and one table so it wasn’t a ton. We did bring them all the way to Nantucket on a ferry though 😂
Love your videos. Thanks for keeping my love of planning sparked. Most of my brides are DIY so this is helpful
Btw I really appreciate you making these videos as honest as you could be . I have seen others post about these kinda things but kinda pushes you to their opinion rather than actually making it your own decision.
Have been trying to figure out wholesale flowers for days but wasn't loving anything, solawood flowers are so cool! I loved that they had a variety of dried items on sale so I can DIY "pinterest" worthy things IN ADVANCE and none of the family has to worry right on top of the wedding, maybe we will all get some sleep :P
I craft with sola wood flowers regularly, and I cannot wait until I am engaged and can actually use them for my own wedding
I used sola and got all of my flowers and filler for under $200. Absolutely recommend!!
Happy recent birthday! I also personally am doing luv sola flowers and verdissimo for preserved greenery so that the whole thing is longer lasting! It’s been fun for me so far! My aunt is helping and so is my mom
my mom and I (mostly my mom) did my florals for my quinceanera , picked them up Thursday from downtown LA, prepped and arranged them all that night, by Saturday they were bloomed and ready, looked beautiful!!! But it was outside and a really hot day so they started to fall but still looked cool hahah
Hi from sydney Jamie. I was matron of honour for a great friend. I did our bouquets, boutonniers and corsage from silk flowers as my present to them. The table decos were glass vases with a combo of red, marron and navy christmas baubles and fake berry sprigs in thos shades. Was great fun.
I’m DIYing my florals through Ling’s Moment and they are so pretty!!
I just recently found The Bouqs Co on my own!! It's a relief to hear you recommend them 😅🥰🥰
I needed this video! I’m hoping to DIY my florals because there won’t be that many. I’m relying on a ton of Christmas trees to fill up the space. I would like a florist to do my bouquet though
Sola wood flowers is going to save my life come the big day! I'm not getting married for a while yet but I have a fragrance sensitivity and thought I wouldn't be able to have flowers at all since plastic ones don't look right and still have a plastic smell. I live in Canada as well and the shipping is only like 50 dollars (USD)! I'm so happy I thought I was going to have to come up with some alternative and was coming up empty on ideas for that
I'm so happy that I diy my flowers we used all wild flowers from my mom's country property and dryer them. We did our centerpieces, bouquets ,boutonnieres ,Arch and all the other decor for our venue with all the flowers we picked and dried and they were 100% free. I really wanted dry flowers for our fall wedding now we're only 17 days away.
I'm trying to figure out my flowers right now I would LOVE a video of you trying out. I cant really afford a flourist but flowers are still super important to me
My Mum and aunt are coming 2 days earlier and we will do all florals together...My mum is fantastic with flowers. On friday, the day before (we are sleeping at the location), we will be doing the tree install, this will take the longest and indeed I did a loooooot of reasearch. Cannot wait how it will all turn out :)
I have DIYed my bouquets, boutonnières, corsages and decorations, all silk … done and it’s 4 months until the wedding. It was fun!
Still here supporting Jamie even though I've already bought my Sola wood flowers and have someone to arrange them for me 😂❤️
I am currently DIYing Sola Wood flowers. I like them. still figuring them out, but started a couple months early because they are fake. it's nice to be able to glue flowers on stuff too
YES PLEASE ORDER AND REVIEW SOLA !!! I’m about to book a florist and I’m on the fence still about DIY or professional!!!!
Doing a video of you unboxing diy flowers would be awesome! I’m still deciding if I want to diy my wedding flowers so I’d love to watch your video if you made one
Yes I love the unboxing idea! Please do it!
I would love to see unboxings! I am really considering DIY-ing my flowers and I am interested to see how these sites work!
I’m doing dried flower diy with lavender and baby’s breath and fresh Ivy accents. Im happy to have so much time to work with the dried flowers and then only have to work with the ivy day before
I just came here to say, PLEASE DONT DIY FLOWERS. We thought about doing it, but de cided to hire a florist 2-weeks before our wedding and it was hands down the best decision we made.
Honestly I agree with u it takes a lot of help and creativity. Not everyone has that patience. Personally I’m diying a LOT of my wedding only bc I love projects and it comes easy to me and my family. I do love real flowers so I will be giving my bridesmaids real boutiques but most of the decors will be silk or fake flowers.
I NEED this blouse. I'm obsessed.
Omg yes to another unboxing video!! ❤️
Yeeeees!! Please order them and do an unboxing!! I want nice flowers or wood flowers but don't have a huge budget for them so it's hard to know whats worth it... Thank you for another great video!! :)
HELL YES to offering a review for us to watch. Especially solawood flowers. I was thinking of using them myself.
bloom culture is a great resource too.
Fantastic video as always, and I love love your blouse!
Yes to the unboxing video!!
We are DIYing but with artificial flowers. My mother is super creative and is doing all centre peices and bouquets. This is happening next year! We already found a great company with great quality artificial flowers Lings Moments. 💐 🙏🏽
Wow I don’t think I’ve seen that style of shirt look even half as good on anybody else ever. I just started the video but I wanted to say you look amazing.
love your videos! We always hear about things the bride shouldn't do on their wedding day, but It sounds like if there's nothing to do, the bride is expected to just sit around and wait until getting ready for the ceremony. What are things that brides SHOULD be doing on their wedding day?
I'm really lucky that I have a friend who is a florist as a hobby and grandparents which are huge green thumbs! The only fairly easy thing for my wedding 😂
One thing to maybe consider: you can order the bouquet and maybe some other items, but I for example want to do green garlands and "chandeliers" myself with the help of my family and wedding coordinator (who will do my centerpieces as she likes to do that). So you can save some costs by outsourcing only somethign and DIYing something as well.
I would love to see an unboxing of the flowers you talked about!
I’d love to see you order and review the flowers!!
I would love to see an unboxing of some of these! Specially borrowed blooms
Yes to the unboxing!
yaaaaaaassssssss order them and review, PLEASE......I'd love that.
I'd love to see a video of the Bouq! They're one of the companies I'm considering for DIY bouquets and centerpieces.
Great company. Great product. Great customer service!
Jamie, is there any way you can do a video on how to do a post elopement reception? From save the dates to the actual event? If I were to elope I’d still like to have a full wedding reception. Is it possible? I know a lot of us are in the same boat with covid. And you’re the best of the best!! I need your advice, jamie!!!
I'm planning to do bleached florals when I get married, bc less expensive + more time to DIY, and they're just pretty :)
DIY-ed my flowers for my wedding (...although it was really only my bridal bouquet). Did “pick your own flowers” from the farm we did our CSA through this year! ......Learned a lot from the experience....never really practiced....ah....but it was fun to put together (albeit a little last minute). But my favorite part.......a whole buck of flowers cost me - $12!!!! TWELVE! Sentimental + price = WIN!
I would love to see you review these products!
Please do a review of these products! I want to know!💙💚💜
Wish this video was out 2 week earlier before i decide to Diy all the flower from bridesmaids, bouquets, corsages and centerpieces
Flower Moxie has great tutorial and makes it easy to order a package for your wedding
Very helpful definitely going to check out Sola! What would be some of your guys suggestions for faux greenery?
I’m getting married in a Catholic Church on 12/30/21. They will have the church completely decorated with poinsettias & Christmas trees. I found faux poinsettias, pine cones, pine tree branches, cranberries etc for bouquets & boutonnières. Saving a ton of time & brain space 🥰
I’m doing a Christmas wedding too! 12/11/21. Our church already has a ton of Christmas decorations so I’m hoping there won’t be much to do on my end. Maybe a couple of vases with red and white roses in them since I’m not a fan of poinsettias. I’m super excited! I’m going to hire a florist to make my bouquet but other than that I’m pretty set. I made sure to buy all the florals I needed right after Christmas so they were 70% off. Best decision I could have made. Saved a ton of money!
@@alexiscormier4059 Aw, Congrats! We cleared the shelves the day after Christmas and got all of the deals! We’re doing a lot of clear vases, filled with water, cranberries, pine tree garland and tea light candles for center pieces. Pinterest & Jamie W have become my best friends!
Totally on board for an floral unboxing
Omg i wish i watched this video before my wedding, bought bulk flowers at costco and my poor bridesmaids took hours to do them.
Would love to see some information on Cruise Weddings, how to word invitations, pros and cons or any information as there isn't alot out there.
I never regret my real flowers. Totally worth the money!
We’re doing dried flowers, so I’m DIYing everything!
Yes to an unboxing!!!!
Omg, I'd love to see a review video ❤️
Would love to see the review of the pre-made sets!
Do you have any suggestions for the bride that is going to go the fake flower route (only for center pieces)?
If you use dried florals you could also make them earlier! I don't know what I'll be doing yet...
Im getting married the 10th of April and am doing my own fake flowers! I got the blush and cream bouquet sets from Ling’s and they are beautiful. I’m highly recommend Ling’s Moments
So glad to hear this cos I'm looking at
I admire everyone who has ever DIY’d their flower or is thinking about it. I would love to do it, but I recognize I do not have the personality to do so. Like, I would be a monster if someone did something different 😩. I also love flowers too much and I wouldn't be doing them justice if I tried to do it myself.
Jamieee, please, do us a video about digital wedding invites? 🙏🏻
I NEED THE ORDERING/UNBOXING/REVIEWING FLOWERS VIDEO 😍😍😍
Please do a test of the bouq co and fifty flowers!!!
My mom DIY my older sister and mine prom flowers, as well as my sister’s wedding flowers. They were really nice, and we will most likely be DIYing my wedding flowers. We only use artificial flowers.
Great information, thnx👌💚
DIY spectrum is the word you're looking for!! XD
I’m not engaged nor have a boyfriend but I know my friends who are florist will be doing my flowers for my wedding. They did both my sisters weddings for a good price. And I’m planning on having my sisters and friend do the hair and makeup. Just look for connections in your community.
Into the Bouqs idea!!
yessssssss! do an unboxing!!!
Please do an unboxing of pre made florals! That would be EPIC to see! Also, Globalrose is an excellent resource! (Zero affiliation or sponsorship) I have ordered LARGE and small quantities from them several times and have never been disappointed by the service or quality... 💗
I'd love to see an unboxing!
I’m getting married in May 2022 ❤️ can you please do a review video of the mentioned services. I don’t have a huge flower budget, but diying all of the bouquets scares me so I would love an affordable consulting option.
