I never got the praise for that color scheme. Just because something is rare doesn't mean it's good. Sounding is rare.
No doubt you would pull it off but it's weird on a S6 lol
I think it looks pretty awesome. The yellow on the top and bottom trim from the rear panels makes it look just… I mean it’s funky, but I like it. 5/5 should see more cars like this on the road.

It's not something beautiful in the regular way, but it's interesting and fun. A playful nod to the original. Good job!
If you're going to hypershift it next week, DON'T peel it! This came out so retro! It absolutely brought back the spirit of the VW Harly. Great color choices and super fun to watch driving. It's one of those iconic "huh? Wait, what?" car moments. All the love for this one!

I share the feeling. It's too much cut out pieces. A hypershift could be the magic ingredient that would make all those colours look wholesome together.

Love this!!! The Harlequins were hideous when they were new, but are now beautiful to their rarity status. As a VW guy, I Thank you for this video Fonzi.
It's not just the rarity. Those particular colors and the style of fashion and advertising at the time are well represented. They do a good job of catching the mood of what some people thought was cool at the time.😂

I know its not for everyone... Its something speciel... But IMO its the most legendary "color" ever made by VW (right next to the white/red-combo on a Samba)

I always liked the Harlequins so I think it’s a good take. It would be the ultimate base color comparison with a pearl though. Just for kicks
5 for effort, 1 for appeal. I thought the original looked like someone went to a pick and pull and scavenged parts, and other than the lack of bondo on this, I still feel that way, lol. But it was fun to watch.
Absolutely agree. And that is exactly what I thought too every time someone drove by here in one of these 😂 Like ugh did they have to replace some parts and the original colour wasn't available anymore? Did they repaint it or what was going on

honestly it clashes so bad, but you turned what looked rather tacky on the original to something that looks more refined and smooth

Absolutely amazing. Came out spot on. We had a Benetton Golf when I lived in Germany and this definitely looks the part.
I remember the 90's... United Colours of Benetton did things like tis car... and don't forget the BMW art Car collection -
Today, DYC makes history and confused the DMV...
DMV clerk: "So you want to register your Audi sir... What colour is your car...?"
Fonzie: "All of them..."
"What colour is your car?"
"Yes"
I remember seeing them around the VW dealerships. I always figured it was just swapped body panels from four different Golfs to mark them as dealer loaners to deter theft.

I remember seeing the Volkswagen golf when i was younger and never thought why they did that lol. I will say the yellow definitely stands out. Definitely gotta do a hyper shift one.

Does not look harmonic to my eye (especially the big yellow bracket), however it brings back memories 😬
I think a multicolored dip is so much more unique than all that matte black or grey.

I remember seeing a Golf with this color set rolling around Tacoma WA, years ago. I always thought it looked strange, but never knew what the color option was, and that it was a factory offering.
I was leary on the Force Teal and the Cinnamon Red, but YOU ALL nailed it! I really want to do this next with the blue pattern! Bravo!!!
Trying to get a hypershift over this would be very interesting!
Different colored hypershifts on each color would be insane. Like pick a hypershift that works great on each color individually instead of just one over the whole thing.
It would be so much work to tape everything off again. But think of how unique that would be.

Not my cup of tea but I see where you were headed. You nailed the look. It definitely has that old Johnny Cash song , "One piece at a time" vibe going on.
I think the hypershift should be the "Part Deux" to this project.
My memory says the red yellow and cyan are close enough but the blue should be brighter and have a slightly purple hue. Love the style and appreciate the efforts it took.

Do a two-tone paint job where you and Gabe each select a base color. Then do the same with a hypershift and / or a pearl or maybe both. Spray the hypershift and or pearl is across both sides of the chosen base colors. Like this +. And don't do a solid line. Allow to mix in middle.

An interference pearl over this, hypershift or not, could do very interesting things.
Personally I don't like the specific color combination, but could see the effect working with something other than the yellow

Looks fun! I'd love to see the same principle using hypershifts over black base. I mean a predominantly blue hypershift where the blue is now, predominantly red hypershift where the red is now and so on.....Would be mind blowing! Keep up the great work guys.

Definitely eye catching. Youve got enough colours in your arsenal to do every panel a different colour then hyper shift over them all then you got a little colour with shift for everybody 🎉🎉
Totally had forgotten about the Harlequin Paint Theme, very unique and cool and 5 out of 5 and you and Gabe did a great job. Looking forward to seeing the finished job after adding Hypershift (maybe 2 different ones splitting the car down the middle?).
The satin colors look better. I agree on testing the hypershift over the colors!

I always thought that paint scheme looked like something the evil rodeo clown from the movie Shakes The Clown would drive. Cudos to you guys for the hard work . That's a helluva lot for your followers that wanted this.

I've been loving the videos lately. They put a lot of work to show us different things, like multiple base colors with the same pearls... Good jobs guys🫡👌 This project was awsome, defenitely need a hypershit on top in the next video 👏💪
The hyper shift on top ideas sounds pretty rad cuz this needs to be elevated. I’m 48 and owned a Jetta in the late 90s and I hated the Harlequin back then too though so 🤷♂️

Definitely a cool project. Would love to see this with a hypershift. Would be cool to see some other pattern work projects, maybe some funky hypershift camo, line work, etc.
