The biggest issue replacing halogen w/ LED's is putting the correct low beam high beam in the right spot, THEN connecting the correct wire plug to the correct light!! I've watched 3 videos on replacing headlights, NO ONE is showing that. These LED housings can be a little tougher to put in, however, thanks for your time & effort!
I never use high beams, so I only replaced the low beams and there was no potential for a mixup. I indicated the lows are the outside bulb, but you're right. Thanks for watching and commenting.
FYI, some year C5 Corvettes (mine is a 2000) the resistance in these new LED bulbs will not allow the headlights to flip down after you turn them on. You have to turn the stock halogen high beams on, and then cycle the switch off. The headlights will then will flip down. I think you can install a resistor, but this is no big deal for me. The light output is clearer and way brighter. I am very pleased with the end result for the cost of the install.
I've noticed that I have to turn the lights off before I turn the car off, or they won't go down but never tried high beams. I guess the resistor would fix that, but now it's habit that I turn them off before turning the key. Not sure how it works with automatic lights turned on since I turned that feature off, never liked having the lights flip up and down if I didn't think it was necessary.
YellowVette04 I have a Canadian delivered Corvette, so I am not able to turn the twilight sentinel feature off. Also, my fog lights are only able to come on when it is dark or when the sentinel is on. I can't turn the fog lights on when it isn't dark out, so I can't cruise with just the fog lights. It sucks, but I do get a speedo that displays 300 mph which is awesome. Thanks again.
Scott Fischer i disabled this on my by pulling the relay for the automatic twilight feature. Relay 34 or something. Now I have full control over my head lights.
The only issue, which I kinda covered in another vid, is the lights won't go down if the car is off. Simple solution is to turn your headlights off while the car is still running. If you forget, like I do sometimes, turn on high beams and then turn the lights off with high beams are still on.
No hyper flash. They may not flip down if you turn your car off first. Easy fix is remember to turn the lights off before you turn the car off. OR you can put your high beams on and close the lights. I have a video if the description isn't clear enough. East install
I put the same bulbs in that you did. But with the new leds in the headlights won’t go down no matter what I do and when the headlights are turned off they turn into a strobe light and just flicker and won’t stop until I turn the headlights on
I don't have the flickering issue, but it's common for headlights to not go down when you switch to LED. It's an easy workaround. ruclips.net/video/TqdDZ1c4khA/видео.html
thanks for your great video learned a lot . thinking of doing same think real soon great job' appreciate all u guys do for us who aren`t very well versed working on cars.
I see that when you order these leds they come in a pack of 2 bulbs. Do the low and high beam come in the pack of 2 bulbs? Or are you only replacing the high beam bulbs on each side of the Vette?
Your vette is similar to my C5 same colour try the duel colour led fog lights there great there white turn them off and back on there yellow so you can choose witch colour without changing the bulb
I saw those. I have a more recent video and I decided to go all white up front. I did like the yellow, but decided it was time for a change. Thanks for watching and great color choice on the vette 👍
Not the best light distribution when used with the factory housings, but i did angle them down to not blind other drivers. Aftermarket projector lenses is the way to go for best lighting.
Quick update, lights are installed and they are way better. Did you upgrade the high beams as well to led? My low beams look brighter than my high beams lol
Glad you like em. I did not upgrade my high beams. I live in an area that has lots of traffic and roadway lighting, so there's almost never a situation where I need high beams. Like you said, the low beams are now so bright that I definitely don't need high beams.
You got the parking light which is called the daytime running light DLI then the fog light is the round light I call that the driving light, then you got the headlight I like that
It's just the running lights turned on with the foglights on. I switched out the yellow fogs for white after I switched the DRLs to switchbacks. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
YellowVette04 I see Thx I just got an 04 C5 with 37k same color as yours so I am new with corvettes I had a C4 for short period of time.I will learn a lot from you.Thank you again 👊
That's awesome! You're gonna love the car. Depending on previous owner, I would clean the "uders". You don't want those clogging up and causing issues. I have a video on where they are. I just forgot to show the 3rd one on the driver's side. Good luck with it and anytime you have a question, just let me know.
I realize this is a bit old and you've probably moved on to something else but did you have any problems with flicker or aiming the LEDs? When I put them in my Challenger they flickered, I had to get an anti-flicker module that was fixed but I never could get the LED's aimed correctly. Did you deal with any of that?
I still have the car and I'm still using these same LEDs without issue. The only thing for C5s is the lights won't go down if the car is off, so you have to turn the lights off while the car is still running. Your issue might be due to the CAN Bus system in Dodge cars. I have a Ram, so I know all about the stupid system lol. You need CAN Bus compatible lights. I changed my lights in my Ram to HID and I needed a CAN Bus kit.
The stock housings aren't ideal for LED/HID because of the excess glare. I did adjust mine down and so far I have not been flashed. Thanks for watching and the support.
Brother I installed the GTR leds and I love the lighting and look but now the lights flip up but not back down unless I flick the stock high beams on I want to do the high beam in led as well but then the lights will never go down what do you think
This is common. Try turning your headlights off before you turn the car off. This works for me and I do the high beam thing when I forget. I didn't replace my high beams because I never use high beams, so I'm not sure if the high beam trick will work afterwards or not.
They twist right into the socket and the car's electrical connector clicks into a pigtail that's on the light. These bulbs are about 3yo at this point and LEDs are always advancing, so I'm sure there's better bulbs than this one now.
Thanks for the video. Got a question. I noticed u didn't put in LED high beams. You're not the only one. Any reason why people tend to only replace the low beams with LED's and not the high beams at the same time? Thanks!
I've had HID conversion kits in my previous cars and I've never had the need to put on high beams, so I assumed LED would be the same and it is. I also live in a populated area that has a lot of street lights and other car traffic, so turning high beams on and off is annoying. If I lived in a more rural area, maybe I would think about it. Even the few times I am in the "country", low beams are good enough. Thanks for watching.
Thank u for responding so quickly. I live in a very rural area with tons of deer. Lots of backroads with no street lights. I use high beams all the time. BTW why is needed a capacitor or resistor in order to put the lights down with the car off? Thanks again for the speedy reply!
If you turn the car off with the headlights on and then turn the lights off, they won't go down. The resistor will fix this issue. I've read, but haven't tried, if you flash your high beams then they'll go down. I didn't install the resistor, so I just remember to turn them off while the car is still running.

for some reason I had the hardest time putting the led bulb back in. I was able to screw the halogen socket in and out easily but the led bulb took an hour for me to get in 😂
I think the plastic is thicker and slightly larger than OEM, so the teeth don't go into the slots or it's hard to turn if they do. I remember these being stubborn as well, but they finally went in.
@@YellowVette04 awesome! Put them into today and seems to be working good. The lights can open and close as well without an issue as well. Thanks again for helping out
