I have to say that I think that your teaching style is totally superb! Your understanding of kata is clearly perfect, kata being a living handbook of combat principles and not a rigid sequence of techniques, and your method of communicating the knowledge contained within the kata is wonderful! This video was a total joy and delight to watch! Thank you so much indeed for a true masterclass!
Wow, thank you! Truly I am blushing 🥰 It's so hard undoing the bad reputation that Kata has outside of Japan - whether by poor communication or bad faith, kata really is misunderstood. Hopefully, one video at a time, we can change that perception. Thank you for this beautiful message 🙏🏻
Ah, thank you so much! Such kind words 💙 We love this kata, though we are still a long way away from mastery. We really appreciate the time you took to watch and comment :D
Talking about some ideas, the distance to the sun is roughly 108 diameters of the sun and the same goes with the moon. I don't know how it helps to undersant suparimpei. But if sanseru is multiplied by sanchin, it's suparimpei. If sanseru is added to these proverbal 72 virgins, it's suparimpei again. Now I'm thinking about coincidence of the latter while watching Brian being conditioned in 108 ways to go to these 72 virgins. There is definitely a kata named 72 missing in Goju-ryu curriculum as sanseru is just a half of it, methinks.
Maybe if we add together the number of techniques in Fukyu Dai San, plus the day of the week, we get to 72 (and the gates of heaven open?) As always, your comments are a delight to us 😂
@@GojuRyuKarateCentre fukyu dai san is a definite case of blasphemy! Being of orthodox Jundokan, which is So Honbu, I refuse to count it as Goju-yu kata! Any dai san delende est, amen. I mean, osu.
Im really stuck on gojy ryu shorei kan Kiso kumite dai ni. I was wondering if its possible to make a tutorial about it. I noticed there are either different versions or just none on youtube about kiso dai ni.
Hi Second comment on the topic of kiso kumite Will need to do a bit of research on it! We don’t have it in the same way , but cover the principles in other drills Che
