The "basics of Kakie" remind me of the hand movements in Tensho.
Is there a similarity respectively an overarching theme?

Very much so - Tensho and Kakie go together like go and ju 🪷 this is why we introduce Tensho earlier than black belt - it sets up some basics for Kakie and beautifully demonstrates the importance of softness in our karate.
