A wonderful display of joint locks, take downs, grabbing, twisting, trapping, choking, gouging etc. in this video. It is interesting to note that most of the applications end with uke being taken to the floor. This is more practical as most fights in reality end in the ground.
Geki Sai Dai Ichi and Ni are considered basic katas but has elements of a vast array of techniques that are typically found in Goju Ryu schools. Keep up the great work at Goju Ryu Karate Centre Che Sensei and Zoe Sensei.

It only shows someone's ignorance when they say that karate is "just" strikes and kicking - Goju Ryu is a complete system, when taught and explored properly.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment, John Sensei - we are always grateful that you take time to watch our little channel.

So nice of you to say so! Bunkai is Ché's speciality, and I am always amazed how he comes up with them on the fly, with absolutely no prep before we film!

Yup, sound good on 2nd upload. Well worth the wait! 'Stealing' from others is such a harsh, perjorative word... in the words of the infamous Ned Kelly "It's all a matter of perspective, your Honour. I prefer to think of it as 'liberating'." (also, "If you're gunna hang me for liberating a lamb, i may as well take the entire flock.").

Ah, glad it worked on the second upload!

So true! It reminds me of that phrase - you don't train until you get it right: you train until you can't get it wrong!
All the best with exams - we're sure your dojo misses you and can't wait for you to return to training :)

      Hello!
We have touched on it in our flow drill videos, but we definitely need to do a video on taisabaki as a concept, as it will require more time to cover properly. Please watch this space 🙇🏻‍♀️
