Thank you for the information, you have cleared some of my doubts about my 1911 use.

Your videos are all based on solid accurate information without all the hype in most other videos. Keep up the good work. We need more of this and not just watching a bunch of guys spouting off and blowing thru ammo at the range. What you have discussed here have been my thoughts for years. It is good to see confirmation of my experience.

In the Marines, I shot perhaps 20-30k rounds in my 1911 (colt 45) per year. I never had a malfunction. Its was tighter than a nun. Had a full length guide rod with Colts "dual spring". Never used a shok buff (we only had one cracked slide...on a Glock 19:D). Lost goes on.

Excellent video on this topic. I am guilty of falling for some of these myths. Particularly the guide rod, and shock buff myths. I was a USPSA competitor and at the time these were necessary must have enhancements. Fortunately I grew out of this bullshit and in my current 1911 there are none of these so called enhancements.

Thank you, sir. Yes, I too have fallen for some things listed. I think most of us have before. No real harm in that, tho. We all learn over time and experience ✌️

Been out of town for awhile due to deer season, yep another yr of hunting " MOYA GRANDE's " an eating leftover tag soup again, oh well. I have no argument to bring forward on this, but was raised on a 1911 along time ago. So I'm good with all of this, an never gave much credence to alot of the rumors about them. If they shoot for me, I'm good. Been looking at the " TISA'S ", really got me looking at them hard, hmmm. Thx for the vid Antonius

Triggered....Every time slide to frame fit comes up, a "certain demographic" makes the claim that a loose fit doesn't negatively impact accuracy. I don't care. If a company like Tisas can build guns without the rattle, at $400, then literally no other manufacturer (COLT!) has an excuse for shipping rattle traps. Also, looser guns aren't more reliable. All of my USPSA guns are pretty tight and get run at least 1k rounds go through them between cleanings, with zero stoppages due to dirt. So, you dispelled some rumors, but perpetuated other myths.

Thank you for your input, sir. As mentioned a few times in the video, my opinions/beliefs are based on my personal observations and experiences over the past 40 years, which also includes participating in CPSL and IDPA matches, and I stand by them.
Perhaps it would've been more appropriate for me to have said that "loose tolerances *generally* contribute to improved reliability, in most cases."
