"Bolt cutters are your disconnect" reminds me of the apocryphal story of how the term SCRAM came about. The SCRAM button is the emergency shut off for nuclear reactors, and legend has it that it is called that because in the first nuclear power tests, there was a guy stationed above the reactor in a room with a rope that held a boron control rod above the reactor. If the reactor got out of control, it was his job to cut the rope so the boron would drop in and stop the reactor. The tool they gave him to accomplish this task? An axe. And so they called him the Safety Control Rod Axe Man.
scram being used to mean leave quickly predates chicago pile-1 by around 20 years and other witnesses and the schematics of the reactor agree the axe man story is a false etymology(and bullshit in general, there was no axe, the manual scram procedure in case the other systems fail is some of the operators risking their lives to dump liquid cadmium into the reactor), the rods are deployed by a button labeled SCRAM because in the case of a meltdown you press it and scram out of there

I've learnd recently in engineering school that, lowering RPM doesn't always mean reducing fuel consumption and i'ts all about thermodynamics: so when you lower the RPM, the heat exchange between the fuel burning in the cylinder and the cylinder itself increase, and that's not what you want bc a perfect engine would have 0 heat exchange during combustion. I won't get deeper into explanations (surely because i haven't undestood it perfecly) but the conclusion is : the most efficient point for the engine (aka the less you will pay at the fuel pump at the end of the day) is between a high-enough RPM to narrow heat conduction in the cylinder, and not too high to reduce loss by friction between mechanical parts. Typically, in an average 1.4 liter 4 cylinders, the most effcient point is arround 2800 RPM. So in a situation like "The Hill", where it is interesting to see how low the engine can run and glimb up the hill, it is likely that the engine that get the lower consumes the most! I think it would be interesting to do a test where you try both cases to see how big the difference is: one at the lowest RPM possible, and the other at the closest of his "most efficient point". I apologise for my english and thanks for the video!

One day, someone will find this comment. What's your checkpoint in life?
Like currently? Struggle in 20’s so the 30s are less sufferable.
About to be evicted because can’t afford rent :)
Highschool crossed with college life, I’m living two lives and feeling mixed about it
telling people like you to stop talking
@@pourgoi_6100based lmao
there was actually one of these for sale near me in the US and i wanted it so fucking bad but i wasnt able to get ahold of it. they're amazing fun little nuggets, cheers mate
Finally some quality DD Audio Subwoofers ❤
I was pretty shocked to realise this is still Garbage Time lmao. That thing is absolutely the mental image you should get when you hear the phrase 'hot hatch'. Didn't even know they did a hot Charade myself, would be fun to give a thrash around an abandoned housing estate
As someone who's dad owns a turbo car and as someone who has helped tune and rebuild the motor of said car. Seeing this video is pretty neat and also reminds me that we need to finish that car.
What an amazing little nugget. Also I'm excited for the orange contraption.
This car is so cool looking I need one right now!
