Max and Annie killed everyone... unbelievable creativity that just blows me away every time I see them. Kudos... they just leave me wanting for more words... just wow!
This is the best performance I've seen in a long time, pure energy and rhythm thats overwhelming, all the couples were fantastic and the best part is they're maintaining a legacy when it comes to American dance and culture...
At the end of the start dance the way the girl flicks her leg out after the spin. Gave me a huge smile. Just awseome! Lindy hop is now my new favourite thing.
What I like about, people dancing to swing music,in whatever fashion, is that they seem to simply enjoy themselves doing it, getting fully lost in the movement, living for the moment, no compromises! I know this is much harder than it looks, had traditional ballroom lessons myself, but I'm so gonna try this next week! =D
they're so disgustingly talented. so epic. Can you imagine how crazy it'd be to see this in person?? The energy in the room must have been off the charts! thanks for sharing!!
@ArJa2803 Don't know why she didn't come to ILHC this year, but saw her at Herräng and she is still dancing and teaching. Not injured or pregnant. As brilliant and funny as always.
I have no words for how amazing this is. Beautiful, awesome, incredible! What an inspiration for young dancers like me... YOU GUYS KILLED IT! :) Todd+Jo and Max+Annie stole my heart, but everyone was smashing. (and thanks a million for uploading, so fast too.) ps. Todd should get some oxford baggies... he's made for 'em!
COUPLE AT 6:00 - WE NOW KNOW WHAT SPIDERMAN DOES FOR FUN.... those legs be flying! Then couple after - INSANE. STAHP! I love it....replay, replay, replay, replay....
Hi - that was one of the most impressive Gigs I`ve seen by Max Pitruzella - Respect! Nevertheless, I`m still interested to know why Frida Segerdahl was not there. Has she finished her career? Does anybody know more ?
i love that naomi and skye were the only ones really social dancing and they still held their own if not better than some of the other couples that had little patterns.
@DrPracticleHat It's Swing baby! :) (genre of jazz music made famous in the US during the 1920's-1940's --> see Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Cab Calloway, Roy Eldridge, Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman, Chick Webb, Artie Shaw, etc. etc. etc.)
Dance classes for men should be required in high school along with math and history. No matter how bad or good they become, they'll have that sensibility that comes with it all. Kudos to these guys especially dancing today.
The dancing rocked! But, out of all the songs, why that one? It would have been great for a balboa battle, but I didn't feel that it was in-your-face enough for a lindy hop battle...
Hey- Whats about Frida Segerdahl ?? Miss her, because I think she is one of the best social dancers in the world . I thought I` ve seen her partner Sky Humphries. Why does he dance without Frida ? Is she ill, injured, pregnant or vwhat ?
@sbbbjm hardly the only ones social dancing // many were and that says a lot! Also, ummm, last I checked, jazz routines are not social dancing, just saying. That being said, everyone was awesome out there too : )
Yeah, but nowadays the kind of dancing that is popular is all about simulated sex, even if you're dancing alone, especially for girls. There's no art to it.
Max and Annie killed everyone... unbelievable creativity that just blows me away every time I see them. Kudos... they just leave me wanting for more words... just wow!
This was the best thing I've ever seen. Love Todd and Jo, Skye and Naomi and Kevin and Carla--all dancing together again. So inspiring.

Their air is just redonkulous. I have yet to see anything like it. It's intricate, clean and creative like every time.

This is great fun to watch and everyone is fantastic but Max & Annie are really something special (as always!).
they're so disgustingly talented. so epic. Can you imagine how crazy it'd be to see this in person?? The energy in the room must have been off the charts! thanks for sharing!!
Oh how I wish I could download all those moves into my head.
My favorite competition. Should have more views.
@nrolinger
Right on! I enjoyed watching them dance together again. They looked really sharp.
This must be one of the best lindy finals ever. I screamed out loud several times.
@ArJa2803 Don't know why she didn't come to ILHC this year, but saw her at Herräng and she is still dancing and teaching. Not injured or pregnant. As brilliant and funny as always.
Thank God they had Jonathan playing!! That was unbelievable!!

So classy!!! You are all beautiful!!!
hahahaha LOVE the first part where max and annie tries to mimic the shilouettes of the ILHC-logo on the floor :D
it cracked me up ^^
Kevin and Carla. This made me kinda miss it. Seriously, though. How do you pick a winner?! Just... wow!
The stunt at 6:17 looks like magic!
This is eff'ing awesome!
Hi - that was one of the most impressive Gigs I`ve seen by Max Pitruzella - Respect!
Nevertheless, I`m still interested to know why Frida Segerdahl was not there. Has she finished her career? Does anybody know more ?
I want to do this! Looks like so much fun:D
i love that naomi and skye were the only ones really social dancing and they still held their own if not better than some of the other couples that had little patterns.
I wasn't arguing that point, I just wanted to let you know that the grinding of today existed in some fashion back then.
@mnbv4184 That's Max Pitruzzella & Annie Trudeau. They are my favorite couple.
6:16 was AWESOME!
I love how in the beginning the couple tries to match the silhouettes on the floor.:) funny.
@Wymorej The competitions this year will be held at the Renaissance Capital View just outside of Washington, DC. Visit ILHC.com for more info
I love the couple with the really really tall guy...HE'S GOT SO MUCH FLAVA~!!!!!!^_^
@DrPracticleHat It's Swing baby! :) (genre of jazz music made famous in the US during the 1920's-1940's --> see Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Cab Calloway, Roy Eldridge, Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman, Chick Webb, Artie Shaw, etc. etc. etc.)
@ColoradoSwingnut ah, I knew it was jazzish, but I didn't know what it's actual name, cheers.
@ColoradoSwingnut ...? Oh, you're serious. No, it is in fact Skye Homefries and not Daniel Newsome.
Dance classes for men should be required in high school along with math and history. No matter how bad or good they become, they'll have that sensibility that comes with it all. Kudos to these guys especially dancing today.
@perrybre Could you point out at what time Todd and Jo were, I am un familiar with all of their names
@ArJa2803 That's not Skye - that's Dan Newsome
awee-------sommme!!
@SVTKooks Their first time out is around 3:23
@ColoradoSwingnut
Man, that's Skye Humphries for sure. ;)
The bearded fellow and the red-haired beauty were my favourite couple.
Gotta give it to the tall guy in the black pants and the blond, they seemed to be the most polished and their presence made an impact...
The dancing rocked! But, out of all the songs, why that one? It would have been great for a balboa battle, but I didn't feel that it was in-your-face enough for a lindy hop battle...
How do you pick a winner? Wow, tough job for a judge because these couples are all on their game...
Can't stop replaying 6:18-6:23---!!!!!!!!!!
Hey- Whats about Frida Segerdahl ?? Miss her, because I think she is one of the
best social dancers in the world . I thought I` ve seen her partner Sky Humphries.
Why does he dance without Frida ? Is she ill, injured, pregnant or vwhat ?
7:40. Best part.
exactly what genre of music is this?
I did a double take on minute 6!
where are these competitions at?
@sbbbjm hardly the only ones social dancing // many were and that says a lot!
Also, ummm, last I checked, jazz routines are not social dancing, just saying. That being said, everyone was awesome out there too : )
@dukekiduke poor Dan, when will this ever end for him.... ;)
THIS IS THE SHIZZLE. NEW DANCE TO DO = SOLD!

They had dancing that was grinding too...they just did that in house parties, you know, in private.

Todd Yannacone and Jo Hoffberg
true
Oh. Emm. Gee. !
Why am i watching this ...
Back when dancing was less about sex and more about FUN.
awsooommeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
That's what I like to see. Couple at 3:06 looses gal's earring on the dance floor. Yahoooo.
Yeah, but nowadays the kind of dancing that is popular is all about simulated sex, even if you're dancing alone, especially for girls. There's no art to it.
Hooooooooooooooooly crap.
GAY!!
