  • WE HAD A JAPANESE FILIPINO SEAFOOD FEAST OF SEA URCHINS HERE IN DAVAO ORIENTAL!
What a great day! Our Japanese friend lost his bag, but it was recovered by locals. Who then invited us to hangout, have some coconut wine, and experience eating sea urchins with bananas. I have had sea urchins before, but honestly never really liked them much. This style of eating them, with bananas and vinegar... AMAZING! It was a lot of fun swimming out and trying to watch locals harvest the urchins. Catch and cook for the win! I didn't realize you really have to look between the rocks to get them!
The beach was beautiful on this day, the guys went for a morning surf, and I enjoyed my afternoon sea urchin swim... Philippines beach home life continues in Cateel, Davao Oriental, Mindanao!
    POWER ON.

The fishermen holding on and returning your friend's bag with everything inside, as well as the invitation to the Tuyom and Tuba party is pretty much proof that we can still have faith in humanity despite all the negative things that keep happening all over the world. It's just the sort of positive vibe that can make one's day.

Maybe a surprise for Japanese Daisuke san to find his lost bag because in Japan, you will find your bag when you left it. Locals in rural Philippines still have a good heart.

💞 What a heart-warming & inspiring story about how local FISHERMEN found your Filipino-Japanese friend's backpack (that had all his personal effects) but held on to it for safekeeping until they found the owner. Their HONESTY and AUTHENTICITY are characteristics we should greatly value, applaud, and appreciate. RESPECT!! 🫡

Ang saya ng tuyom! Favorite ko yan. Super agree with Kulas, it's the COOLEST spread. I love that they swam for the tuyom, harvested and cooked the saging na saba and corn, and even brewed the sparkling tuba. Great business idea by the way to develop and sell Sparkling Tuba. I cracked up on the Japanese dude's sparkling translation 😆 You guys are living the life. Inggit na inggit ako everytime I watch the drone shots. Kulas is the best in capturing the beauty of the coastal area. So much to love about the Philippines - ang ganda ng dagat natin, wag natin ipamigay sa iba! Atin 'to!! ✌🌺🌴
