    I agree Air New Zealand’s Premium Economy is great… one comment on your Business Class review: while they may not have the best seat configuration, I find the prices are much better than competitors and would rather keep better pricing than adding pajamas which most people , myself included, probably don’t use. Noise canceling headphones are also not important in my estimation.

    Thank you very much for your video and review Ewan. I also agree entirely with you regarding the price/products ratio in both Business and Premium Economy classes. As an ex NZ staff member I do love flying with them, but I think they have to work really harder for their soft products to be more up to date with the rest of the industry.

    • @ewanwilson2315
      @ewanwilson2315  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you for taking the time to reach out, really great to get your insights. I think we both agree Air New Zealand are a world-class operation competing in an ever competitive world. I have a lot of excitement and expectation for the new seats in their new 787 due in 2024. With the hard product sorted and a refocus on their soft products they will remain competitive. Again, thanks for watching the video. We’re very much in our early phases of producing flight reviews and hopefully improving each time.. we’re about to review Lufthansa, Austrian airlines and emirates over the next month so keep an eye out for those video’s.
      Kind regards Ewan

    I’m considering a long haul, overnight flight from Vancouver, Canada to Auckland and have been waffling between Air New Zealand business class and premium economy. I have arthritis and find these overnight flights uncomfortable. Had the flight in this video been an overnight one, would the seats have provided a comfortable rest? Quite keen to hear your thoughts! Thanks!

    • @ewanwilson2315

      Thanks for reaching out. So I have been lucky enough to have flown the Vancouver Auckland in both premium and business class.
      if you were to watch my first-ever video, it was of me flying Air New Zealand and premium economy to Vancouver. I did manage to sleep quite well. The recline is good and the footrest is okay if you’re able to get a window and lean a little bit on the side of the aircraft I found that also beneficial.. the food service and wine etc and the amenity kit is great and the premium economy is definitely Air New Zealand sweet spot for affordability.
      however, although I’m very critical of Air New Zealand business class seats when sitting, in the lie flatbed configuration it’s very good. I recently did a video review on Air New Zealand in business class. It’s on the site and I demonstrate setting up the bed. Check that out.
      at the end of the day, I have to let you decide whether or not the price differential is justified and that will ultimately depend on the price variation on the day but I will say if you end up flying premium economy I think you will be fine and you’ll be able to sleep you certainly will get good space. I hope this helps. Please watch the two videos that could give you more of an insight and safe travels.. and please tell me how it goes. Kind regards Ewan

    Thanks for the review. I find Air NZ's premium product a cut above the rest, especially the seat pitch and the fact that there is always at least one dedicated toilet - not even SQ or CX can boast this in their PE cabins. 0:23 "One roof"...well, kind of. What hasn't been mentioned is that only domestic JET services will be under one roof with international flights. In all their wisdom, the authorities have decided that regional (turboprop) services will not be included, and will remain for the foreseeable future in the current barn that is the domestic terminal. I was astounded and disappointed when I found this out, as I travel through both terminals (connecting to and from international services) each month. It's just nonsensical.

    • @ewanwilson2315
      @ewanwilson2315  5 месяцев назад

      thanks for reaching out. I first start by saying I couldn’t agree more with your comments regarding Air New Zealand's premium economy product it is world-class. you are so correct regarding Auckland Airport and I think a majority of the population has no idea that critical regional turboprop services are still not going to be integrated into the main terminal. this is a very poor decision. The inconvenience it will generate is significant. really appreciate your thoughts. Safe travels. Regards Ewan

      @@ewanwilson2315 with all your experience which is the best way to go for air travel miles? Credit card (is a particular one better in your experience?), Airline, another method?

    • @ewanwilson2315
      @ewanwilson2315  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey David, so my approach is the following. I picked one ecosystem in other words, one frequent fly alliance and then my case, the star alliance. Depending which country you’re in, you choose the carrier that best serves your city/country. So for me, I had no choice if I wanted star alliance it’s really Air New Zealand. Then chose a credit card that’s endorse by New Zealand. I had three choices American Express, ANZ or Kiwi bank. in the end I’ve tried them all but most recently the best ones are Kiwibank and ANZ. ANZ is particularly good if you’re doing a lot of flying within New Zealand rather than just paying for day-to-day essentials fuel groceries etc as ANZ give you a 50% bonus on status miles which helps secure gold and elite which of course gives you all the access to the lounges systemwide. The second thing that I did was I joined one other airline alliance program because over the years I discovered that they would constantly have sales where you could buy points and gain up to 100% bonus. Then I would bank those points until they had a redemption sale.. this is Air Canada’s Aeroplan. For example, I recently flew Brisbane Singapore on Singapore airlines in business class watch out for that video. Should’ve cost 3 1/2 thousand ended up paying $900 CADCanadian.
