      Had to re-watch the video again to remember 😅 …compared to my road bike this is slow 😂😂 I sprinted up to 50kph in town overtaking some cyclists 🚴

    I have the D11 which only does 24, a little bit more speed would be nice. Agreed on the resistance at the top speed. But overall I absolutely love the D11 and I imagine the same would be for the X.

    This video has it all man, ha. Cyclist breaks a red, cops pull over, speeding e-scooter chap showing why they're hated, and all while goving a good review of using the bike!😅 You said the torque sensor is safer in wet than cadence one, why's that?

    Changing to an 11t freewheel makes hitting 35kph easy. I agree best part is the easy starts for commuting.

      Mechanical modifications to bikes other than the typical stuff I find surprisingly more complicated than it should be ha 😂. Can you post a vid link so I can fully understand what’s involved and does this have any negative impact

      My X is finally working today (LCD was dead on arrival). I used the bike for 10 mins and it was too obvious, the 11-28t I ordered was going on ASAP. Hit the shed, I got the Drift Manaic so I had to twiddle a bit but as soon as I hit the road again I was raging why Fiido did not offer 11t from the get go! I hear the DNP freewheel might be a couple of mm better fit. I also replaced the derailleur with a Shimano Altus and those handlebar grips, gone! 😀
      At 32km/h I can feel good resistance where I can the commit to help. At 36km/h it starts to wain. Worth every penny this change. I was going to add a longer chain and a 58t up front but for safety I will hold off.

      Haven’t done enough full cycle runs with the bike yet, over the next 10 days I’ll try get a few full range cycles in if I can to record the exact amount 🙂 usually 50ish from a few separate trips

    Great video, the X gets great reviews. Are they all 350w here in IRL or do you need to specify ?

    • @smithy1011
      @smithy1011  2 года назад

      The 350w was a US model so I managed to contact the team to see if I could order it on indigogo, not sure on the official sites if they will sell as they have already received the European stock so they might not send

  • @snoopycharlie8718

    Whats the story with Irish law? Escooters with a throttle will be allowed from 2024, as long as its 250W motor and can't go above 25kph, but ebikes with ANY throttle assistance will be classed as mopeds, even if the power cuts at 25kph? Seems illogical

    Have you still got the Fiido X? There are a couple of videos that are not complementary. There’s a Version 2 available now and the price has dropped substantially; do you think it’s a good bike? Thanks, Bill (UK)

    • @smithy1011
      @smithy1011  Год назад +2

      I loved the bike man it was great in terms of speed and torque, design, practicality, reliability over time is another story which I may suspect a few replacements after a year. I’ve been waiting for Fiido x v2. But they haven’t even shipped it they said now 🤦🏼. I hurt my hand and lost all movement in my wrist which I have to regain slowly over the next few months so I haven’t made any videos or sadly had time with work and baby 🫠.

      Changing gears while riding or removing old cassette and derailleur? I seen a few videos on doing it but the effort and result where not worth it.

      Imagine like a 15 gear e-bike with 1500w motor un restricted 😂 think theirs one or two out there like the scrambler it’s caked with 2000w motor and 2 batteries with speed up to 55kph I think it was

    • @blademanx

      @@smithy1011 Yeah wont be suprised. Its just hassle if police see you. 20mph is ok for keeping up with city traffic who are meant to do 20 in new speed limit city roads. Ideally 25-30mph is great (40-50kmh)

      @smithy1011  2 года назад +1

      I use the cycle a lot of the same route on my way home!

    It's funny how they don't make small none folding bikes

    • @smithy1011
      @smithy1011  Год назад

      Himo makes a brilliant folding bike that’s very solid and I suppose for myself I though a solid bike was the way to go but so many reviews don’t think so and I say I must agree as the practicality of storage and car travel makes folding bikes so powerful

      Hi, does this bike still hold up the rest of time. I’m looking to get the ‘max’ version so it’s be good to know your thoughts? In terms of Himo - never heard of the brand but the z20 looks decent and also priced really well. Do you have any insight on this bike? Thanks
