This could perhaps mean that Man City is the best option for him as Pep will rotate him very well to get the most out of him. He could be exposed in almost any other top team. But whether he is the best option for Man City will have is still a question.

I agree you can't just go sign Locatelli or Zubamendi if they're going to sit on the bench, but in the old days Tifo would have looked at players who fit the right profile from less-fancied leagues, or up-and-coming players who might grow into that role. Sensible Transfers used to be one of my favourite series, because it told me about players who I'd never heard of, or who were surprising picks but fit the profile when you look at them closely. That feels like its been lost since becoming part of The Athletic.
