I'm a bit late to the comments section on this one, but thanks for the last 3 episodes (17, 18, 19). I've wired several swaps now and despite having done them, I still had this stigma and was hung up with the opinion that the wiring was somehow still voodoo.... Especially with the adding in 3rd-party components. Watching these videos helped me get over that mental hurdle. *looks over at the 6 swaps in the storage lot awaiting wiring*
I saw a red Mk1 Golf at The Motorist near Sherburn in North Yorkshire last weekend that had a very similar engine conversion. All the wiring was tucked the same, chassis rails were welded and smoothed the same and the engine bay had been repainted too. It was a very very nice restoration.
Hi just weondering if you can heip, i'm building a mk4 golf 18t and i'm fitting a dsg gearbox i need the wiring done. i've got a mk1 tt wiring loom from a dsg, plus do i need to change the engine loom to dbw because mine is agu cable throttle ,Just wondering roughly how much it would cost . thanks mark, #r2.8_turbo
Hi Ron great content you are very knowledgeable!! You have me wanting to swap my 1.8t a3 into my mk2. Can I use the aum lump will it be an easy conversion?
Hey man, currently putting a bam from a cupra r in my mk1 caddy and I'm after advice on the fuel system. Could we get a run down on parts you used for the fuel pump and how you installed it all please? 🙏
Hi Super Ron, will the "taco box" work on my MK2 golf with an R32 engine. Please share brand, website and part number of the "Taco Box". im writing from South Africa! Thanks.
The problem with the r32 is a 6cylinder going to the mk2s 4cylinder rev counter. So it will read 50% over rpm. Some people have used mk3 vr6 clocks aparently, but I haven't personally. The tacho box converter is made by vagtronics. They may have the 6 cylinder solution if you send them a message.
Oh yeah, little editing slip there 🤣 I only edited it up today and didn't proof it, aw well it can stay 😂 at least I'll know who watched it till the end!

Also, thanks for the swirl pot tip. Just ordered a handful as I've got a lot of MK2s and Corrados and they're not getting any younger.
You're never too late, I love how the videos are still continuously being watched, thanks 😁

yes mate, there is loads of forums online and Facebook groups full of information and help on how to do the conversion.
Yes conversion wise it doesn't matter what it comes out of as long as its transverse mounted.
