Your point about evergreen themes is probably why the only Disney Star Wars stuff we’ve seen remade is from The Mandalorian. The sets (especially for Rogue One and Solo) stopped selling after the hype for their respective films fell off after release. LEGO seems to realize this which is why they make more sets for shows starring iconic characters who have proven they’ll always sell (Kenobi, Ahsoka) than ones that haven’t (Andor, The Acolyte). Andor was successful during Season 1 so hopefully that changes, but Season 2 is also the last one so it might not.
It’s kind of funny that they made absolutely zero sets for the Acolyte. Either they could tell it was going to be a complete failure from the beginning or they at least figured it would be enough of a mixed reception that it was better to wait until after it’s release before committing to making any sets of it. And it’s a good thing they decided to wait because probably almost no one would have bought any of them.
LOL! I cracked up when you mentioned Chris Pratt would have made a better Steve than Jack Black. I don't play Minecraft, but just from the design alone, I completely understand what you mean. I know people criticized Chris Pratt as Mario and Garfield, but I never minded him in those roles, in fact, his Mario kind of reminds me of how Captain Lou Albano voiced the character in the Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

They should have just called the movie Minecraft Legends or something like that. Because calling it “The Minecraft Movie” is a horrible choice, especially when the movie doesn’t really encapsulate all of what Minecraft is. The movie seems to be very focused on fighting piglins, which is only a very small part of what Minecraft is. The majority of Minecraft players have still never been to the nether, that’s just not what draws people to the game, so making the whole movie revolve around that is a terrible idea unless you’re basing it more off of a game like Minecraft Legends where fighting piglins in the overworld is the whole point of the game.

I don't see the Ender Dragon appearing in this movie, it seems to draw plot from Minecraft Legends, and it wont mix dimension themes in the same movie, it will focus solely on the Nether, and leave scope for an End topic in a potential second or third movie. The plot would likely be about stopping rogue Nether portals allowing Piglin's from getting into the overworld, and them blocking them off defeating something to seal off or bring peace to that dimension. LEGO will only make sets about the movies if they have the licence, they can't just start making LEGO about the Minecraft movie without the studios, directors and shareholders all agreeing money. It's likely they'll just carry on their typical Minecraft set rotations and reap the increased interest of the movie without partnering with it. If they do decide to partner up and create official movie sets, then it may just be one or 2, but since they're doing well with their current licence of it, I doubt they'd have scoped in any movie tie-in sets.
LEGO is probably going to play it "safe": they are probably releasing something that is playable under the MINECRAFT name about the same time the movie is released. This way they can get all the benefits if the movie is popular and have basically no drawbacks if the movie goes bad. LEGO makes toys and as long as people like to play with them, the success of a movie is potentially free advertisement.

We've had wierd liscenced sets before, the tmnt cgi cartoon had a line, then the micheal bay tmnt movies had sets, so hopefully it wont take over the main minecraft line but just be a few sets.
Lego Minecraft has been since 2014, that's also when I was hyped to Minecraft ever since I first saw animated videos (by now-banned RUclipsr FuturisticHub) featuring characters like SpongeBob, Angry Birds, and FNAF that also got me so hooked to the game 10 years ago, good times 😊
There will be no ender dragon. The themes of the movie (Piglins in the overworld and being the main villains) are based on Minecraft Legends. There are incorrect things within the movie because its the minecraft concept, not the game logic. Disregarding the movie based on two minutes of footage because it is not "respectful" of the game logic is not logical in itself.

Here’s my take on this. When their favorite game all of a sudden went haywire. 4 friends are teleported into the game and took the form of their avatars the film could start as live-action and for the second & third act it’s animated. What do all think of this?
I think the film will do well...we have seen a 1 minute teaser. People are too quick to judge but i think its too early to predict sets though. They wont make sets about a teaser

Think of the avengers endgame sets and black panther those sets did awful. Just because a movie is popular doesn’t mean sets off of certain scenes means it will do good. Kids don’t necessarily care about scenes. A general set then just branded Minecraft movie will probably be what they end up making

No you can bring ghasts to the over world. Docm77 did it on hermitcraft. Really the piglin are the bigger question. They should become zombified.
