Extra: 2009 - Desmond's hidden blade 2029 - Darcy's hidden blades (in WD Legion) i am not sure if when Darcy gets the assassin outfit, she also get the hidden blades too.
Weird fact: Hidden blade in AC 1 had the ring that activated it (it is confirmed in AC book). AC 1 happens in the 3rd crusade. Meanwhile Bayek and Alexios living in ancient times don't have the ring Edit: Da Vinci modified the hidden blade so the user doesn't have to cut his finger and doesn't have to use the ring. It activated by muscle move. But Da Vinci did this in Ezio times not acient xD
Far as i see it the ring is always part of it but for gameplay reasons ans because it would be a hassle to render. It's basically game magic because otherwise it's just not possible to actually use XD
