I personally don’t like mayonnaise it’s to me too sour like. I use Kraft Salad Dressing very tasty and a few sprinkles of sugar and also I use a smidgit of bell pepper and when I make my potato salad it’s the 1st thing to disappear and everyone says if I didn’t make it, they don’t want any. I’m sure your family love your potato salad and a little mustard etc.
I don’t like mayonnaise in potato salad either, I like miracle whip, and no matter what you put in it, a little sugar always rounds it out for me, but everybody’s taste buds are different

From my understanding, Using the Mustard, acts like a Glue, to help seasonings adhere to the meat, you do t taste the Mustard
Carrie you could have cooked those hush puppies in that fish grease since it was already hot. That's how we did it back in the day!!
