Love thick picks... I'm slowly getting rid of anything I have under 1.2mm ... I currently use Gravity Picks I'll have to give the Hawk and Chicken a go ... Let's hope no one comes out with Budgie, Sparrow and Pigeon Picks or this could get expensive fast!
I’m only using below 1mm now for acoustic guitar. Everything on electric is way above that! I can definitely recommend hawk and chicken though. Hahaha I would definitely buy pigeon picks
Now that is interesting because I started out playing Acoustic and I just followed over to electric with the thicker picks. I can't stand floppy picks on acoustic. Maybe I should try them out again it's been a while....
Usually when I’m playing acoustic I’m playing with a vocalist so a thinner pick helps me keep the volume down so she can sing over the top. If I play on my own I use thicker picks. It’s down to my bad technique!
Bad technique is all I've got going for me. The other choice is stop playing and there's no way I'm letting the family off that lightly.
How do you pick the right pick for picking Flying Pickets stuff?
I have experienced that Chickenpicks are very "clicky" when they hit the strings. I do love playing with them though...
How are Hawk picks and Gravity, when they hit the strings? Both hard and softly.
That's the main reason why I use Hawk picks now. They feel much softer on the string but still have a good attack.
Cool have u ever tried Jazz iii?
Yes I used to use Jazz III XLs for a long time but they wear down to quickly for me, and the normal size is too small. Probably because of my bad technique!
Sigh... Off to order more picks... I've got to stay off of RUclips, it's costing me too much money...LOL
Tell me about it! RUclips has cost me so much in the past 😂 what picks are you ordering?
Dipswitch Demos I'm going to try the Hawk picks. You have piqued my interest when you said that they sound close to way fingers sound. I have quite a few Dragon Heart, V-Picks, stone picks and Chicken Picks. Chicken Picks are my current favorite.
Hawk and chicken picks are my favourite... I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with them! Let me know what shapes you ordered man 👍🏼
Dipswitch Demos I'm going to order the TB4, 6, and 7, in the thickest available, with grip holes. How are the bevels on the Hawk compared to the Chicken? I primarily use the Bad Azz and Shredder.
Good choices! The hawk picks come in a choice of bevels: no bevel at all which is similar to a shredder or a left/right bevel depending if you’re a leftie or not. Personally I prefer the no bevel option
